So I'm currently reading Holyland, and I rushed through it in less than a day (125 chapters of 182). I don't exaggerate when I say this is great and a true masterpiece in every sense.

Dororo (a 60's manga) received an anime adaptation this year, so it did Vinland Saga after 15 years. So, can Holyland receive a faithful adaptation? I mean, the story is GREAT, and if correctly done, the fights could be awesome, trying to show what the manga does with Kamishiro.

Has there ever been any rumour of this manga getting an anime adaptation?

Of course there are possibilities to make anime of this. The problem is that Holyland's plot is not very profitable and has many chapters.

There has been drama adaptations if you're interested. There's a korean one too.

Are those adaptations worth the time? I really loved the manga, and if they aren't complete garbage, I might watch them.

I've only seen the Korean one and I love it. I watched that before I know the original is a Japanese manga. There're only 4 episodes and imo it adapted very well. It didn't derail from the plot (from the first 10 chapters of the manga that I've read so far) and the characters and appearances and personalities all match their original. The fight scenes are well done too.

To be honest it might be a really cool anime if it's adapted, but I think it's unlikely.

No I don't think it would really work in anime format. Every hit in a fight would be animated in slow motion with monologues over it, that would be tedious.

I'm sorry but the monologues and expositions that the author puts in sometimes really make the pacing of fights themselves awkward, and the author does a lot of self-insertion into the manga, so it'd also be pretty awkward for an anime watcher to hear the author talk about himself quite literally in his own work, unless the adaptation itself cuts all that which I think is what makes Holyland sorta unique? Anyways it's unlikely, if it does, let's just hope it's from a studio that could pull it off.

Holyland is fr the manga I fantasize the most receiving an adaptation.
I agree its monologues is the reason studios never picked this up, however on paper Kaiji and Akagi are seemingly more difficult to adapt due to its narration & monologues and Madhouse absolutely nailed both adaptations.

I feel like the goats at Madhouse are eligible to adapt this despite them not being in their golden era, same goes for Production I.G. I don't care how much narration is necessary to discard, as long as this gets picked up by either 2 studios (and not some no-name shit studio like Mir lmao) my life would be complete

We gonna have to wait and see. It's one of those series that would produce interesting outcomes as an anime series no matter what.
