Damn, a murder investigation. From the lighthearted episode the previous week, this one turned more serious and darker. It looks like that yuki-ona is connected to the case too and Masayuki is suspected to be involved.

This is one of those episodes that relied a bit of supernatural detective work. Kotoko knew that Masayuki is not the suspect. I kinda like how she also served as a role of a wingman for Masayuki and Yuki-onna by pointing out how devoted she is to him.

Honestly this episode just continually pissed me off the whole time. Seeing shitty cops badger someone who's obviously innocent is ridiculous. I hate seeing it the real world and I hate seeing it in shows. Its so dumb I can't put into words how angry it makes me. Kotoko doing the same thing but even going a step further by saying that Muroi manipulated Yuki-Oona pissed me off even more than the cops did. I kinda hated her during that whole scene and wanted Muroi to storm off and look for the culprit himself like he originally planned. Kotoko was way out of line saying shit like that, she's never meet Muroi before and barely knows Yuki-Oona so her saying he manipulated her made me want to stop watching the episode. I see no reason she needed to do all that, I don't care if she called it informing Muroi of the dangers of him and Yuki-Oona getting close. I hate when people do such a roundabout way of things instead of just being straight up with the person they're talking to. That scene could've been a lot less rage inducing if Kotoko acted more like a person than a goddess and spoke to Muroi equally instead of spinning that made up story that she for some reason tried to convince them was what she think actually happened. What Kotoko did was not informative or playful it was mean and ridiculous. Kuro really should've come along with her so she doesn't get so carried away.

It was very cruel, but that was the point, she acted like a goddess because she was using that mantel to show Masayuki the trust Yuki-Onna has in him. He'd already closed his heart due to the constant betrayal he's faced throughout his life, she did this whole song and dance to get him to finally open up once again through seeing just how much Yuki-Onna cares for and trusts him, so much so that she was willing to defy the goddess that she should have absolute faith in. So no I'd say Kotoko's methods, although cruel, were absolutely justified and necessary for them to move forward with this investigation and for him to move forward with his life.

LETS GOOO man what a roller coaster of an episode. One of my fave cases.

First of all why was bro talking to the police without a lawyer present lol?? Wasn’t helping his case at all. Also why did it take so long for Yuuki Onna to contact kotoko? Like that should’ve been the first step.

So cute how concerned she is for him, dude been so depressed he didn’t even pay attention to what he had right in front of him. Kotoko fake alibi may have been cruel but it did finally open his eyes which was good. Despite how much she respects Kotoko as the goddess she was able to stand up to her and defy her. That’s real love. I need them to be happy together

I didn’t know the climber who pushed him off the mountain died already, so that pretty much confirms it’s gotta be the colleague he was on the phone with last week. The fact she still call him president and seems to have him on a pedestal is sus.

Can’t wait for next episode, didn’t want this one to end.

wow!!! As far as I'm concerned this was one of the best episodes of the series. I love the plot with Muroi and Yuki-Onna. The Goddess of Wisdom's intellect was very impressive. The writing for this season is really great.

Yuki-Onna is best cutie of 2023!!!!!

I'm as ACAB as it gets but he's definitely not "obviously innocent". From their perspective he was the prime suspect. Hell, they even let him go home and are letting him go about his business undisturbed

Kotoko really took them on a roller coaster with her accusations toward Masayuki. It all turned out to be a lie to get Masayuki to realize how much Yuki Onna cares about him, but I can't even imagine what was going through their heads as she continued on and on. Looking forward to seeing how this case wraps up and finding out who the real killer is.

I have become ludicrously super-invested in Yuki-Onna and Masayuki as a couple, lol. They're both lovely. Masayuki is a goddamn saint for the amount of shit he's had to put up with and the fundamentally decent way he's tried to handle everything. Given how almost nobody continually acts that noble on purpose, it's completely understandable that the police would suspect him. also police are lazy and if a murder victim leaves something saying 'if I get murdered this guy's the killer for sure, trust me' that's good enough for them. people like 'why are the police acting like this' have an unwarranted amount of faith in the police.

