My 238th completed series chronologically.

For the record, I extended it a 6/10 rating.

decent episode to end the show on. nice callout to include an introductory and conclusion monologue by Ryza in this show just like in the game.

I like that it showcase that though the Ryza gang has grown they are still in touch with their roots and daily goings on the island.

overall good enough adaptation. glad they had enough budget to pull through without too many discrepancies.

A little treasure hunt for the finale. Nothing to advance the plot, but pretty sweet.

Overall Atelier Ryza had it's ups and downs. I like the calming setting of a few kids just going throuhg some little adventures. It also didn't feel like I should expect more (opposed to last summer's Warau Arsnotoria Smile, for example), yet it still left a lot of questions and plots hanging in there, so I hope a second season is already planned.

The execution of the show was pretty bad. There were multiple scenes repeated to the max (Most prominently Ryza creating something with Alchemy) and it often felt like watching a Let's play of the game instead of a TV adaptation. Mostly because the dialogue and quests felt so game-scripted. And while I don't mind adding fanservice designs (like Ryza's thihgs being as they are), having this shoved into my face in complelty weird camera angles felt like the producers went "Hey, this show sucks. We have to get the audience horny so they don't notice". This is not only unprofessional, but also destroys the wholesome, innocent atmosphere the show otherwise tries to set up.

The world building was also very hard to follow. It felt like I was supposed to have a map and monster dex with me. But, of course, this is an anime, so I don't.

I will probably check out the game now. The characters were well-written and the atmosphere was nice overall. And while it could be boring at times, it would've been a sweet show if it wasn't for the super lazy production.

5/10.

Good episode.

It's beautiful how they find small (or big) adventures together just so they don't stay bored.

I wonder how much adventure we lost just by being glued with phones and always have "something to do".
The Future is only one idea away.

Better than I expected tbh.
I remember trying the game and liking the battles but finding everything else boring. So I dropped it.
With the anime the pacing is faster and it helps with the overall journey imo.

Late answer but they're just really close friends.
They grow even closer in the two following games.

I truly wanted to pay attention, even tried watching it at work so my other option would be even more boring, but I simply couldn't, my productivity went up when this was on my second monitor.

They really should have just taken control of the dragon instead of kill it.

A nice finale with Ryza and the gang just doing a simple treasure hunt.

It was a nice and relaxing adventure show, just as I expected an atelier series should be. I remember hoping that an anime adaptation would come when the
game came out four years ago. And I was glad that it came through and now it's finally here. I have the game along with Ryza 2 but was never able to touch it because
of other games I play. Hoping I can find time to continue to play the first game. Thighs are everywhere in this show as expected. The show never fails to show Ryza's popular thighs.

Wow... this anime is The example of what means to be 5/10. Ryza no Atelier is not 5/10, actually 5/10 is Ryza no Atelier xD

Anyway, Ryza thighs and Lila -kinda- saved this anime from a bigger disaster in my opinion xD If it were not for them it would have nothing to see here.

At least as for someone who don´t play the game - such as me, this was an extremely bland anime.

The entire episode focuses on the search for treasure, and at the end they discover that they already have this treasure.

Huh? They didn't tell us what Empel's going to tell them? Such a cliffhanger.
Final episode is about searching some random 'treasure'...
Well... I love seeing their eyes.... Especially Lila eyes...
Of course Ryza thigh is the most appealing in this anime since she's the main protagonist.. But for me, Lila big breast are the most appealing~ And her body portion are sexy too.

Uhm, of course it's slow pacing, I'm pretty sure playing this as a game are more fun than it's being fully animated.

One last time for the final episode: thicc thighs saves lives.

Anime adaptation is rather average. I can sort of understand the average score it got. The "queen of darkness" that is mentioned literally in the title was left almost completely untouched other than the brief appearance of the philuscha. Worse still, there does not seem to be any plans for a second season so the anime only covers the game until the first real boss...

I guess it does a pretty okay job of promoting/introducing the game and the characters but that was all it did in the end sadly... In short, the anime was more character development focused while leaving the story/plot to the bare minimum.

I think if we had maybe 6 or 3 more episodes, we could cover the game pretty well but that would not have been able to fit any schedule, i guess...

I already liked the game, so I enjoyed this, but this is a very odd place to end the adaptation without an announcement for S2.

it felt like the weirdest place have a filler episode, seeing as it's the last ep of the season

Well its over. Overall it was just boring, way too much slice of life for me. Nothing really was resolved either.

Well as far as more girly/ shoujo shows with a quasi adventure vibe and overal fantasy world feel go..this wasnt the worst I have seen. It was chil, just too jrpg ish most of the times and lacked proper adventure. Liked the second half of the intro song, and the look of the shows coloring was good, even a lot of the detail at times...but then it would drop off with side and background characters, the lame looking monsters that occasionally popped up...nothing was really gained or learned, just...a bit of a random excuse for a fantasy show. Plus they focused on Ryza's thighs and ass a bit too often in a weird way lol...oh well...5.5/10. Would be nice if there was a 2nd season that got some proper adventuring in and upped the detail quality, but there probably won be one.
