This week we finally have Koharu the newly voiced idol of Cinderella Girls as well as her knight Hyou-kun the iguana finally making a live animated appearance in the whole series too!
What a fortunate episode πππππ
As shown from the episode preview that was uploaded literally 6 hours before airing, we got Karin making a return guest appearance and followed with Aiko as well with their Indigo Bell unit!
This week features Koharu appearing as a guest for an animal feature programme at a park!
We start off interestingly with a small cut of Koharu's memory where she is lost and found by someone who was like a Princess, which develops her love for Princesses.
She always wishes upon a star like a Princess and a fair amount of times, what she wishes for comes true.
It was nice we get to see how Hyou-kun came abouts because I don't think they touch upon that within the main series, neither in the game either with the communications you can see with each idol.
For Koharu tho, when she saw Hyou-kun at the pet shops at the window for the first time, it was love at first sight! And it's nice her mum got it for her despite being scared of reptiles most likely ahahah
Koharu brings in Hyou-kun to the office for the first time and garners interest from the other girls, Producer and Risa tho taking refuge ahahahahah
Producer receives a job for a role on a programme so long as the person partaking brings an interesting animal hence why Producer asks her if she would be interested in the role and to bring Hyou-kun along as well which she agrees quickly.
The show begins and we get have Aiko and Karin introducing Koharu onto the stage, of which Karin as clutzy as ever, ends up stumbling at introducing her. Koharu would go onto the stage and Hyou-kun frightens Karin which makes her fall over, to which Koharu goes to see if she's okay but stumbles too!
Koharu uses all her might to lift herself with one hand so that Hyou-kun doesn't get hurt and this as well shows just how much Koharu cares for her knight in shining armour!
Karin would get up to see if Koharu is okay and....ends up tumbling again like she usually does π
Kids in the crowd would go up to try holding Hyou-kun and at a surprise, Koharu would look at the crowd and feel this funny floaty feeling inside, most likely realizing how exciting this all is.
It was cute as well seeing Momoka and Chie help sell the merchandise of the stuffed iguanas to children too.
The feature finishes and Koharu is in awe at remembering what it was like on stage, then a pink butterfly comes in and takes her attention but would leave the dressing room to follow it, eventually getting lost.
Producer realizes this after he checks up on her but unfortunately, Koharu's phone is in her bag...which is in the dressing room so she is definitely lost. Him and the other two go to find her and Chie sends a text to the other girls that she went missing but unfortunately, they were watching a Cinderella-type movie and so didn't see the message.
Koharu would go around trying to look for the butterfly and sees other animals too that remind her of the other girls in the division and finds it cute.
Producer and co. would continue looking but it all becomes confusing because many other kids in the area also have that iguana plushy, of which one girl in particular from behind looked like Koharu and Producer called out to her in mistake π
It starts raining and Koharu is forced to take shelter in a little gazebo on top of a lake whilst the rest try to find her.
She tries to wish upon a star that she will be found but unfortunately the sky is blocked by clouds and so she can't wish it.
Eventually, Hyou-kun jumps out of her grasp to go into the rain which makes Koharu lonely and she ends up crying :'(
But upon hearing the cry, a collective amount of animals around the area would come to her aid, almost as if she really is like a Princess in a fairy-tale book!
In her mind, the animals similar to the other girls in the division ask her why she wants to be a Princess and so forth. And a little mini Hyou-kun as well is voiced and Koharu gains some courage, she starts singing the song of her childhood and in comes a new song to the series!
"I'm A Little Princess ~Ohisama ni Onegai~" is the new song made for Koharu for this series and it really is just like a D*sney feature song befitting for the little princess <3
I was really moved by it ahahahahahah
Plus we even got to see her in her SSR as well in the performance too with this one:
It was really magical and I loved it so much too <3
Makes me wonder if perhaps in the future they'll give her an event song along with Hinako and Nono and whatnot because that would be so fitting ahahah
Hyou-kun would end up finding Producer and the other two and Producer mustering up the courage, picks him up so that Hyou-kun can guide them to her.
