Well, it's no surprise that Isaku wants to be with Keiya. Worst kept secret in the show.

However, this episode also took a closer at glance at Kaori and her past with Keiya. Not a bad episode but from Isaku's point of view, it didn't change much about Isaku/Keiya's relationship.

Lmao. Keiya really left Kaori just there because Isaku had school the next day.

One day, realizing Keiya had been suppressing his feelings towards her, Isaku was thrown into a state of panic. Somehow, Keiya's affiliation with the yakuza no longer seemed relevant, and Isaku found herself confused about wanting to be with him. Should she gather the courage to be with him despite the circumstances? Isaku wanted to seek advice from someone, but the fact that Keiya was a yakuza remained a secret. At that moment, she couldn't help but recall the face of Kaori, a woman she had encountered at the cultural festival, who seemed to have a connection with Keiya.

I used to think Kaori was manipulative, but Keiya, why did you do that? Why get involved with someone like that? I have to say, it's really erotic to go from princess carry to pushing someone onto the bed and licking their hand. Keiya is truly popular... It's kind of tough with so many women around. So I would say confession successful?

That final scene... I don't know if I should be rooting for them, or be against it.

Animation wasn't too bottom of the barrel for once, at least for "Project No.9 and this specific anime" standards. Although Isaku's phone seems to have a fancy Schrödinger's camera arrangement.

Two cameras to the left, and a flash at the top right. Got it!

Uh... I mean, two cameras at opposite corners, flash at the top right, and also an antenna band. Got it!

Oh jeez, I mean no antenna band, two cameras to the left side of the camera bump, BIG flash to the center right. Got it!

We've all seen this anime at it's worst, so this was refreshingly "just barely average", instead of "literal dumpster of reject cels that were recovered from becoming lost media". Though... Kaori had to show up in the same room as Isaku, which means the budget had to momentarily drop to $5 Canadian. Isaku temporarily rented out a red hair band to wear between cuts, which looks snazzy, except that she damned it to hell after a single shot.

No band.

Band.

No band.

Also, Kaori summons in a poorly masked texture for a frame, which is neat.

And her jaw rattles on after she's done talking, as always.

Of course once she's gone (Not just from the scene, but from Isaku's head), and the slop turns back into "just bad". I am NOT going to show a frame of Keiya trying to make out with Isaku, as that shit just goes straight off a cliff into "Okay Google, call the fucking police!" territory. God, I want out so bad. I love romance anime, but not fuckin' like this!!

Ahem (Pushing my opinions to the side now), so, people who like this sort of anime, how was the execution so far in your opinion, and how does it stack up to your favorites? And to the manga readers, how faithful is the adaptation so far? Not animation-wise, but plot and writing-wise. I wanna get a feel of things before the anime is done airing, since the tides will likely turn one way or the other by the end, at least in the eyes of people who are more forgiving of this anime than I am.

It's painfully clear that Keiya wants Isaku, though he'll continue to be her dog until she reveals her secret.

Isaku is semi-consciously putting pressure on herself since she also likes Keiya, but the romance tropes sure puts her way back, and what's worse is the Yakuza gang's granddaughter and a yakuza man together, it's a relationship that would fall apart. Her remembering one of the club hostess girls of Kaori Sekiya looking for him from the school festival, Isaku gives it a shot and prepares to meet her.

Even Kaori knows Isaku's game, though the former provides her input of how Keiya looked to her when she met him for the first time thanks to the Senagumi gang frequenting one of the clubs at the time. In particular, Kaori taking fancy at Keiya and made her world around him, though he is quite the guardian when it comes to the still-growing Isaku. It was a good talk between young women, and Isaku going back home to see Keiya's room, with a portion filled with her past memories.

With Isaku finally letting go and indirectly confessing her love to Keiya, it's going to be a rather messy relationship...

@Daviljoe193 this show is definitely written for the Shoujo demographic (which this market has been long gone) since it's a rather typical rom-com but with an Ikemen BF angle so to speak. The manga's pacing has been rather iffy, but at least the translation to anime's execution was decent. But be prepared to be whack-a-mole time and time again (if you continue with the manga) because it has all the qualities of a Shoujo-focused rom-com where ladies LOVE bad guys, only to be dick-slapped for being scummy (which is realistic to RL).

