| It sure looks very good and interesting on the trailers, but I doubt it will change the general trend in the anime industry. People like things they are used to, and usually don't see any new techniques as something that could become a standard approach in the future. Look at very vocal group of CGI haters, in example. Or go back to the times when Aku no Hana anime was released. Many people were critical mostly about the animation technique (rotoscoping) used in this anime, and its art style (realistic art). |

| So, not as a horror for its story itself, but for black and white anime? Maybe a little. As for inspiration from the story, I do think it'll have some impact. Although, even if it's Junji Itou's most popular work, it's not great due to its flaws, but it is incredibly intriguing and a fun experience. I was disappointed by the manga, but I'm still looking forward to watching it in animation. Hopefully some scenes are excluded since they don't make sense with the general idea of everything going in a chaotic spiral. |
