| Think Kircheis death isn't just a way to conclude his story, it’s also a fitting excuse for Reinhard to become a more insanely tyrant. So his death is a necessary evil. |

| I'm here again, mourning my best boy Kircheis. My friend, who's watching with me, also became a Kircheis' fan and is sad and surprised about his death. I still can't believe he dies so soon. Why did they let Ansbach open up the casket and take out shit just like that? I know he said something about a present but you have to be cautious with the dude you were fighting against minutes ago. And when he pull out the weapon, everyone but Kircheis and Oberstein just stood there... Like move guys! Try to seize him! I know they didn't have their guns (stupid call, btw) but come on! And Oberstein truly amazes me. How he can take a tragedy and immediately turn it into a benefit it's just so good. Definitely the guy you want to keep on your side. |

| damn what an episode. from some reason i have hard time with kircheis death. not that it isn't important for reinhard growth, i always saw that kircheish is kinda softening reinhard's ideas while oberstnair helped his darkness grow. but it just unthinkable the series gonna continue without him, it's like second moon of the series had been fallen. the way obsteiner made the commanders making his plan was seriously funny. the way the fleets had been landed on odin was quite the poetic look of government being taken. masterpiece work. oh and i can't ignore reinhard speech, his confidence is sure high that even his own commanders won't think making him his enemy. masterpiece episode. |

| Holy shit when Sieg grabbed that bastards by his arms, I thought no one would die, how foolish of me lol. This show really is unexpected. It's quite likely that Lichtenlade got framed by Oberstein, what a snake (still love him though). |
| i love how all the other admirals blame, hate an despise Oberstein (some of them probably even want to kill him) an yet they know that they need him, lol Oberstein showing up just to roast all of them "you ve had quite a lenghty discussion but you dont seem to have decided anything" an so it begins "if only Kircheis was here" |

| rip Kircheis, a true gigachad and Reinhard's only equal. With his moral compass gone, I assume Reinhard will become much more coldhearted against the Alliance and will be more prone to using sacrificial tactics and nuclear weapons as advised by Oberstein. I can't wait to see Reinhard v Yang Wengli now :D |

| Oh no, poor Kircheis, I really did not expect him to be gone this early in the series, it's pretty crazy how much of a noble worshipper that killer guy was but that trick of hiding whole RPG inside a body and a gun ring is something out of James Bond movies. Can't believe he had a chance but missed, another detail I noticed that Orbstein was ready to take a hit for Reinhard, so maybe he still isn't fully evil or bad as expected. Reinhard's sister deciding to leave was a tough scene to see,but hopefully it will help to develop his characterr and make him rule with fair amount of morality. Overall it seems that this is the end of 1st season, which was a really great ride, this many characters getting introduced both from Empire and Alliance, plus all the plots, coups, conspiracies were great, and this episode probably was best one of this whole great bunch. |

| I'm shocked. I was certain that Siegfried would die at some point, but I didn't expect it to be this soon... Guess I should've been on edge after the previous episode but I was in denial even as he was dying. |

| I'm going to miss Kircheis. I really liked his character... Reinhardt is going to go on a much darker path than Kircheis would ever find acceptable, isn't he? We're already seeing him lash out and being overly harsh. Ordering the death of kids that are simply related to the other dude. |

| Thus ends one of the most epic first seasons in anime history! Sieg's death was completely unexpected and this, in my opinion, shows once again that we are dealing with a mature series that goes beyond the norm and attempts something special. What would have been "the norm"? To see an increasing conflict between the two old friends, which would culminate in the following seasons. But the series didn't confirm this expectation and chose the more subverted path. It's exciting to see the possibilities for Reinhardt's development as a character unfold, now that his best friend and bright support are gone... The only flaw with the first season, in my opinion, was the overflow of characters coming and going, making it difficult at times to keep up with the pace - and worse, to delve into the characters who matter the most. I hope the sequel improves things somewhat in this area - new characters are inevitable in a series of such an epic scope, of course, but there needs to be a balance somewhere - and we already have a great cast to delve into. Beyond that, the series featured excellent writing and mature political commentary. I can't wait for the sequel! |
