| Monika has some good reactions. Then again, she is a spy who should have those skills in the first place from what she's learned With the amount of focus on her character, it does feel like they wanted to flesh out her personality more. Almost feels like this was a standalone episode. |

| This anime show needs to drop everything it's doing with all the other characters right now, and just focus all the remaining episodes on that new white haired, red eyed hot spy girl. Also, yes, Monika kinda does struck me as a kind of rich girl that's so bored of her privileged life that she joins an army inteligence. |

| After that mission its no wonder that they start suffering suffering from mental strain. Getting into the lab via the heads kid huh creative. The insight into Monika's upbringing and what led her to become a spy was pretty insightful. It seems that nearly every member of Lamplight had a member of inferno as their main motivations. Thats some nice skills that the empire's CI division have access too. Quite the tricky situation that Glint ended up in but glad that she managed to outfight her opponents. |

| Now that they adapted all of volume 3, they are back with the side stories, this time Monika's. I wonder if next episode will be a side-story as well, or will they finally start the arc from volume 4. |

| This was a great episode to learn about Monika and her past life and it was great to see her go back and save that boy and his dad and not abandon them |
| Eyyyy we finally got to learn of Monika's backstory and even her birthday in this episode! Crazy to think she almost made it into Homura! Also it turns out her birthday was last week Thursday :O HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MONIKA xD  |

Very faithful to the source material, there are 10 main volumes + 4 SS volumes out after all. But his was a given, it's pretty obvious how Kadokawa had them make this, 4 eps per season were decided to have a character songs, so they could sell 4 CDs (each with 2 character songs), expect Annette, Thea and Lily eps soon. |
| This must have been a side story episode because I don’t remember any of this from the books lol. This actually flows really well though considering how big Monika was in the last volume. Going into a side story that fleshes her out is a good decision. Loved the narrative of the episode. Seems like the general theme of being a spy is that by having someone that looks up to and admires you, you can really grow as a person and spy. Klaus did it with Lamplight. Monika did it with Matel, happens a few other times in the series as well. Opening yourself up and making connections gives you true strength and motivation. Monika’s issue was never talent, it was pure mental. She’s finally overcome that. Monika best girl. Evangelion reference is crazy lmao  |

| They should have told us why she into girls and who's that crew member she has a crush on.. though it ain't that difficult to guess but still. Anyways, hope they don't continue with their old habit of adapting side stories and side stories alone, like they did with the horror which was the first season. |

| let's gooo. we got a monika centered episode!! i wonder if we'll get another after since usually there's a couple episodes for each girl. but it end a pretty closed off/good ending, so probably not. still curious who it is she likes though. maybe thea or grete? im really not sure |

| This was a pretty good Monika focused episode. She may be the strongest spy among the girls although I've thought that Grete was closest to being like Klaus. I'm glad that she decided to help out the son and dad after she had gotten the information she was looking for and luckily she only suffered a couple of scratches from the fight. I liked how all the girls showed their respect when she said she has a plan to take down Klaus, maybe we'll see how that turns out next episode. |

We know tho, the reason is how the vol 1 works with Erna. In vol 1 most characters aren't even named, so by not being a visual medium the author could hide the fact there was 1 more. The anime being a visual medium had no way to do it, so the only way they had to stay true to the source material twist was cutting the Erna parts then adapt those on ep 4 (that are the cut parts of vol 1).. all the main volumes got 4 eps so far. There's a reason the jp fan base called this series impossible to adapt, they did what they could. |

| It's not the first time in this anime it seems they often chose inexplicable behavior just to make more action scenes : when Monika can easily shoot on the 2 immobile enemy spies, she prefers to... destroy the lights instead. Those kind of things really bother me, what a pity imho. |

| The Glint Monika's episode, she has her own mission to deal with as well after the affair with Annette. Her mission being to extract information from the Endy Laboratory's engineer of Jordan Cupca and his son Mattel, whom the latter has targets already at his back., and someone who has aspirations to be like his father in the future. As for Monika, her array of talents got the attetion of people, just not on quality, and reverted to the ways of the spy, though she still fell short of expectations. Just like what was documented from the Endy Laboratory, their human experimentations are not getting the better of Jordan, though he wants to defect to the Republic badly because of this. Monika, having half-assed her way through and through, it feels like whatever she's doing, she'll never overcome the sloppy image of being the subpar spy. The fire that lit inside her heart (apart from the Evangelion reference) causes her to save both father and son against the Imperial spies, which Mattel now has sole confidence that he wants to be like her. And Grete asking Monika to reflect upon the reason why she still sticks in Lamplight, apart from her "frightenly magnificent" math calculations, Klaus made the right choice to hire her after his colleague failed to realize her cold heart, that changes within the group of girls. A nice side show for Monika. |

| This was good enough to watch twice. Monika was my favorite from the 1st season (not just because she wears shorts, and boots) I even like how she's voiced. I can relate really strongly to being good at stuff, like as a "jack of all trades master of none" sort of way, and backing out when things don't work out or start going south is a real thing. She seems more mature than the other girls. Also her being contrarian is relatable... she's a really strong character. I thought when the gunshot went off she had nailed that lady in the head haha. But non-lethal attacks are more fun anyway. Her heart telling her to stand up and fight was a really powerful moment. |

| Wow monika definitely has grown since shes joined the crew, especially mocking klaus to a certain degree. Its interesting to see how far she'll grow. Also too bad she can;t battle that white haired girl who made her realize her limits. Assuming she was apart of Inferno shes probably dead. |
