This final episode was great. I can't wait to see Shinra and Arthur's new power-up in action.

The reveal of the White Clad's "Destroyers" was also crazy. If the regular White Clad and Protectors weren't strong enough, we now have a group that is seemingly focused on 'destroying' the enemy? Lots to look forward to in the next season.

Also, caught that iconic Soul Eater moon at the end. I think Maka's dad was a simple cameo, but that moon definitely means something big. Maybe a re-watch of Soul Eater is in order before Season 3 comes out. Great Stuff!

Not really hyped about it. It was an OK show and no more. Not meant for everyone. Wouldn't rewatch it but I can see myself recommending it here and there.
I don't know what a signature is.

Was a good season finale. The training fight was so good and the ending was full of hope despite the Evangelist's plan going in motion.
Poor old man masochism tho, that death was rough. I also find hilarious how prominently Sho was featured on the openings and the key visual yet he did nothing through the season lol.

First we got Shinra and Arthur in a fundoshi, now Benimaru in the onsen, cannot complain. Balancing all the boobs in this show is a serious matter.

The granpa captain died horribly but I'm sure he enjoyed that.

+ Action/animation was immaculate. Story progressed and focused on interesting side characters. Plenty of shocking, bloody scenes. Badass OP songs.
- Usual asinine comic relief. Some useless filler episodes. Horrible ED themes. Pretty abrupt, half-assed ending.

Overall a better, darker season than the first.

The last episode of Fire Force Season 2, “Signs of Upheaval,” brings the season to an emotional and action-packed close, blending the series’ signature themes of camaraderie, determination, and explosive battles. While it leaves viewers excited for what’s to come, it also provides a satisfying conclusion to many of the season’s key arcs.

That near death state Benimaru had Shinra and Arthur tap into was cool. It totally exuded that "final hurrah" vibe. But for Shinra to have an Adola link with Captain Hague as he was being killed...That's nuts.

We got introduced to a new type of White Clad, the destroyer, and we got to see Sho move around again. He still seems to be under the evangelists thumb, but it's better than being Haumea's toy.

Overall, Season 2 of Fire Force was a great sequel. I liked all the cool dynamics we got to explore, all the new fire powers that were introduced and the further development of this cast of characters. This show having so many dark skin characters and treating them well is a undervalued positive aspect that I hadn't seen brought up. All I knew before going into it, was that the internet really didn't like Tamaki. But she too got her shine this season! My favorite moments would have to be the Three-Way Melee because I love the trope of good guys and bad guys teaming up against the bigger threat, and Ogun vs Tempe because I enjoyed his barrage of punch's and "ORA" shouts.

This was a nice finale. The hype for season three has surely been set ablaze!

I decided finish this on a Friday like the good ol’ days when Seasons 1 & 2 aired, but thankfully this isn’t the last time like it was back in 2020, next Friday it’s finally time, I can’t believe I’m typing that lol, but it really is almost upon us, as someone that never did read the manga and have been waiting for this story to continue for nearly 5 years, I can’t wait.

But for at least a week, I’m left with this final episode of Season 2, and ngl it is a bit surprising this season didn’t end with an arc like Season 1 did, but I guess that’s just how things lined up, and the revelations in this finale are very big so it’s still pretty satisfying. Biggest thing is the elephant in the room, or should I say moon in the room lol, because yeah that’s the Soul Eater moon, I remember back in 2020 this surprised the hell out of me, I was like “wait do I gotta watch Soul Eater now” lol, and I eventually did in 2022 in preparation for Season 3, but man that really is such an out of pocket reveal, besides the Death Scythe reference there really has been no connection to Soul Eater until now, and even then I’m not sure if this means it’s connected or not, but still it is such a cool reveal to show as the very last scene of the season, and it got to me to watch Soul Eater so I can thank it for that lol.

Rest of the episode was basically just Shinra and Arthur training with Benimaru, some cool scenes there, especially Shinra’s awakening to the power moment, also Benimaru whooping ass which looked really good, but man it’s sad that among the training we lost Captain Hague, he wasn’t the most flashy of captains but he was cool, a badass old man traditional fire fighter, but he was driven mad by his obsession with Adolla, really not sure why the cultists are going after those that saw Adolla but RIP, I will say tho I do respect killing important characters, even if Hague wasn’t a main character, this does make things feel more real, like we might actually lose someone beloved next time. And lastly, the white-clad may be rallying up with Sho back on the field and Yona revealing his ugly mug, but the Fire Force is now more united than ever, including Haijima, the world is working together to stop evil and it really makes me hyped, and the first OP Inferno playing at the end was just the cherry on top, it was already nostalgic in 2020 but it’s even more-so now.

And since this post is big enough already, I’ll keep my season review short. Needless to say it was another banger rewatch, no complaints from me besides a thing or two in the previous arc, overall it was a ton of fun once again just like Season 1, I really like all the new characters introduced too, even if I want to punch Inca sometimes lol. OP and ED choices were all absolute heat too, we didn’t get any intense rockers again unfortunately but they were all amazing and fitting for Fire Force nonetheless, ED 2 especially grew on me on the rewatch. And now… Season 3 awaits, this was a great nostalgic rewatch but I’m ready for new stuff now, I know it’ll be over before I know it but I need next Friday now lol.

So for Shinra and Arthur become stronger, they need to feel a like death experience. At the same time they were training, the Captain from the 4th Divison Hague, was killed, and with an Adolla Link, Shinra was able to feel that like death experience really well (I don't know about Arthur though, I guess he just felt it with the training).
Was surprised to see they are killing a Captain, but it is indeed a surprising way to end the season. This ending also feels a lot like we're reaching the end, which makes sense, since the 3rd season is going to be the last one.
I wonder why Haumea and Charon weren't with the rest of the White Clad in that attack they're doing in Tokyo City. I also wonder what's their plan, since weren't they going to destroy the city when they got the 8 pillars either way?

Now, overall, I enjoyed this season, probably as much as the 1st season (I watched the 1st season almost 6 years ago, so I don't remember it that well). The best part of this anime really are the battles and animation, they always nail the battle choreography and the artstyle too, it's cool when they make those artstyle changes for some segments. That is really cool. The overall setting is also interesting. Then the anime feels a bit incongruent with the way it portrays things, sometimes is really light-hearted, sometimes it becomes quite dark. I especially don't like how they sometimes just start killing characters for the sake of it, without giving it the proper impact it should have in the anime. It also falls under many Shounen troopes, and many times they aren't even done that well.
Some parts of the story are also a bit questionable, and some characters just seem to not be doing anything for the anime.
I just feel like I don't particularly vibe with the way the story develops and with how the characters are presented.
But at the end of the day, the anime was really enjoyable to watch, and I'm glad I won't have to wait 5 years to watch the 3rd season, that is being released right now, since the anime captivated my attention to at least see the end of the story.

With this said, I'm giving this season the same score I gave the 1st season, a 7/10, since I don't feel like this new season was much different from the 1st (especially with the 2nd part of the 1st season).

Curious to see if the 3rd season will maintain these characteristics from these past 2 seasons, even if they are 5 years apart.

Finally re-watched both seasons to prepare for season 3.

Overall, still a good way to end the season, though probably would've been better if the new season didn't take 5 years for 12 episodes. I'm sure there's some studio drama going on, especially Covid related since season 2 was in 2020.

Anyway, maybe finally the protagonist will stop being so useless for a change with the new power-up. Even the dumb knight has had more "moments of cool" than the guy with fiery feet (dumbest power ever).
