OK....I think this is meant to be an advert about flights to Brazil from Japan (or vice versa). But the pic for this anime is not actually present in the one I saw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT3iJfzhAiw&feature=related The link above is for the coloured version of Urashima Taro advert for VARIG. |

No, that link is not the short we are talking about. Urashima Taro legend is one of the oldest one in Japan and it is born long time before planes were invented LOL |

That moved pretty damn fast and the art was pretty bad. The octopus danced funny though. |

I am so very confused. To my knowledge there is three versions of this anime. 1918, 1931 and 1952. I am only guessing my you but was 1918 the plain silent version? while 1931 just gained background music? and the 1952 gained color? And if so how do explain the two different cover pictures seen when you look up all three versions? Someone who knows about this please explain this to be me. |

I'm a bit confused on how to rate this, it's incredibly lackluster compared to something like Kubotori which it predates but It seems to be a remake of something far older, so maybe this was some ground breaking shit in its time. |

I think I like the older version better, but I do like that fact that this version has music. The animation was terrible in this one compared to the original 1918 version |

i like the hazy transitions and the puppetry, but it feels less impressive than it's decade older counterpart a bit disappointing |

Another primitive animation from Japan. Honestly, it is good to see what quality the first half of the 20th century offered, but Urashima Tarou is a content inferior to more striking things. The represented folklore is really the only possible thing to extract positively, but it does not add ... Japanese culture recommended only as a symbol, that's all. |

I really like the music, but it's worse than the original in my opinion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLYLiFYkMsw |

Not sure what is up with some of these old 1 minute episodes. I get that there was a tight budget and restrictions for animation at the time but they are too densely packed to make anything of it. |

For new readers, I've summarized the previous videos in this thread. DEAD LINK (privated video) DEAD LINK (privated video again) Correct version, just hit mute Wrong title in video, avoid |
"He isn't dead, San. He is here with us now, telling us, it's time for both of us to live." "And slowly... You come to realize..." "They come without asking, and then they leave just the same. But once you meet them, even if nobody ever knows it, that encounter will change your life for the better." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYzMYcUty6s |