Kotoko is a demon for fucking with them like that, but like, Masayuki's too respectful to make any kind of move unless he's nudged into it. As she said, that Yuki-Onna was willing to defy her for his sake despite her immense faith in her goddess is extremely telling. also that Masayuki married a woman who resembled her, lmao. Just...yes, okay, usually it's a bad idea for a human and a supernatural entity to get too closely involved, but the ship has sailed here. You couldn't separate these two without making both of them terribly miserable.

I'd also like to observe that Masayuki's level of bad luck seems unnatural, like he's under a curse. I wonder if his ex-wife's death has a supernatural cause.

Totally agree with you on that. As mach as I've enjoyed episode 2 with its romcom/slice of life mood, where you can simply enjoy watching good written characters and dialogues, this episode 3 with its unnecessary melodrama and emotional manipulations disappointed me. Kotoko's speculations were uncalled to and non-credible. If Masayuki's intentions were to use Yuki-onna all he needed to do is to seduce her of gain her trust by other means. Framing himself for murder in the process doesn't make any sense and of no use for gaining Yuki-onna's trust. Kotoko's made up vile performance was cruel, disrespectful and totally unnecessary despite all her made up excuses. She just had good time meddling in someone's life and trolling poor Youki-onna who is subordinate to her and depends on her. There were much better ways to show Masayuki that Yuki-onna deserves his trust. Without humiliating her and playing with her feelings. Kotoko is just sadistic, enjoying harming others. She should have been smacked for that vicious lie. Though, being sadistic she would probably enjoy it.

It depends on the perspective. His "friend's" betrayal brought Masayuki straight to Yuki-onna with whom he fell in love and allowed him to start his own company for the money received from his "friend's" parents. His wife's and collegue's betrayal reunated Masayuki with Yuki-onna so they can finally be together. Not the baddest thing in life to be in mutual love and complete trust with your wife who happens to be kind, just, otherworldly beautiful and forever young women. On the other hand all those people who have harmed Masayuki ended up terribly even though he pardoned them. Kotoko should have think twice before making up her vicious performance which emotionally harmed both Masayuki and his lover. Even if Masayuki himself didn't slap her as she deserved, It seems like some higher power could take revenge on Kotoko for harming Masayuki.

Police do be questioning him a lot when he's clearly innocent, I mean they attempted to murder him and those police men won't even understand that part.

I'm glad the yuki-ona went to the lady for assistance and apparently she figured out who the culprit is but we got left on a cliffhanger, because why not. In the meantime it looks like Kurou managed to get himself an job, so props to him (If im right that is).

Kotoko legit had me doubt Masayuki for a moment there, though if it wasn't for her coming out and say it was just so to provoke him and have him realize the importance of goods Yuki-onnn's been doing for him thus far, I would've believed her theory quite easily lol. Though that's just like her, she really loves weaving tales full of lies.

Last season it was Saki and now Yuki-onna. This series giving heck of fine ladies nonstop. So much to look forward next episode.

So Kuro preferred to work at his builder's job rather than help out with Kotoko, huh? I must say, seeing her chomp on that convenience store food while ranting about him was pretty funny! XD

Once again, this was a compelling episode to watch. The pressure was on for Masayuki as the police were building up their case against him, not helped by the fact they have a security camera picture of when he and Yuki-Onna went out on their date, as she looks very close to Masayuki's ex-wife. It was a good thing for her to reach out to Kotoko for help.

However, she didn't make things easy after their introductions, as Kotoko unleashed her plan of lies on Masayuki with excellent effect before giving the game away when she was satisfied that he had learned his lesson and make him realise how much Yuki-Onna cares for him and to get them closer. A cruel plan, maybe, but it was one of those plans that was necessary to get the answer out with the best result possible.

As before, this arc has been fascinating and I look forward to seeing how it will conclude, as Kotoko knows who was responsible for killing Masayuki's ex-wife.

