And thus it ends... What started as a rather peculiar little drawing eventually turned into a very wholesome romantic comedy series that now came full circle with a couple of personal graduation speeches and a little timeskip. There will be an epilogue in the final volume, but for now I am satisfied with the ending - it's certainly open-ended a bit anticlimactic, but I am sure Nanashi will show us a glimpse of the future once the release date comes around.

So it was overall a dud of an ending. No time skip or super romantic scene. The author had Nagatoro and Naoto naked in a bath but couldn’t have any sex scenes?? The chapter was good for the speeches but everything else was boring and underwhelming. Honestly the series was pretty good up until after the confession. After the confession the author wasted time with a pointless argument arc and then just ended the series. Even Uzaki chan has handled arcs after the confession better. Still a 8/10 romcom marred by a weak final act.

Fantastic final chapter. Both speeches were great and I love that it ended in the art room. I'm definitely sad to see the series end, but it's been such an amazing read for all these years and one I always looked forward to for the next chapter. Thank you Nanashi for such a wonderful story. I'm looking forward to the epilogue and your next work.

This manga ran out of steam at least 30 chapters back.
I have had to wade trough so much filler that these last chapters have left me emotionally cold.

Two speeches and one final "I'll model for you, senpai" was the ending. You can say it was pretty touching to go back in time with some panels (with their characters finally developed in comparison to the first chapters).

But, I can also see why it could be disappointing for people who thought it needed a timeskip of some sort.

In my opinion, Naoto's speech felt pretty short. It didn't hit me the way Nagatoro's speech did. And it was a pretty sweet ending for him to be back in his art room with Nagatoro at the end.

It's a good ending. But it could've been much better if they showed a glimpse of their future together. But I understand that maybe 774 does not want to make a sequel or anything of that sort so the ending is still pretty much close to present time post graduation (although Nagatoro's girls did say "long time no see" which can allude to the fact that a decent amount of time has passed).

All in all, I don't really mind the ending. I'm glad I stuck by this Manga for the longest time. It was a fun read (maybe not at the beginning :p but I digress). I just wish that Naoto's life at TUA was shown in the Manga.. So many missed opportunities for future installations that could be sequels for the story. But if Nanashi wants to stop here, then the Manga stops here :''D

@Black60Dragon You can though...? Also like with every other manga, we do not have the chapter count completed so It will not show the chapters. Just be patient and wait until the release date of the final volume which is August 7.

Was a rather emotional (for Nagatoro lol) final chapter. Its been a pleasure to read this series.. Heres hoping for an epilogue chapter with more happiness for Nao and Hayase for that final closure I was seeking in this chapter.

Oh I was really expecting a timeskip.. a genuine timeskip which would amount to us seeing them get married or anything along those lines. Though we got one, but that was too brief lol, a few months only I guess. Speech was fine btw, it shows how far these two have come.

Series in its starting phase might have put many people off, but yeah, as we moved forward, it did show you have to give things time to see their actual worth. Really enjoyed most of it. Ending could've been a bit better, but I'm sure the author will make sure of that thing in the epilogue. Will miss and I hope we'd see the end in the adaptation too.

It was time for the speeches.
Both Nagatoro's and Senpai's speeches were very nice.
And also, we see Nagatoro modeling for Senpai for the last time.
The first manga I started reading has ended.
A story that started in a curious way ended in something very nice.

That was incredible, the gorgeously drawn nagas, 774 cooking up a storm with his signature smooth, reflective, plastic-esque, crisp art. Their speeches about getting out of your comfort zone to grow and fighting your fears instead of fearing your fights was phenomenally well said. I am so happy with this finale, this goes out to smeg my man. What a fun series it's been!

So there it is, the end! I think that was as good a way as any to end the story, Nagatoro's speech in particular was very good and it was great to see so many returning characters scattered throughout the audience. It's sad that it's over, but it's much better to end on a high rather than dragging things out until it has to be cancelled. I'll probably start a re-read from chapter 1 later to take in the full story.

Surprisingly very underwhelming finale...

The first half of the story was great, to the point of being an 8/10.
Potentially a 9/10 for me if it properly developed more in character and their relationship as people, along with a long running future.

Unfortunately, after the first few art competitions, and Hayase going back to judo, with too many new characters, those arcs made the story become dull.
... I already forget exactly what their progress to love was like when it finally clicked that they loved each other, but I do remember their evolution to quasi bullying turned strong banter friendship to love being good.

It's really after graduation was near, the exam for art school and that judo competition where the slow proper progress of their friendship to love became rushed and lackluster.

They barely hanged out, went on to dates or whatever.
The third quarter of this story really ruined its potential overall in the end.
It became a 7/10 for me, because the journey was still very good...

but with this lacking ending where they randomly express their feelings to the school instead of to each other,
with no fan service of a time skip, let alone a lot of time as a couple, seeing a future of them being married, with kids or whatever. ... we just got Naoto graduating, and coming back to visit their next semester...

So fucking disappointing... 6/10.
It was so cute and hilarious how she teased him and quickly showed affection to later develop love for each other.

Oh well. It was good while it last on the first half...

A bit of a mid ending after the intensity of the last chapters but I guess it was to be expected.

Overall a sweet and nice romcom. It’s funny that when it started there was so much criticism of it for the bullying aspects of it and look at the approval of it now.

Ending with the graduation and a short time skip. Though it seemed like just another chapter in the story. Miss Sunomiya senpai.

And it ended, been reading this and Uzaki since both came out and while the teasing concept seemed new and fun back then it became quite annoying at times with Uzaki but not for Nagatoro. Though things kind of became repetative/boring for me and lost interest but was still a nice read.

So now I'm not so sure we didn't go in the opposite direction.

It wasn't bad but rather than going overboard, it fell a little flat there at the end. Hope the rumored epilogue ends on a bit of a higher note. Definitely one of the more enjoyable rom-coms I've read. Still think it should have ended at 152.

So Nagatoro-san has finally come to an end with both of them hanging out at the club room. Naoto's speech felt more like a confession to Hayase while Hayase's served as motivation for Naoto.

Hopefully we'll get a future development that might lead into a potential sequel series.

Seems like the overall consensus is that this chapter was somewhat disappointing. I can’t say I feel that way. I thought it flowed well, maybe minus the rushed final dialogues with the side characters. And some panels were very nice. Nagatoro looking back at the art room. No dialogue needed. A great moment for this series.

Despite the typical “wait until the end to confess” romance trope, I thought this series succeeded at building the relationship between these two. I mean look where we started? I hope that a third season will be produced at some point. And hey, we get an epilogue as well. I hope to see a slight time skip and maybe a little more romantic shows of affection between the two. Overall, I really enjoyed this manga. And I think the ending is pretty nice.

nagatoro helped me through the worst time of my life, it's also my first anime and manga. It means a lot for me, and this is the end...it makes me so sad.
It wasn't the ending I wanted, I wanted to see their dating life, their dates, their problems, their wedding, their children... But it seems like we'll never get to see that ๐Ÿฅฒ

We have reached the end already...

All I want to say thank you Nanashi-Sensei or 774 for everything, I enjoyed the manga a lot, although I started reading it recently, it was fun moments and worth waiting weekly every monday, for the last chapter (154), already it had passed a period of graduation ceremonies, this when Nagatoro said:
(We haven’t met in a while...),

But there is still a final sense in the last volume, which will be released on Thursday, August 7th,

(The timing may vary by time zone)

anyway, I would like to thank Nanashi-Sensei again for this most wonderful manga, all the best in your next work.