Koharu ends up falling asleep and is found by everyone, Hyou-kun the first one she sees waking up too and is happy that her knight came to her aid in helping everyone get to her.
They all return back and Koharu hears a girl crying in the park who is lost, of which she goes to aid the girl just like the lady in the beginning (who was I think her mum).
And so Koharu realizes that the princess she wants to become is one who will make others smile :)
We then finish the episode with "Onegai! Cinderella" but this time it's Koharu's new solo cover of it, this is the first time we are hearing this too!
Turns out Hyou-kun is voiced by Naomi Ohzora as well which is Chieri Ogata's VA! I wonder if Chieri will appear in future episodes and like, will she legit be Hyou-kun's actual designated VA for the rest of the series too ahahahahah
Edit: Found out turns out they actually voiced Hyou-kun over at Cinderella Girls Gekijou: Extra Stage already at episode 13 and it happened to be Naomi as well voicing him so I guess as well this is proof that Naomi actually will be Hyou-kun's designated VA ahahahah tho I hope when Koharu appears more in the future that Hyou-kun too will occasionally be voiced as well with!
Definitely a joyous episode with a lot of cuteness and excitement!
I'm so glad for Koharu π
Now we have another 3 girls left in the equation and it'll most likely be Chie or Kaoru next!
I wonder who it'll beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Please note regarding next week's broadcast, it will be a highlights/summary episode and so there won't really be any new content next week. The preview for the next episode will most likely be shown next week instead of this week.
Here's Koharu's cover of "Onegai! Cinderella" in non-credit form:
Those who wanna see Koharu's insert song again, you can find it here:
Koharu and her pet iguana Hyou-kun have proved themselves inseparable after this episode, when it started they seemed like an odd combo but now I can’t imagine them without each other lol. And man, poor Koharu got tempted by the classic butterfly which ended up getting her lost, it’s so fitting for her to get lost chasing a butterfly tho lol.
It seemed okay at first until Hyou-kun left Koharu, which of course made her cry which really hurt to see, but then the shrooms kicked in and she started seeing talking animals, she must’ve listened to BMFS 4/11/21 before the show lol. But, my fantasy of anime girls listening to jam bands wasn’t true and she had fallen asleep before she was finally found, that song she did in her dream was really cute tho. And we got to see Koharu being a princess to someone else like she aspires to be, but I liked her response that she’s an idol who’s like a princess, that’s the next best thing lol. And I really liked her ED, another very cute song.
really enjoy watching this series, there's always something goofy and silly to laugh at.
I didn't expect Koharu to have a pet iguana and they both made the episode a lot of fun.
Definitely not what I was expecting going into to this episode, given that for the most part of what I remember, Koharu was mostly shown drawing in a booklet.
Oh my god this episode genuinely felt like watching a Disney princess show, it was super super cute!!! Koharu deserved this so bad, she is the cutest princess ever, and I love her solo!! I love princesses so this episode really got me lol It reminded me a lot of Sofia the First!!
Kinda weird, seems like this ep has a few more comments than the others
One thing i've been wondering, are the girls in u149 because they are famous, or are they famous because they are in u149? im sure there must have been a few others(?)
I think it was mentioned that koharu didnt even have a voice actor yet before this, i think she's the only one, which is kind of weird. apparently the u149 manga started in 2016? no idea though
thats convenient
actually...so nina, miria, koharu, and i think chie and kaoru all refer to themselves in 3rd person? i know they're like, 11 or 9 but HMMM. oh well.
with soo many guest characters, you would think. but well, there's what, a hundred girls in the whole idolmaster? so even if they had 2 guest characters per episode there would be plenty.
i mean if you think about it. i mean, koharu, well. idk how old they are but its kind of not surprising, and she left her phone behind too, imagine having a phone but forgetting it, and then she wanders off and nobody can find her.
she did mention earlier on in the episode i guess, shoulda known
So yeah some shenanigans
Interestingly because, it seems the ed is just going to be onegai cinderella.
Kind of a weird ep, not entirely sure what to say. koharu is koharu i guess
So far this is the weakest episode for me. I know Idolmaster isn't necessarily down to the earth but the schizo moments are never any good and come off as poorly written.
