| Well, all the show did was meander around it's simplistic mysteries and left off with a really big face-punching cliffhanger so I do imagine youd feel like this was a waste of time. |

But like don't the majority of the victims in rapes undergo despair because no one came in and saved them? I think that's the pov the author tried to insert us in & if you feel betrayed then it worked.

I'm actually ok with the situation as him walking away. So many victims never get justice. But a good story needs to have a point to the moments in it. Kiroko has already had senseless violence done to them. More than once, the author gave no reason for writing this scene besides drama. It's disrespectful to victims to use SA as a vehicle for convenient drama. As if, "he's a boy in a girl's body and girls get rped, so dur๐" it's disingenuous and the moment plays no role in furthering themes or changing Kiriko character. That's what disappoints me.
| @L_Jeans I saw many contributors here and on reddit who have apparently experienced in the part sexual assault and all of them said that how the rape is described and how Kiruko reacted after that is pretty realistic and that they appreciated that it's the case. I never saw anyone claiming to have experiance sexual assault and be offended by the way it was described in this show. Maybe they did not want to talk about it, absence of proof is not proof of absence. But still it seems to be reaching much to far to say that "It's disrespectful to victims" if the so called victims say the contrary. As for Kiruko's reaction, it's been discussed a lot, you'll find many threads here explaining why it is so and why it's pretty realistic. And it changes Kiruko. You cannot see it if you only watched the anime since there was a single episode after the assault, but it's clear in the manga. |
