Damn, part of an arm being cut off.

Hell of an episode again. Imo, these past few episodes have exceeded expectations including this one. Dai pushed his skills to the limits and felt like he was doing absolutely everything to win.

One of the more emotional episodes this week too. Dai needs a hug.

Storywise of course it's cool. They add some longer screenplay and add more tension than in the manga.
Usually i will be satisfied but with 5 episodes left and 2 tomes to adapt i'm worried they passed too much time on this episode and will rush the epicness that awaits us...

The avan strash cross should have been better than that.

Good episode anyway and Popp's seiyu is a revelation and yes Dai needs a hug ! Don't forget the trauma. Dark core = his father's death. SO 6 CORES powerX10 means despair

Anyway, a rather good episode. Next week is the final arc: Flash of Light!

Using that moment of opportunity that Popp gave him Dai unleashed that badass Cross Strash! Looked so awesome and a cool scene for Dai charging up right as his moment to attack Dark King Vearn opens. Chopping off an arm to Dark King Vearn cannot do his Demonic Guard anymore. Dai laying down lightning spells just to harm Dark King Vearn even if Dai had to harm himself in those attacks. Consecutive attacks hitting both Dai and Dark King Vearn seeing whom can last longer taking all that damage. Dark King Vearn spelling out what his ultimate plan has been. Dropping those black cores around the world to have this moment of complete destruction over the surface world. It looks rather grim now that even the strongest in the world couldn't stop the Dark King's final plan.

Dai is the main focus again after letting several of his friends steal the spotlight, I love how there's a manga effect every time he speak. But look like in the next episode the focus will be shift to Popp.

For the longest time Japan has been avoid drawing nuclear-like weapon dropping from the sky for reasons.... but we finally see it in this episode, and it's very impactful. This is a political statement from Vearn that he's the final boss, he's not messing around fighting like Hadlar, he means business.

Alright, after Popp and Sigma's chess play, now it's return to Vearn again to give them a damn checkmate moment. Even Dai just let himself lie down on the ground and Popp scream all day...

Countdown for the end of the world, and the whole show? Too bad, since, it's still not reaching the final episode, yet, which also close the show, there must be something goin on below. On a really serious matter. Idk what's that, so let's just see next!

That avan strash cross followed by multiple lighting strikes were great, but then they just chatted for half of episode, like nothing happened. Overall awesomeness just went *puff* and i am a little bit dissatisfied with episode. I am still very eager to see how this will end, but i cant shake off the feeling that many scenes could be executed way better, with bigger impact.

Great episode, but I think the translated title is mistitled. "The Greatest, Final Comeback" makes it seem that it's in reference to Dai, while it's really referring to Vearn's plan to blow up the surface world. Well, I guess you can say it's Vearn's comeback. The equivalent manga chapter is called "The Last Great Twist" = Saidai Saigo no Gyakuten. Anyways, one of the BEST Popp moments is in the next episode, can't wait! Like a Bright Flash...

This is how a final battle should be. The back and forth between Dai and vearn has been amazing. Just when we thought Dai had a comeback brewing, all hope seems lost. Can’t wait to see how things turn out next week!

This episode is pure despair. You gotta give it to Vearn tho. Dude managed to not only get out of a critical situation due to a combination of wits, strategy and words, but also breaking the spirits of our heroes with only that. What overwhelming magic and ultimate techniques couldn't do, he simply did it with an action as simple as dropping a huge pillar in the ground. He's a great villain without any shred of doubt.

Seeing Dai and Popp so defeated and broken was hard to watch. Dai has have some breaking points through the anime, but nothing as big or devastating as this one. You don't often see the villain crushing the hero so savagely.

Awesome episode, how Popp and Dai broke the Vearn stance with that final Avan Strash Cross, and when the cores truth appear, wow, very good job at the direction with that tension and silence.
You can feel the despair of the characters.

Omg, I was hyped because Dai managed to hit Vearn good and rip off his arm but that pillar plot twist is hardcore, so now with the six pillars placed in strategic places he's able to destroy the entire world in 10 minutes... I don't know how they'll be able to stop that but I count on Popp

Damn. All this time Dark King Vearn was playing 4D chess moves the entire time. He's wasn't trying to kill Dai and the others, he was simply waiting for the right time to drop the final pillar on the surface world, but the real nail in the coffin is that those six pillars that were dropped on the surface world contains a large mass of black cores and those pillars connect to form a hexagon formation so that when they explode at the same time it will be enough to completely destroy the surface world. He literally gave Dai and the others a front row seat to see the destruction up close. Poor Dai, after all that hard work to come all this way to face and defeat the Dark King it was all for nothing as he has lost the will to fight.

