I'm commenting a little late because I gave a soft drop to the work for a certain reason lol, I'll comment on it but let's get to the general stuff.
The beginning of the anime was very interesting, in the first episode I put my chips in, I said that for the proposal it was a good anime or that it at least provided the goods, that is, it wouldn't be a bad anime, it would at most be an OK one, the first part of the anime (first 12 episodes) had a slow pace, almost stopping, some stories were interesting even in this part, such as the one about the scenes where Laios entered, actually stopping to think about this first part it was the only story that really interested me, looking backwards, it's easy to understand why, it was the only story that was part of the Lore itself, that had a reason for being there, the rest was just about food and such, in general this first part was at most an OK, a 6 /10.
In the second part, in the fight against the dragon, it was where the anime took a turn and everything got much better, the episodes, even with the cooking part, became much more dynamic, they became much more interesting, while the first part was a bit dragged, slowly almost stopping, making an effort to continue watching, this second part flowed like water, the story in one leap, it went from random things to something 100% about the story, in this second part it was as if the characters had fallen from head into the main mission, in the first part they had a big objective which was to save Falin but everything was very light, as if it had no weight, in this second part there was a much more tense atmosphere, in short lol, it improved a lot.
I liked the characters, I can't say that they had a great depth in these 24 episodes, they only had something in this ending, there had already been something from Marcille before in the first part but honestly it was quite boring, in this second part even though it was in this ending it was much better done, Marcille's past with Falin was part of the story but it was simply a bit of a filler, it could have been made more dynamic, because in itself it wasn't such an interesting story and didn't add much, so It could have been accelerated. All the characters in the work have their own personalities and each one kind of complements the other, one is a ladder for the other and they complement each other in the work.
Taking space to talk exclusively about the prota (Laios), as I said before, it's not that he had development or anything very glaring, but he stood out much more in this ending, doing much more relevant things almost like a hero, he even had a development in this ending as I had already pointed out but not so big but what happened in relation to the prota was a change of perspective, at the beginning the anime portrayed him as "dumb" but with the change of thought we see that he is totally competent, He saves the group a lot of times, that said, I'm going to send the conversation here, if in the end he's not chosen and someone else gets ahead of him I'm just going to be pissed, because it's a shitty narrative to do, let the prota have it his moment of glory, let people admire him in the end and not just see him as an idiot.
Marcille is very charismatic, in the few moments we had of her with Laios she made me ship her, so, I didn't think she was a bitch character like people keep putting it, I think she has potential but it's wasted when they don't make her have more chemistry with Laios, how much people like her more or are more euphoric precisely when they have the few moments of both.
The animation is very decent, above average, there were moments when it was somewhat average but in general when needed it was good.
Now you wonder, why did I soft-drop the anime!? I stopped more or less after Falin turned into a dragon but that wasn't the reason, simply the character that I hated most in the work appeared, when I saw a little of him in the episode he appeared that I already hated, when I watched it again where I left off a few eps later he showed me that I was right in hating him, thankfully he didn't appear much and in the rest of the eps he doesn't appear or barely appears at all, the character in question is Toshiro, initially I hated him because he was interested romantic in Falin, I think that at the time of the championship it wasn't something that should be developed, it had to be something shown in the first episodes, even because at the beginning of the anime he abandoned Laios, so that had been a shitty decision that took me away from work, then when I watched it again I was sure that he is a shitty character, firstly that he likes Falin and the same characteristics that he likes in her, are the characteristics of Laios, if you haven't noticed the brothers are almost identical, the two are kind of similar, there's no way you can hate one and like the other, I'm not talking romantically but about personality, not to mention that despite his regrets, Laios is a good guy and the guy talks a lot of shit to him, judge the Laios for something he would do (resurrect Falin with black magic), abandons him again and says he's going to shit on them, if it were up to him Falin would be dead, not to mention that she herself didn't care about the way things happened and was good, it's even worse if he screws her brother she would be pissed, rightly so, so for me if Falin ends up with Toshiro it will be a huge mess, there's no way to tank this character, I'm glad he must have appeared in only 2 episodes with the main group.
So that's it, it was a cool anime, it started slow and took a turn towards the end, it's a 7/10 anime rounding off, I don't see all the fervor that people are talking about, it's a good anime that fulfills its proposal but only , the pace is too slow in some parts and many of the stories are monotonous without anything very interesting happening but as I said, it delivers on what it promises, so 7/10 nothing more than that.