So they finally started doing what they should’ve been doing from the start, giving us some actual relationship development with isaku and Keiya. Isaku’s finally stopped being stupid and realised Keiya clearly has a thing for her that goes beyond the overbearing guard dog meme. But is she ready for what’s next?

Isaku obviously didn’t like finding out that Keiya had slept with Kaori, but their meeting scene was hilarious. Can’t believe this mf Keiya left her to go get ready to take Isaku to school. Even back then bro was insanely protective. Even Kaori couldn’t do anything but laugh.

That ending wow, things are getting very spicy here. Keiya clearly isn’t holding back anymore.. will we finally see them take the next step..?

Animation and direction was especially bad in this episode. It’s always been weak, but this one was one of the worst imo. So many scenes where they hold shots of faces way too long and create awkward moments. Then isaku’s facial model in some scenes was so off.. just really wish this would’ve got a better adaptation.

I love the forbidden love set up, but they’ve done absolutely nothing with it other than a few gags here and there. Like the whole thing is a massive red flag to everyone on the outside and it would be really cool to see isaku and Keiya grappling with their feelings/balancing that with other people’s reactions. I feel like 11 episodes in and this is really the first actual plot development. Blonde hair dude could’ve been a big part, but they just laugh off his attempted rape.. there’s potential in the story but they’re not living up to it rn.

@KANLen09 I know for damn sure that the whole Ikemen BF angle is something I generally don't like (Though I'm actively looking for exceptions, besides Kamisama Hajimemashita), which looking through my own list made pretty clear to me (It's almost all soft bois, strong women, or good 'ol gay love, with no clear demographic bias). I'm in too deep now to skip the manga, so I'll probably check it, even if I know it's not something I'll like. While I'm still trying to poke holes in it like swiss cheese, this adaptation ain't all bad. The soundtrack is pleasant, and the voice acting is fairly good (Except for Kaori, who I'll just pretend doesn't exist for the sake of not invalidating my compliment on the voice acting). It's just the fact that the manga (From what little I've seen) has this astonishingly beautiful artstyle, and yet here Project No.9 is just asleep at the wheel, seemingly letting the animators do their job while shitfaced on the cheapest sake that Japanese minimum wage can just barely afford to buy.

Honestly don't know why I'm watching this but I'm already into deep.

Animation wasn't as bad as the last few episodes so that's a good thing but it shouldn't be. I'm not one to notice bad animation unless it's completely noticeable so this is a big problem. The standard from Project No.9 is well... something alright.

Overall, the episode was alright, it didn't really add that much to Isaku's relationship with Keiya until the end obviously and we got a glimpse at Keiya in the past. The next two episodes will most likely solidify their relationship.

It is like the last scenes they entirely forgot to animate them.

Keiya is so damn weird....took me a moment to figure him licking Isaku's hand is him imitating a dog.

I don’t really have much to say about the art and animation in this one that wasn’t already said in that highly detailed post earlier in the thread, but it was definitely not good once again lol. Content was kinda interesting tho, I liked Kaori’s backstory with Keiya, so he actually did sleep with her but was never actually in a relationship with her, and it was funny how he left because Isaku had school the next morning lol.

But that ending tho, I like that things are moving forward between the two of them now but that last scene was so weird with Isaku trying to keep Keiya’s tongue away lol, the artwork didn’t help it at all either, I’m honestly not sure what I was supposed to feel there. And I hate to admit it, but I’m glad this show is almost over with, it’s been a bit of a pain to watch ever since episode 3 since Project No.9 just doesn’t give a shit about this show, maybe I’ll need to check out their other shows from this season that apparently didn’t get this treatment and I happened to not pick to restore my faith in them lol.

YES, FINALLY!
Here we are brothers and sisters and other gender siblins, she finally let him "do what he wants" and overwhelm the literal child he is "parenting" after trying to eat her out.
Don't negate it, we are at episode 11 of an anime about a fetichised (and fetichiser) teenager and her 26yo boyfriend, this is what we waited for and it's brilliant, same intensity of a problematic BL manga.

Isaku needed a push and she got it from Kaori. Kaori’s version of the past with Keiya was nice.

Isaku said yes to Keiya and he was all set to pounce.