Fantastic episode, definitely one of the best of the entire show. It's interesting how episode 2 and the police interrogation in the first half of this episode made it so thoroughly convincing that Masayuki was innocent (e.g. the cops were way too quick to just take Miharu's note at its word when the rest of the evidence they had against him was circumstantial at best), yet Kotoko's fake theory was strong enough to flip that around almost immediately even though she basically made it up on the spot: the use of these fake theories is always one of my favourite aspects of the show and this was such a strong example of how to use the concept well.

Now that Kotoko is on the scene (and without Kuro to "control" things for once), I'm very interested in the truth of this case, or at least whatever "truth" Kotoko presents to clear Masayuki of suspicion.

She didn't just want to inform him of the danger of their relationship, she also wanted to cure his severe trust issue. She acted that way to prove that there's indeed someone out there who believes in him even when goddess herself says otherwise. Someone who absolutely would do ANYTHING for him, gone to hell and back. Action speaks louder than words.

Lol, have you seen any of those publically available police interrogation videos on YouTube? No matter how "innocent" you are, the police will always try to force a confession out of you, even going so far as to pretend to have evidence they don't have just to see if you'll crack.

I nearly received a heart attack when Kotoko suggested that Masayuki was manipulating Yuki-Onna, would hate to see a twist like that. Luckily, that was not the case. I was thinking if it's possible that his wife orchestrated it all though I don't see why she would go so far as to kill herself unless there's another spirit or person behind it. Maybe Rikka's making another move? (Unlikely)

Masayuki's stint with his past isn't over yet: his divorced wife Miharu being murdered, and the fine details interrogated by the police to make it sound like he was the one who committed the crime. Unfortunately, the yuki-onna is his only alibi that looked like his dead wife, trying to help him tie down the culprit. And the only way to get help is from the Goddess of Wisdom herself, Kotoko.

Of course, Kuro would prioritize work over Kotoko, that's natural. But back to the topic, Kotoko trying to align both Yuki-Onna and Masayuki on the facts and theories, and as much as she lays down the detrimental info that seeks to destroy their expectations, Kotoko's not letting down on them easy. Except that what she muttered was all a lie, and this goes to show the extent of the challenge between yokai and master, even if the theories told are the truth or fake.

I almost forgot how terrifying Kotoko can be, she's one hell of a goddess.

Fantastic turn around episode, Kotoko firing on all cylinders is exactly what I watch this show for.

Best of all, her whole spiel was basically to point out that Masayuki needs to get over himself and get it on with Yuki, who adores him.

back to the problem of last episode, Masayuki is talking to the police about his ex-wife's death (tbh she deserved it, trying to kill her husband in a trafic accident, putting others in danger as well?) ... she even went ahead and wrote about him being the murderer in a paper in case she was killed?
as much as he hasn't seen her for over an year, the footage with Yuki might say otherwise, and it's not like he can show her to them

oh, that's cute, he married her cause she reminded him of Yuki, but that's also a problem, since he was thinking about Yuki and not about his wife

wanting to catch the real culprit, he tries to leave, but Yuki gets mad and almos freezes him lols might as well eat her half cooked food
but now what? things aren't looking good ... there's only 2 ways of solving this, either show Yuki, or have a detective (cough cough main girl) discover the real culprit ... i'm sure Yuki will ask her right away (and she indeed mentioned her right after i said it lol)

time to fly, till we meet the goddess, and she sure is pretending to be angry LOL
she could have gone to his house but she thought it would cause troubles, she knows
oh, so that's why she is angry, cause Kurou didn't come with her, that face :D

did that pet slap Yuki's ass? :v

wow, Kotoko went ahead and told them about the possibilty of him actually being the culprit and how he could use Yuki for revenge lol as much as i don't want to believe that story, she has some point
well, after making him mad and making Yuki talk like that (agains't her God), she finally came down to explaining that she knew he wasn't the murderer, but still needed this talk, to show how much Yuki likes him and finally he accepted her feelings

Kotoko also knows who the culprit is, but that's for next episode
