Never been so frustrated at the end of an anime series, especially one 25 eps long. It jumped the shark around ep 17 and never recovered but it was too late to drop. Hella' frustrating.

I couldn't stand the characters shouting asspull plot armor powers at each other like an arcade all the time. This isn't pinball, it's anime. I don't like being lodged and dislodged moment to moment.

The retconning in the final ep was abhorrent and the second to last ep was not an ending at all. I cared about Hiruko, I cared about the ceremony during the festival. Instead it diverted into some really weird shit about shadow guy. So random.

Everyone said this was a great one and it has an 8.5 but didn't justify at all, simply one of the most frustrating conclusions to any series. This was so cool fighting these bad guys and strategizing but then the author lost track and couldn't follow it up, like hiding the action of the big fight between hammer girl and shadow king, that was just brutal, I don't even know how it ended and the whole series tips on that moment.

In the last 9ish episodes things just got further and further away from what made the series great and nothing made sense anymore. What were these eyes? Red eyes? And then we changed baddies? It was super disappointing for the big bad baddie (Hiruko the shrine maiden) to be dismissed so easily.

This series really wrote a check it couldn't cash with the first cour. Is this anime just jammed together so much that they procrastinated and ruined the end of the series or is the manga this illogical?

I figure they only got so much funding, it would've been nice to see a real adaptation of this series. It was OK but I stopped trying to remember little details shouted to the side, this series seriously needed to chill out and build the gloom and doom, it needed to stop being Speedy Gonzales.

Chalk it up to Disney shareholders' turd I guess. I feel like there absolutely was an A+ in here somewhere, but it was lost when the author couldn't truly come up with great ideas for the ending, and the last ep is one of the worst retcons ever, the remembrance means nothing and was so 'roll your eyes'.

I'm disgusted but I knew what to expect ten eps ago. And it started off SO well, all the mystery and dark. Needed to really throw out that ending and start over, stick to the grotto, Hiruko and looping. Not video game jumping from moment to moment to cover for the fact you've run out of ideas.

It had great atmosphere, good characters, but it was the author's inability to plot out an ending that sunk it. Where was any logic at all? And let's not get started on the pacing, just don't.

this episode was beautiful and OLM production is quality. Some of the further episodes were too much to comprehend with the amount of unpredictable weird plots so I honestly forced myself through. I'm glad I waited for the opportunity to binge instead of waiting for episodes weekly which would've been painful.

Pretty cute end for the story. Nice seeing the mc bond more with Ushio. I was hoping the friend character would succeed on his romance too. Really enjoyed the early parts of the anime. Only weakness was the poor final villain. 8/10 overall from me.

I watch rarely these kind of over 20+ episodes animes, this was hella promising and the ending ruined it for me :( I think episode 24 was the real ending, that's why when I noticed that there is one more episode left I didn't know why they've made that even for, it felt like a filler or alternative ending. I wonder if Shinpei's parents and Ushio is alive so why his personality is still the same? Would think he would be lighter and not have worries at all. Also why to erase those adventures? It's like everyone ended up with happy ending + amnesia lmao. I love usually happy endings but I think it would've been better ending if Shinpei disappeared with Ushio, whole anime was dramatic so that would've fit well. Also Shinpei getting killed many times, all those traumas and sacrifices feel hella wasted because Ushio just kinda created parallel world where they're happy and they don't even remember what they went though. I mean their bond is already strong but it would been ever stronger if they could remember past events. Why you gotta make such unbelievable ending? Also if Mio/Ushio are Shinpei's sisters so how he can be in love with Ushio and Mio in love with Shinpei? Shinpei is adopted right? This doesn't make sense.

In this timeline Shinpei isn't adopted because his parents were never killed by shadows. Mio asked him "aren't you going home first?" when he turned up at the restaurant and it showed him texting is mom amd saying "noone's home". It's also why there's that awkwardness of whether Ushio calls him Shinpei or Ajiro.

And this is probably up for interpretation but they both said "I'll buy you as much Takoyaki as you want" at the same time at the beach, which is what Shinpei said to Ushio when they were exploring the clinic during the time loops. Ushio then said "welcome back", I took that to imply they'd both remembered everything that had happened.

Wasn't a big fan of fighting Shide in the timeless dimension, but I like this a lot as the ending episode. It's very Your Name-esque, with the two leads forgetting all the supernatural events but kinda ambiguously implying that they remember right at the end.

Really solid 9/10 show overall, went in lots of directions I did not expect but I was thoroughly entertained throughout.

Best anime I've seen in a long long time. It reminded me a lot of Higurashi which I really enjoyed back in the day.
I didn't like the shounen battle stuff too much, even though I like shounen. At least the animations were pretty good and still quite exciting to see what happens next in battle.
Not sure why there is no "Action" tag. I really loved the vibe until all the battles started, I was on edge all the time until then

Overall a 8.7/10 and probably one of the best Anime I've seen in 5 years + I really liked the ending, finally an anime which feels finished with a nice conclusion. Nowadays everything has only a vague ending or an open ending and here everything had a good closure to everything. The curse was lifted, the evil guy got defeated who misused the godess since the whale accident and it turned out she was just a nice being who wanted to get loved and in the end she changed history with the good guys that the shadows never existed in the future world so everyone was still alive.

I think it was nicely done, until the last minutes of EP24 I didn't know which direction they will take story-wise
but glad they chose this one, some may say it's the safe route or the "lame one" but I think the anime goal was set very clearly towards such ending
otherwise their suffering will be fruitless thus meaningless and I think what made most of the characters push them self to the limit and even sacrificing their lives was done in hope to reach a similar timeline

Also glad they were able to make Hizuru know Shinpei somehow and were able to connect -Unlike some other anime ,Sonny Boy-
Overall it was satisfying closure and a fun ride

I loved it until the halfway point.
when the looping stopped, it was still good.
felt like the final boss had a final boss and the final boss had a final boss and the final boss had a final boss more final boss.
ep18: where can they possibly take this from here?
ep19: is it still going?
ep21: how is this 25 episodes long?
last episode was just okay, it was implied they both remembered everything in the end.
it was a good show but 15 episodes would've been better.

