Aka Akasaka, the author of "Oshi no Ko" and Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen (Kaguya-sama: Love is War), is pairing with manga artist 5mm Nishizawa for a new manga. Nishizawa posted an illustration on Thursday commemorating the announcement (pictured). The manga, titled Renai Daikou (Love Agency), will begin in the combined 22nd and 23rd issue of Weekly Young Jump on April 27. Akasaka is penning the story, with Nishizawa in charge of the artwork. This marks Nishizawa's first manga serialization. Akasaka began serializing "Oshi no Ko" with manga artist Mengo Yokoyari (Kuzu no Honkai) in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. Shueisha published the 11th volume on March 22. A television anime produced by Doga Kobo premiered on Wednesday. Akasaka ended Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai's seven-year run in Weekly Young Jump last November. Shueisha published the manga in 28 volumes, which have sold a cumulative 22 million copies. A-1 Pictures adapted the manga into three anime seasons between Winter 2019 and Spring 2022. The First Kiss wa Owaranai (The First Kiss That Never Ends) sequel movie opened in Japan on December 17 last year. Source: KAI-YOU, Game Watch Renai Daikou on MAL |

Aka was almost exhausted from finishing Kaguya, because writing two story-filled manga squeezed all the juice out of him, but now he literally started another work in parallel with Oshi no ko? Even completely abandoned illustration, moving on to writing stories because of this. What's the point? Just don't say that the Child will also catch Kaguya's last arcs syndrome because of this. |

After the butchering job he did to Oshi no Ko ending I don’t trust him enough to invest my time in another one of his works. That was flat out malicious what he did to the fans. I think this is where me and “Akasaka, Aka” part ways permanently. |

@fizzletrie Because this is what happened to Kaguya back when he started writing Oshi no Ko and was one of the reasons why so many fans were furious when they heard about the announcement of a new manga after the fall of Oshi no Ko. @CQLLIST @Natsuki_SanJuan Congratulations on the "I knew this wasn't going to end well" achievement. @AlexBen It seems he sincerely expected that the ending would create a huge wow factor and that fans would hotly discuss the ending, giving the end of the manga enough hype to end on a positive note. But he forgot that this also requires effort, and not just making the characters do what you want. |

@RobertBobert i personally am not the biggest fan of kaguya (tried to watch it a few times), but even i was shocked to hear how some people were disappointed with the ending of the manga. it seems that aka always tries to find the worst way to push out his work out the door to make room for new series, and despite his attempts at the series being talked about being successful, he's losing credibility the more he does these rushed and unsatisfying conclusions. |

Aka has troubles handling the sauce as of recently. I hope this is good but he peaked with Kaguya I fear. I suppose we won't see a crossover with previous work like we did in Oshi No Ko if this is a fantasy (unless it's a surprise Isekai lmao) |

@fizzletrie This time he was literally saying that the ending would be controversial and that he wanted fans to debate it passionately. But it seems that this time he objectively overestimated his ability to shock and impress people. And while its fans were simply disappointed with Kaguya's final chapters, the ending of Oshi no Ko really pissed people off. So I'm really interested in how this will affect his career and the adaptations of Oshi no Ko, since many people are already writing that they regret investing in this manga and are losing motivation to follow the anime. @Oni_Zokuchou People have already joked about this on reddit, but I think it's unlikely that anything can be said until we see the first chapters. But I really think part of the problem with Oshi no Ko was that Aka overestimated his ability to write complex and intricate stories after Kaguya's popularity gave him something of a star fever. |
