This was hell of a flashback: child swapping, secret twin brother, incest, racists, Romeo and Juliet. DIO, somehow, is able to tell things to Pucci telepathically. Wild episode.
Imagine normies saying: "Peaky Blinders is mid and overhyped. Just another typical crime drama show. Breaking Bad is much better lol.".

Well now with that flashback I can say," Pucchi is a idiot."

But still, doesn't say why Wes was arrested. Was like find someone passed out, and throw in a cell.

This episode was really great, even though I’ve already read the manga hearing Weather and Pucci’s backstory again gave me some serious chills.

Absolutely wild episode.

Also perhaps I just don’t remember this but why was Weather arrested?? I literally can’t find it anywhere.

Heavy Weather is one of my favorite Stone Ocean arcs and what we saw in this episode is primarily the reason why. But damn I wish they had kept the KKK panel lol.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

it was pretty much weather that killed the racist and left the gun there, of course he was arrested

Holy— what a flashback! The fact that Weather and his sister fell in love with each other without knowing that they're siblings was such a tragedy! Gosh... Pucci should've revealed the truth instead. Now the two had a Romeo and Juliet ending. Oh boi.

Also Pucci's first meeting with Dio... so that's when he fell in love. I can't blame him. Dio was looking really hot there! And the way Dio caressed his hand before disappearing— pft! That was so gay I loved it! Haha! I feel bad for shipping them but please don't blame me. Blame Araki! XD

(Adding this) Btw idk if it's just me but does Dio seem to be... more attractive in this part than the previous ones? I mean, we even got to see his vulnerable side (when he was with Pucci, bed scene). He seems gentler, more at ease, and more comfortable. Or is it because this is tied to Pucci's memories and this is how Pucci sees him? Hm. Interesting.

(Weather's hair tho! XD)

This episode was insane. A tragedy that connects the pucci family, that left all victims left with malice and grief. With a backstory like that I don't think I'd be able to even convince him to help jolyne. Not that anasui is particularly the empathetic type anyways!

Damn, this episode was such a dark roller coaster.

Thinking about it, wouldn't Weather Report's memories be an infodump when Donatello Versus read into it?

One of the reasons why I wanted to see Stone Ocean animated as I wanted to know if it's morally ok to say "Pucci did nothing wrong." I'm anime-only but I've been spoiled with certain details like Pucci resetting the universe as that gets memed and discussed a lot. Although JoJo is one of those anime where I feel like getting spoiled isn't a big deal as the process of how the story progresses is still full of surprises.

Resetting the universe as a goal, along with Pucci being a Christian is such an interesting take on a villain. I also think Christian characters in anime are interesting as the Japanese has interesting views on that religion. But yeah, this episode just exposed even more questionable actions Pucci did.

Well, this part shows the more charismatic and philosophical side of DIO, as opposed to P1's raw brutality, and P3's dramatic villain. So maybe that's why you think DIO's more attractive. Also, his body is more proportional and less of a beefcake, if that's what you're into.

Arguably the best flashback in all of JoJo got animated! David Pro did such a fantastic job. Now we'll just have to wait an eternity for *that* flashback from part 8 to be animated.

That's one of the most Ohio-like backstories ever. Pucci's done the most horrible things to mankind and he's a free man. Poor Weather, he didn't even know that he was dating his own sister.
Welp, I can understand his rage.

The most awaited backstory. Words like messed up or tragic couldn't even begin to sum the things we had in this episode. Also this pretty much established the root of every and any kind of problem since the start is no one other than Pucci himself.

Weather lived a tragic life. So he has every legitimate reason to go after Pucci and taking on his revenge.

Weather trying to rock that Polnareff hairstyle

Dio and Char Aznable... and talking about gravity for some reason.

Im not even going to question how he flew off like that or why he had so much time when he supposedly was hiding in egypt.

Incest, nice.

Racism, nicer.

Love suicide, nicest.

I cant blame weather at all, fuck Pucci.

Weather without his memory became a new person, I guess given enough time Jotaro would as well.

PS: Did the narrator just became sentient??

ah yes. araki is equipped to handle the nuance of inter racial incentuous relationships where the long lost brother seeks revenger because his twin brother attempted to break them up and it resulted in the kkk getting involved.

i wish someone would sit araki down and teach him how to write

This episode was incredible and really stands out, the use of the narrator throughout the episode really enriches the story. Father Pucci and Weather Report's backstory is gripping and filled with plot twists. The backstory really pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat due to the multiple tragic stories that are woven together. The episode was very real and emotional. I always enjoy when different parts of the series are tied together through interactions like Pucci meeting Dio for the first time, taking place before the events of Part 3.

