Scoring:
Comments regarding scoring reflect a general trend. Of course, not everything fits the description but should serve as a general reference guide
10 - Masterpiece: This is quasi-flawless, is both entertaining to watch and should hold some elements that others should seek to implement in their own anime/manga.
9 - Superb: This is a pleasure to consume and is what animators/mangakas should aim to achieve.
8 - Excellent: Some aspect is nailed really well whether it be a unique/compelling story, characters, worldbuilding, et cetera. However, when thinking about things that could have been done better, it is easy to list a few.
7 - Great: This is a show you could find yourself recommending to others and that you might find yourself using to compare the quality of similar shows.
6 - Good: An interesting watch which has its moments. It is a pleasant experience though you are unlikely to ever talk about it to someone else if it isn't mainstream.
5 - Decent: This is a watchable show. You won't think you wasted your time but you also won't leave satisified. This is the lowest rating that would be a recommended watch if you particularly enjoy a specific category.
4 - Mediocre: This show does not stand out in any way and is just what you would expect from an average anime/manga. More time should have been spent coming with a unique premise or creating dynamic characters. It should have at least a few good moments but overall, you could have better spent your time doing something else. If it does stand out in positive ways, there must be some significantly obtrusive aspects to make it place this low.
3 - Bad: There's a failure to deliver any interesting content and there is nothing good which can be said about any aspect.
2 - Trash: Something clearly went wrong though there might still be some worthwhile elements. Examples that qualify are ironically viewable, have elements that ruin an otherwise decent show (eg: incest != wincest), or hold some iconic value.
1 - Horrendous: For one reason or another this should never be watched. Even ironically viewing or aiming to see an interesting attempt/idea expressed by an author. These are a waste of production budget.