All hope seems to be lost as there are only 10 minutes left until the destruction of the surface world.

well, people keep saying so many things which have happened are asspulls like how Avan keeps surviving everything but it's a matter of opinion. I'm not going to sit here and argue with people who have a different opinion because it is completely pointless, no one will change their opinion anyway.

I personally don't see anything as asspulls because everything has been explained. if they had at some point done something which wasn't explained properly then I could consider such thing as an asspull, but so far everything has had an explanation which was satisfying, to me anyway.

So the things which will happen next I would never consider asspulls either. but you might, and that's just your point of view.

Avan surviving megante more than once should've been your first clue.
Avan surviving killvearns fireball was another one.

There have been so many asspulls in this series it's almost hard to keep track. Avan and Hadlar are the biggest culprits.

but to me this is not an asspull. the first Megante he survived thanks to the amulet of Carl which he received from Flora. the second Megante he survived thanks to Hadlar's hyper demon ashes covering his body and absorbing the heat from the explosion. Remember, even though the judge exploded, his explosion wasn't actually a true Megante as the judge was a mechanical being incapable of producing touki. so the explosion from the judge was more of real energy explosion rather than a touki explosion so my the damage caused by the judge would have been in the form of flames and heat, those which were absorbed by handlers ashes. so you can say what you want, it's your opinion, but to me it is clear as day how he was a ke to survive, not one but two explosions.

Yuuyuu hakusho was filled with asspulls, DBZ is asspull city, Bleach is asspulls as well.
It doesnt make it bad, im just saying if someone argues against an expected asspull they are going to be disappointed.
Also, if you need a bible to type out an asspull, it is still going to be an asspull. Hadlars ashes? Judge not being a true megante?

Again, this doesnt make it a bad show, it's just a good show filled with asspulls and the ending is fruitious to see. Good guys gonna win, Vearn is gonna get a big L/ratio/gg and somehow the good guys are gonna make everything go away through the magic of plot armor/asspull

Not even a manga reader but i'd bet my savings on it.

Like I said, it's a matter of opinion. For me, an asspull is when characters power up out of nowhere or when seemingly impossible things happen and it's not explained well how they occurred.

Sure the heroes in this story have pulled a lot of seemingly impossible feats, but considering in their world of magic and touki, almost anything is possible, I'm not really considering anything they have done to be an asspull, and that's because they have always given us explanations of how these things were possible. The explanations they have given fit well within the rules they have established for the world this story is set in.

If for example, out of nowhere they would say something ridiculous like that Avan can not be killed because he is an immortal being from another galaxy, now that would be an asspull in my opinion because that explanation has nothing to do with everything else we have seen in this story.

Not at all. If you remember, heat and explosion attacks were Hadlar's specialty. We saw many times since the begin how he was unaffected by fire attacks. And when he became a hyper demon with enhanced resistance, even moreso. We also saw how he died in Avan's arms and his ashes got all over him. The only unexpected thing was that those ashes were able to protect Avan. But whether you believe that's impossible or not that's up to you. But remember, you should not judge the events that happen in this anime based on your reality, because the world in which this story is set up is not the real human world that we live in, so the same rules don't apply.

Even in the anime itself, a lot of things which the heroes call as miracles, have an actual explanation of how they were possible. Avan himself said that he survived through a miracle. But even Killvearn was logical enough to realize how it was possible for Avan to survive being shielded by Hadlar's ashes.

The only way this would have been an asspull in my opinion, is if Hadlar had not been resistant to heat and explosion attacks, because then it would not have made any sense that his ashes alone would have been able to shield Avan.

Sure you have the right to complain and say whatever you want, but if you have watched 95 episodes then you should have known since a long time ago that this is how the anime operates. It's not like this is the first time they have had so much dialogue. Besides that, I think it makes perfect sense that the final episodes would have even more dialogue than the rest of the story because this is where all the plans are revealed and all the secrets exposed. So go ahead and complain all you want but it wouldn't make any sense for these final episodes to be an all out brawl without any dialogue.