Pretty nice happy go lucky ending
The first part 12 ep was amazing but the second part wasn’t as good honestly
8/10 would’ve given it around 9 or 10 if the anime continued with the same quality as the first 12 episodes.
The first cour was just to good for me to rate it lower

Him not having him memories and anything with the shadows is disappointing
This final ep felt a bit unneeded and honestly made the ending a bit disappointing and a excuse for a happy ending

Damn that final scene when they both regained their memories hit me like a truck with the fireworks going off in the background!
BEAUTIFUL!

I also really like how Hizuru's new book is gonna be literally about the events we just witnessed.

What a ride it's been though,
At the start I thought it was gonna be a mix of Higurashi / Steins;Gate and Re;Zero but I have to say it set itself apart quite well.

It's hard to make a compelling mystery story and that combined with the time travel I think worked really well. - Some fantastic action too.
I can appreciate that the MC was smart too figuring out piece by piece alongside the viewer what was going on on the island.
The characters were well written too, I also love how things like the panties of Mio and the fact Ushio was wearing a swimsuit all the way throughout added to the plot.

But damn, that final scene with Ushio and Shinpei on the beach has gotta be one of my favourite scenes in a long while, so damn satisfying!

Definitely one of the most exhausting, draining double cours to watch
Virtually every episode ending in a cliffhanger, ten asspulls an week, endless 'no u's all season long
Not quite close to my favourites, but far from forgettable. I think 7-8/10.

A complete happy end, I was surprised when I saw how it ended back when the final chapter dropped but I was happy that they got their well deserved happy end. Earlier part of the show is easily out there among the best and overall a really good watch. Love it and Hizuru best girl.

Also there's a spinoff sequel manga to this series. I wonder if it'll get adapted as an ova or something.

The episode just fits the rest of the anime, it's a great epilogue that makes you feel acomplished for watching and for bearing all the sad parts, the only "problem" is the lack of a explanation in the early parts of the episode about how that exactly happened and obviously a kiss at the end

That was... an interesting ride. The first few episodes were very interesting tho, but it kinda felt a bit underwhelming after that. Nonetheless, it was still an interesting ride. While time loop itself gets kinda old in my book, the way the series used the concept was unique.

The series started gloomily but it ended very happily (unless I missed some details). I thought the shadow Ushio'd be the only one who died, but it turned out she left her memories on the real Ushio too. Idk why but I predicted the ending of this anime from the very first few episodes; I knew that at the end Ushio and everyone'd be happy and alive. Perhaps it was because this anime mess with the concept of time that it foreshadowed how it'd end? Or because it's just the usual formula of a shounen series with such gloomy start? Well, it doesn't matter anyway.

Good to see everyone living normally, happily. Good to see Nagumo-sensei as sexy as ever; even more with that wary look on Shinpei when they left the ferry.

Also, I want to talk about the manga a bit. The anime covers 13 vols of manga within 25 episodes, which to me may not be a very good number. Though, on MAL, the manga has a lower score than its adaptation. I'm a bit interested in it so maybe I'll read it someday later.

I think this episode is great and everything has a happy ending and everyone is happy and in this movie there are many things that surprise me, the most surprising is that the plot of the movie near the end is not too fast so that viewers can slowly enjoy it. The appetizers are in the back, the author builds the characters very well, the world building in the movie is also very good, the movie itself also deceives viewers very well through the outside poster in addition to the fact that the poster has a picture of spider lilies. metaphor for a bad omen. But overall the movie is very good and worthy of receiving an award from trending anime, right?

holy such a great show, i should've watched this hidden gem sooner aaaa god damn i knew i should never judge a show based on it's key visual, but like for real though imho they could've used the second image instead cause this one looks like boring pool cleaning session WKWKWK

other than that the execution of this show is really good like wow OLM do be cooking real good for this one, and i couldn't ask more for the ending or for the show itself, such a masterpiece it's already perfect as it is, but yeah my experience watching mystery + thriller/suspense is only haunted by the feeling of expecting a bad or sum dark or maybe an unfinished ending, but im VERY glad that it didn't happen and this last episode turned out to be one of the most relieving anime endings of all time, again imho it's just perfect πŸ‘

Is it me or it feels like there are contradictions in every chapter? About how the powers and self imposed rules work? It also feels superweird to have super convenient powers once everytime they need them. Like: uuuuh you can see 2 seconds in the future? well... i'll just drag you to this world where you can't see. oh, we can't kill the little girl, well gues what i just find out? i can hack her with my new discovered power. I know they are things that are there since the beginning, but knowing about them just when it's convenient for the story just bevause, feels weird. Also. How could Mio's shadow defeat Ryunosuke on the 1st loop? Doesn't they have the 2 second vision + they sense shadows? Kinda weird Ryunosuke faced Shide and almost won, but couldn't defeat Mio's shadow xD

I feel like I could make a bigger list of inconsistencies if I watch it again. Strangely I didn't see anything bad about time traveling, when it used to be the easiest way to mess up a story.

It's great to see everyone is still alive. Even Sensei and Ryuunosuke! Aaaah. Ryuunosuke is so cute. I didn't think he'd name his daughter Haine.

I hope Mio accepts Sou's love confession in the current timeline. He really loves Mio even though time has been repeated many times :')

Very nice, 8/10. Although for the concept of time looping, Higurashi did it far better and more meaningful.
