Honestly, at this point, Ciel is the real MC of this series together with Kanata. Sorry, Noir/Mystere.
The only thing Kanata needed to do with that gun or with his Daisy Ogre was use it to kill Weisheit and everything would be solved.
Surely, the bond between Kanata and Ciel will help her to overcome the reboot.

Artfully hide a symbolism of sex (and cheating) between Kanata and Ciel. Just like how Disney uses dance scene to indirectly express sex scene.

Hmm I wonder if that ring worked in the end, maybe Ciel indeed got formatted but she will see Kanata as her true master instead.

Okay, so Ciel predicted the hack and prepared that ring program, just to give up her body for Noir to use?

WAIT. So Ciel is Weisheit’s magus?? Holy shit man this was my top episode of this show so far, so much revealed and that ending! We gotta talk about it

Ciel being the main antagonist’s magus was a big shock, but makes sense now that I think about it. What’s crazier is that she’s been manipulated and lied to by him dozens of times and reboot forgetting all the promises he’s made to her. He doesn’t value humans or his on magus, it’s no way he could ever win.

No shock Ciel couldn’t kill Kanata, he’s way more than just a friend to her, her first love. I’ve said before but I love their scenes and chemistry way more than Kanata and Noir so I’ve enjoyed this time without Noir and Mystere.

The master contract process is so intimate, I loved that moment between Kanata and Ciel where they finally became master and magus officially if only for a moment. Ciel’s singing ability being her actual magus power was so cool. But that ending 😢there’s no way she’s gone fr right? Like please I’m begging 🙏🏾 gotta be a way Kanata can save her. Can’t kill off the best character like this

All the stuff with Ciel was the biggest part of the ep for me, but we also learnt about Amasia and that Tokio is still the same tokio we know and love. He looked furious when Weisheit said he told Ciel to kill Kanata

Weisheit giving Ciel that pendant was kind of cliché [so were her and Tokio's actual intentions].. but that's alri8.. can allow sometimes.. Villains with broken and weird crooked psyche was needed.. and Weisheit is just that.. Also his combat scores as shown by the mini-robo proves he is quite a strong drifter .. waiting for weisheit's wise ass to be kicked..

Hoo boy, we had some good old-fashioned Macross-style musical magic happening this ep. And poor Ciel, she's essentially like a "kept woman" from the Bond films, and they often don't come out in the end. I wonder if that ring wiped her memory while protecting her from being retaken by Weisheit. I suspect she might become a vessel for Noir or Mystere.

This show has zero subtlety. Of course Ciel was going to die. At the same time what is stopping everyone from telling Weisheit to fuck off?

While the earlier few episodes have me being just losing hope for the series. Ciel just rekindled my hope that this anime wont have a shitshow ending.

I expected Weisheit gave her a tracker, that she was prepared to sacrifice herself to provide a body for Noir, I did not expect her to self terminate with the ring program because Weisheit actually tried to remotely reboot her.

but all this just makes Weisheit seem like a kid throwing a tantrum rather than a mastermind... what a waste of buildup and character I suppose.

oh and there is probably no mistaking Ciel self terminating herself, if you go 2 episodes back (episode 5 and this episode both skipped the OP), in the OP you can see a part where Ciel was singing in her Magus Skill form, with something shining in her hand (the ring this episode) and when she let go, the shining thing went to Noir, which she then clutches close to her chest

So 99% she ends up being the spare body Noir needs

Best episode of this series so far, Ciel going out like that super sad, even though she was a spy the whole time she was still my favorite character.

and here i thought that the supposely mysterious girl in OP before Noir is her previous master before this episode, actually is Ciel.

and with that, there is a faint hope that Ciel will come back. hmm.

@azl96 you know the drill, Ciel would probably show up as a flash-back-ghost-spirit-mentor thingie in the last episode to give the power boost Noir needs to defeat her enemies

With Weisheit's Ideal having total control of Kanata with Ciel's help of his imprisonment, it looks set that they'll reach Histoire fast. Tokio and Mouton under their monikers, there was actually an attempt to revive Amasia, though he got tired of it, and now depends on Weisheit for any impending progress, though what his intention is, they need to crack his head to find out. And Weisheit finally releasing Ciel, only for her to land Kanata a brutal death before their parting, she can easily be reformatted once more. Certainly, the Weisheit from her memories have been altered numerous times so much so that she has become his lapdog. That's why Tokio was surprised that she couldn't remember him and Mouton, and Weisheit wanting to restore the world back to normal, without Magus, he certainly was alarmed to hear of his ludicrious ambitions.

Ciel facing Kanata with the prospect that she'll never be able to get out of his rule, Kanata forces her on another trajectory out of Ideal, though Tokio has already done the repairs to Daisy Ogre to ready for his escape. For Macht and Schnee, stopping Kanata and Ciel may be a problem since Tokio and Mouton are essentially giving them a path forward, though making this a game with Weisheit, it would make for a good cat-and-mouse game. Most certainly, with Ciel making a contract with Kanata as her new master, she still remembers the promise she had with him, and her singing Magus Skill, fully established her character. Her existence is only for the moment where she takes Kanata to safety, and that's her primary goal.

Certainly, a looming episode, which is the best thus far.

Mixed up feelings about Ciel but ultimately I like her. Though seems like she ain't gonna make it. I was wondering why she didn't take off that pendant but she had a backup plan but uh is she planning to give her body to Histoire/Noir? Cause that what it seemed like to me.

LoL wtf was all of this.

- Suspcious necklace. And Ciel was aware of it.
- She didn´t actively remove it, but before joining Kanata´s mecha it had apparently disappeared.
- Just apparently though, cause that necklace was the cause of her reboot.

If she planned to be Kanata magus in the end, she should have removed the obvious suspicious necklace.

She betrayed her bastard master at the moment she decided to flee/help Kanata and afterwards she finally revealed and decided to be Kanata´s magus and successfully ended up doing so. So no reason to keep that necklace - which was obviously no good.

Sorry, but this was total bullshit lol

The production is decent (if unremarkable), but the characters on either 'side' are lame. At least to this point.
Canned protagonists and canned antagonists with vague motives

This is what I was worried would happen: Ciel being instantly forgiven by Kanata because she had some nominal regret in a momentary bout of clarity. This is ineffective, because Ciel, like other Magus, is not a mindless automaton who can only follow orders, and has to be manually "reset" by Weisheit to erase inconvenient memories. As an android with otherwise indistinguishable agency and acuity from any human, she is capable of individual responsibility for her actions. As such, considering Kanata hasn't "reprogrammed" Ciel, he has no reason to be talking about trusting her, as she's still the same fickle person who previously sold him out to Black Mask and rendered him unconscious.

Not saying I expect someone as saintly as Kanata to take the gun and unload it into her at the first opportunity, but I would've liked to see some hesitation or slight amount of hostility towards her, as she deliberately endangered both him and Noir to progress the goals of someone she herself wasn't much fond of.

At least Weisheit is a somewhat engaging villain.

I get it, it’s a loop, Weisheit would erase Ciel memory again and again so that she serve him. Hence she in a way sacrificed herself to prevent it, aka becoming Kanata enemy again.
