It would be one thing if he was provoked or taunted by Canute but that's not the case. We saw him cut down so many men so quickly a few episodes ago and now he can't kill Canute who was right in front of him Good points but smart people do stupid things all the time. Canute wasn't his typical opponent and the occasion may have gotten to him a bit. I agree with you but I'm also pointing out that the plot has outs. |

| Pain... just pain. Arnheid is dead, Einar lost another loved one and now Thorfinn will have to face Canute in order to stop this one-sided massacre. On an unrelated note, the use of rotoscoping during Badger's combat with that Jomsviking looked superb. Clean af. |
| I was really expecting Thorgil to get whacked, glad he didn't as I'm really liking the guy. As for the episode itself, it was amazing yet again! This 2nd season just keeps on delivering! |
| As I expected, Canute survives by virtue of being a main character. He would have been dead for sure if Thorgil didn't stop to make a witty one-liner. Thorgil picked up a career-ending injury as well, unless he's ambidextrous or can learn to fight with his left hand, fast. Did Pater survive? We didn't see him during the skirmish. Hopefully, he did because Team Snake desperately needs a medic. I found myself getting impatient about Arnheid's death in this episode. Feels like they dragged it out long enough but it wasn't that bad I guess. She can finally rest now. Can't wait for the meeting between Thorfinn and Canute! Should be very interesting and I don't think it will go the way Thorfinn wants at all! |
| This show is so damn GOOD man 10/10 wow. The way it handles death, sadness, growth, loss, PTSD etc etc etc is all brilliant. Hats off to the production team. Awesome Snake moments this ep. Canute came in clutch. Rip Arnheid. The saddest part for me was hearing about the baby and then Einar’s reaction and saying “I love you” 😭 Then Thorfinn and Leif man. This show is great. I do really hope Thorfinn returns to Iceland to see his mum and sister above all else!! And hype for next ep, Thorfinn x Canute reunion coming up. |

| Words can't describe how I'm feeling right now, this is a real masterpiece I read the manga a longtime ago, but the anime was just on another level. I will say it one more time anime like Vinland Saga will always remind me of why I fell I love with Japanese animation the first day. |
| I'm a bit annoyed about the narrative choice that the guys get to go and live out Arnheid's dying wish, TBH. |

| Einar has to be the most forgettable, lame character ever. Been a nuisance for 20 straight episodes and a simple plot device for developing Thorfinn's humanity (even then, Thorfinn was already a changed man when they met, so the huge time skip did half of his work for him lol). Other than that, all we got was shitty unrequited love and him acting like a clown. Hope he gets killed off soon. Arnheid was a great example of a tragic character though, wonderful addition to Vinland Saga and sad to see her go. |
