lol thanks, most of its infamy is for a large age-gap with a seemingly possessive relationship |

it's not the greatest storyline there's mostly 3 things 1. the age gap she's like 15-16 and he's 26 there are great stories with this 10yr age gap that, although uncomfortable and disgusting, work. the manga about the suicidal jk has a big age gap too but it's very good 2. their relationship he is her caretaker they met when she was 5 and he was 15 he's been taking care of her ever since, which makes their relationship sibling-like, he even tells her that he is her mother, father, brother, boyfriend, Everything 💀 she's been groomed 3. he is a yandere he is obsessed with her because she needs him (as a body guard) he's been abandoned in the past and now has someone who needs him and he loves being need so when she goes to school alone, he flips💀 ml needs therapy and a lot of work I (me, myself, and I) could let the age gap slide IF their relationship wasn't built in grooming will i watch? most likely, I'm up to date with the manga (i was bored one night) so why not do i like it? hellno |

Others have mentioned why before. It’s age gap m, but it’s also Hatsuharu, who isn’t the best writer either. The anime might improve on it. There’s better Yakuza love stories out there though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

I'm not a particular fan of this type of problematic romance shenanigan's but I will say it tries so hard to be, I don't want to say "edgy" but the page that is circling around Twitter right now, I'll be honest. It made me laugh with how hard it's going on that age gap incest heavy and pushing the groomer card as all hell. It doesn't feel sincere when it's trying to lean in. (even if she wasn't a child, it'd be weird as hell having a man tell you he'd replace your whole family LIKE SIR???). And I contrast that with the other shoujo anime that's going on this season that nobody is batting an eye at and is really popular with that crowd on socmed: Sugar Apple Fairy Tale The age gap is there, the creepy undertones of how helpless and clueless our MC girl be because she's a teenager, our 100+ year old faerie protector. I mean it's all here, the packaging is just more sincere and less like it's trying go into creep territory. And personally Sugar Apple Fairy Tale is pretty average but only because it's writing is kind of all over the place not because it has all that weird shit. |

@AnIme_M1lfShaKe It's extra annoying because the show hasn't even aired yet, like at least wait until it comes out first before you start whining I also don't buy a lot of the "controversy" around it either because the anime community has way worse stuff that seemingly slides by without a problem, I'm sure if it wasn't a shoujo and if the genders were swapped no one would bat an eye |

Idk why people are using "Twitter user" as a pejorative like they do with "SJW" over people not liking a show that features a gross age gap. If you're into it, fine; it's fiction and no one is getting hurt. But it's strange to act as if others are the weirdos for being grossed out. Part of enjoying taboo media is accepting the fact that it's taboo, not trying to act like it's normal or ok |

everything is controversial and should be cancelled tbh if youre an orphan adopted by a dude and so much as blush if your dad carries you, youre being sexualised if your 7 yr old friend has a very obviously gag and normal crush on your said hot dad its also bad and problematic if youre having a nightmare and see a scene of your wife who you met as an adult as a child mindbreaking you its clearly proof you actually groomed her and thus a problematic anime if youre a 40 yr old mom who died and reincarnate as a 10 yr old and have a 10 yr old kid in love with you thats also obviously pedophilla but on the flip side if u want to get together with your old husband thats also pedophilla should just die alone for daring to be reincrnated tbh |

The modern Western society thrives on conflict. Where there's the slightest possibility of arguing about something, it's gonna take it by the balls. Akari Kitou is 28. Everything else is a fictional animated character. That's pretty much where the line should be drawn. No one cares if you found it morally questionable. Art is art. But I guess projecting reality into fiction is a very popular thing to do these days, as is equating one to another. SMH. |

It's literally not grooming, so sick of hearing morons throw this term out for any sort of age gap. For it to be grooming there would have to be a clear and purposeful intent of raising her to be a romantic partner, and this is objectively not true. He certainly has his issues, but at the start of the story it's a completely one sided romantic love. If you're reading into every little thing he does as being creepy, I would wager it has a lot to do with how you think of men in general. |

This show just confirmed what's already been obvious for years now. Project no. 9's just a garbage fire of a studio that's only been able to make a single barrable show (Love After World Domination). It's a miracle that they're still around. I hope the animators are at least treated ok enough. |

There are people spreading misinformation about this anime. First, the ML is a guardian of sort for the FL. He doesn't like her romantically yet. Second, this anime's relationship (future romance) works in Japan as age of consent is lower than 18. Third, the age gap between them is 9 years. She's 16 or 17 and he's 26. Finally, the rumors of the ML being a pedophile is because of the intro were ML takes the role of the guardian of the FL and then lifts her while promising her to protect forever. This is kinda typical of Yakuza to make such declarations. Definitely not a romantic one. If you watch the remaining episode he's just seen taking care of her, like a doting father. Neither the ML or FL show any signs of romantic interest towards each other. I'm writing this so that the misinformation doesn't grow and also, I'm not simping for this show(I think its just average run of the mill cliche plot with good art). |

@LostSpectre This this this! I read the manga and he doesn't raise her to be with him. He protects her and watches over her her entire life. It's honestly just twitter brain rotters seething at things they don't like per usual. Best to ignore them. Shows like this tend to gatekeep themselves. |

Just gonna put it out there that the Cardcaptor Sakura manga has a 30-year old(i'm not sure bout this) male teacher and a 12 year old student in a relationship. So there's weirder stuff. The only thing that offends me about this show is the animation(which is pretty bad). |

@angel1309 whenever i see people calling romance shows bad, that usually means i will like them. People tend to hate romance shows where things happen so thats usually a good indicator that i will like a show. @MK17_2 in today's world, everyone is groomed, especially women. it's kind of amazing when you think about it. The only why I don't like the show is because it's just kinda boring with no tension other than whiny people saying "he's her caretaker" |