That was definitely an interesting backstory for Weather Report and Pucci. 1972 brought us a lot of good things including “Europe 72” but this was not a good thing to happen lol, I really enjoyed it tho. Getting to see why Weather Report’s memory was removed and why he has to settle a score with Pucci, why Pucci is so obsessed with Dio, and just getting the backstory of these two in general was awesome. Rip Perla tho, she was sadly caught in a terrible situation and fell for the classic Romeo and Juliet move and offed herself after something so tragic happened to her. And yeah, the way I see it Pucci is definitely the most to blame for what happened, he thought he was in the right after it was all said and done too, fits right in with how he is in the present.

And I’m an anime only so I didn’t know this, but I assumed that the KKK was in the manga and were censored here and turns out I was right lol, a shame but I get it, they took the mention of Hitler out of Part 2 as well I believe, but thankfully not the Nazis entirely because they’re a huge part of Part 2, this was just one moment in the whole season so it’s forgivable. And next back to the insane snail situation lol.

I still can't possibly process that Araki is 62 y.o. now and created this part when he was 40. I am feeling way too old to enjoy this in my early 20s, but the original creator was in his early 40s while creating this... It's almost like Araki ages differently compared to a lot of other humans. So is it the mind's youthfulness that makes a body age slower or Araki is an actual vampire or both?

Jojo with the good storytelling to connect everything. I can’t stand Pucchi smh. He could’ve easily avoided his sister’s death and introduced himself to his twin. He started all of this chaos and he’s deflecting all of his guilt to others

Amazing backstory about Wes and Pucci! It was really tragic. The narration was also goated af: "Who really deserves to be punished? Is it Weather? Perla? They all tried to love in their own way." I was fucking stunned, my jaw dropped at the sound of such calmly voiced, yet impactful narration. Props to whoever this narrator is.

Also, this is my favorite episode of Stone Ocean so far! I literally forgot how time passed as I watched the episode. Not that other episodes did not do that, but this in particular stood out so much that I was really engrossed till the end. Araki's way of writing really pulls you in until you know the complete truth.

5/5 episode

Damn, Father Pucci's life a like a soap opera. Everyone's a sinner, everyone's a victim (except for the racist private investigator, glad Wes killed him with the rainbows and snails). The woman swapping her baby for Enrico's fraternal twin, led to a domino effect.

One thing though, the white thing on Wes's head looks like hair from the back. If it is, is it still hair in the present? This is like Jotaro all over again...

IMO it's basically Pucci's fault to make things end up so badly. He had so many other ways to handle it better, but he chose the most stupid one.

If only Pucci just let Weather know the truth, for sure Weather would have found a milder way to break up with Perla without letting her know the situation. Or if Pucci wanted to follow the priest code and treat the contents of the confessional confidentially, he could have let Weather's adoptive mother know that her son was dating the daughter of Pucci. She would have to let Weather break up with Perla.
However, this priest code thing seems pretty much like an excuse to me. Cuz Pucci revealed his identity to Weather anyway after Perla died. That shows how selfish & hypocritical Pucci was and how unsuitable he was for a priest.

I know that it’s the KKK dudes who pushed the situation to an extreme. But who would have hired a random dude to beat up his biological brother so that he can break up with his girl friend? Honestly I don’t see the logic here. Violence is the best way a priest could come up with during this situation? Come on!

The root reason of Pucci's behavior lies in his indifference to Weather. I understand that they didn’t grow up together so Pucci had no feelings for him. But he treated Weather as if he was his enemy without showing tiny little bit of sympathy to his biological brother. He totally didn’t care how many harms his choice would bring to Weather or if he’s gonna die because of it.

Lots of ppl probably hate Pucci because of what he would do to our main crew in the end. But for me, it’s the way he treated his brother made me sick of him. Even I, an outsider, have quite a lot of sympathy for Weather. How could his own brother make his life so shitty?

Honestly this was one helluva flashback to the past.

Pucci Gucci has a brother separated from birth as well as a sister. Pucci Gucci's sister falls in love with Weather Report and the two started to date.
Then Pucci Gucci orders a hitman group to break up the relationship.

Honestly, the KKK scene is very toned down compare to the manga. The anime is like lite version. For the anime,  I love how it's just a bunch of racist dudes ( regular ole joes). The manga was a bit more explicit showing the classic white KKK outfit on the men. Honestly what a wild episode.
