| Premiere screening at AFA SG 23. https://www.instagram.com/p/CynHdyqSVpj The duo mangaka Maybe now has 3 anime works under their belt: - The classic Tasogare Otome x Amnesia fame (that's a throwback to classic early 2010s-era anime), - MAPPA's Summer 2019 show of Katsute Kami Datta Kemono-tachi e a.k.a To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts, which was decent, And they're now back with Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari a.k.a Tales of Wedding Rings, one of the more palpable works since Tasogare Otome fame, that came out in early 2014 (before Sacred Beasts by 3 months), and the anime coming out almost 10 years later.[/b] Sizuk's another OP this season, along with Alia's ED, they're both fine, though the ED visuals could count as a harem of sorts, For Satou and Himeno "Hime" Nokana, their relationship which started from the latter coming down to Earth together with her grandfather Alabaster and protecting her secret, they've lived as childhood friends that way ever since for 10 years, living the comfortable life. As much as Satou's clearly in love with Hime, even spending the summer festival with her, she has a limited time and has to go back to her original world. With that same light that he witnessed Hime coming from all those years ago, she's going home to get married. But Satou ain't gonna stop from here, and proceeds into her world. Upon reaching her world, Satou witnessing Hime getting married as Princess Krystal Novaty Nokanatika, and then attacked by a monster from the Abyss, the Ring of Light is forcefully given to him, and the kiss that solidifies him and gives him power to take the demon down. The thing is, the other prince that she was supposed to be politically married to, Hime didn't know him, and chose him instead to be her Hero, the Ring King, heralded to Arnulus. Technically, this is Hime's fault that she dragged him into her world being the Maiden of Light, but Satou will take her anyday since he's been her protector since their childhood days. Even sharing a bath together as a newlywed couple, as the Abyss demons have continued to ravage on Arnulus, as much as Satou is not equipped to fight, him being the Ring King, he has to fight either way. A decent showing, though it's not like the classic Tasogare Otome x Amnesia that I know. |

| Even though the setup might seem ordinary and straightforward, there's something special being prepared for the future in this story. I can feel it. Satou and his closest friend, Hime, have been inseparable for as long as he can remember. So, when she drops the bombshell that she's heading back to her hometown to tie the knot, his initial instinct is to tag along and maybe throw a wrench into her wedding plans. However, things take an unexpected turn when a spontaneous kiss from Hime turns Satou into the groom-to-be. In this peculiar world, Hime carries the title of Ring Princess, and her spouse is destined to become the Ring King—a legendary hero with incredible powers. Completely unaware of this prophecy, Satou soon realizes that marrying Hime means he's signed up for the role of a powerful hero destined to save the world. When Hime feels the need to go back to her world for this really important ritual to save her people, it totally makes sense why Satou would want to go with her. He's genuinely concerned. The first episode really dives deep into the emotions behind this decision. But it's a bit confusing that, even though the show clearly shows this strong romantic connection between them, it kind of dances around acknowledging those feelings directly. Maybe they're trying to create some suspense, but now I'm just curious about how their relationship is going to play out in the next episodes. Honestly, the connection between Hime and Satou is more interesting than the world-building itself. It's a bit of a letdown, considering how visually stunning the animation of the world is. The animation is top-notch, with this soft art style that looks even better with the clever use of lighting. Speaking of art, the art in that ED, should I expect some ecchi in this show? It is on AT-X; they don't have any reason to hold back... Although this show hasn't totally won me over, I'm genuinely curious to see how things will evolve in the coming weeks and whether it will grow on me. |

| And so starts the first Saturday of the season when a crap ton of new shows are premiereing. Decided to watch this one because of I saw a lot of people recommending it. "Hime" means "princess". 7:20 for some reason everything here is written in traditional style, right-to-left. Is this an alternative world to ours? Or just overthinking lol. 18:38 I think they are bullying Hime here because bleaching your hair was once banned in Japanese schools and was seen as a sign of rebellion, self-expression and delinquency. This isn't really a thing these days though, there are a lot of people with dyed hair in Japan now. This was quite interesting. |

| It's finally here, new anime from MAYBE's manga. As I've already read the manga I was looking forward to it. The visuals look really good, glad they did the artwork justice. Like the world building for this one and it'll keep getting more interesting. Probably my fav part of the series aside from best girl Granart that is. Can't wait to see her appear in the anime. Don't like the main fmc aka Krystal much for various reason which I won't mention so gonna enjoy this much more when the other princesses arrive. OP/ED were both nice btw, specially the visuals. Went all out with the fanservice in the ED visuals. There were some decent fanservice in the episode too. Good start, hoping they keep up the good work with rest of the episodes. |

| Prince was surprisingly nice about the situation. Nice amount of fanservice, harem of hot girls based on the ed, hopefully the scenes will be even spicier next episode with more than just kisses. Instant watch. |

| Another constantly bewildered, blushing, screaming, stuttering fool of a mc. You're childhood friends with this knockout babe and you still freeze up at every point of contact and communication? Ugh. Why can't we have mc's with just a little bit of spine? Dialogue, pacing, script and animation remind me of "the dreaming boy is a realist", the oregairu we have at home. Constant eyeroll of cringe at the uppity characters and their cliche melodramatic lines. "hmpf, so this is what you have chosen, hime~". You just got cucked mate. |

| This will be my "I read the manga, stopped, and forgot most of the story" anime for this season. I like how the Empire's prince was super chill about the whole marriage ordeal. How much budget we have for the ED? Enough for a song and one illustration. |

| that was a fun start the girl looks amazing, specially since she now has that gyaru style (mostly because she had blonde hair and stuff) already getting kisses, marriages, bath scenes, action scenes (tho still short, only like 1 attack) ... this episode had it all lol the one i watched wasn't uncensored so i'll have to check the bath scene again later coughcough i'm excited to what comes next, this should be an interesting/fun anime |

| Might need to rewatch this again on a better uncensored version. The anime is slightly toned down but got the main tone right at least. I read this manga awhile ago and surprisingly enough, they're finally adapting this. That ED song is a stylish piece of work though LOL |

| Not much to say about this show so far. It is an isekai, so my expectations are super low to begin with. Make sure you're getting the uncensored version. My main concern is MC. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to close any deals. |

| Never read a chapter of the original manga because i do not like much Maybe works, so this first episode was totally new to me, well, not impressed at all, moreover the MC is a fucking retard beta character, i really hate such kind of clichè, however, the ED show and harem of many different girls, also monster girls and demons, and moreover AT-X version is fully uncensored, so i will give it more episodes (and hopefully MC will change from beta to alpha). |

| Bro had like 10 opportunities to say he loved Hime before she left lmao. Just talk man. I love the reverse isekai into isekai set up, I just don’t like the MC so far. Gets way too flustered about every little thing especially since he and Hime have been so close for so long. But hopefully he’ll get out of that somewhat Little nip slip during the bath scene? Interest is even more piqued. Hilarious how Hime goes into Satou’s bath and then complains about him looking at her 🤦🏽♂️ For it being his first time fighting, Satou did well against the one monster at the start, it’ll be interesting to see how things go against a full on assault. Looks like kisses act as power ups with the ring’s abilities Fanservice on point, character designs on point, good art, interesting story, I’m sold. Friend of mine been trying to get me to read this for a while just haven’t had the time. ED has 5 waifus so I’m hoping we get full on harem here. Has potential for sure. One of my fave first episodes so far. |

| I'm totally new to this one, but the trailer piqued my interest. The first episode was decent at setting things up, and the relationship between Satou and Hime is what made it for me. She literally chose Satou to be her world's "hero" because of the ten years they spent together. I am looking forward to how the story progresses and meeting the other girls from the OP/ED. Both are great, but that ed is looking hot. |

| Having read the manga I was happy to see that they were doing an adaptation. Don't expect any deep entertainment here folks, this show will rise and fall on the strength of how well they adapt the girls. Animate them well and there'll be plenty of eye candy and service. Pleased to see that CR got an uncensored version too. |

| I appreciate all that info by KANLen09 at the top of this thread, going into this I had no idea the mangaka also made those series, both of which I really liked, “To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts” I watched weekly in the good ol summer of 2019 before I was making MAL posts, and “Dusk Maiden of Amnesia” I actually watched very recently during October 2023 for the spooky time which I really loved, so it’s cool to be seeing another series by the same mangaka in 2024, I just so happened to have seen his other series’ shows already lol. All that aside, this was a great first episode, art and animation are both very nice so far and I like our MC Satou quite a bit already, I appreciate that he didn’t stand there and watch his babe leave and ran in the portal after her lol, and upon arriving in her world he gets that kiss and was handed a sword to immediately slay a monster, he didn’t have much time to collect himself but what a great start to an Isekai adventure lol. And I was surprised to see this was uncensored on Crunchyroll, it was just nipples but that’s still nice to see, this has me excited for the future fanservice to come, definitely lots of uncensored goodness this season lol. I also noticed Hime’s grandpa is voiced by Megane’s VA from Urusei Yatsura, I see that he’s been in a lot of stuff but this is the first time I recognized him without having to check, the screech he made was what really made it click for me lol. That was a good OP and ED too, nice to see another song by AliA so soon, I really liked their ED for “Our Dating Story” last season. This oughta be a fun way to kick off Saturday’s anime going forward! |

Special thing was the grandfather's reaction. | Not only did they kiss in episode one but they kissed twice! That is unusual enough to merit further viewing. Also a nice explanation of how the hero from Earth is going to be able to effective wield medieval weapons without any prior experience. |

| Interesting first episode with Satou running after Hime through a portal and then eventually becoming the ring king. The ending has him going into another battle but at least the ring he has on gives him great power (and kisses). Hopefully it'll be more than kisses later on considering he's risking his life lol (and more girls based on the harem tag and the ED). |
