I find it fairly interesting how animals and creatures are presented in this show. It's like a blur between fiction and reality.

Berry still remains a very curious character in the show where events take her virtually everywhere.

Great episode! The professor wants them to rewrite the decopedia to save his precious nue! In return, they will get 100000 love in return!

Love-y!

Looking forward to the next episode!

The zoo story can't end like this right? Such a bittersweet ending, I kinda hope it'll fully resolved (like the professor decide to create another zoo based purely on fiction) but it seems like they will move on to another topic

The Yurei Detective Club receive a job: saving a professor's nue (a type of bird). The Neo Animal Museum of realistic animals all made out of Deco, and somehow it's linked to the overall Phantom Zero incident on paper. Even the Decopedia has information, but sparse and limited.

It's Hack and Berry to the request, and despite the bugging out, everything and all of it is the professor's creation. Out of all of them, the lion-tiger hybrid nue is as true as it comes, and information can be wrong now that the Zero Phenomenon is in effect, and all the assignment calls for is just to edit the Decopedia to reflect correct content. So, the Wikipedia reference really plays into this one.

All content moderated by the Customer Center, and Decopedia's information in the Hyperverse are many, but to find one nue content while not being discovered, it's finding a needle in a haystack that's dependent on both Hack and Berry leading it to its intended data location to gave rise to a boom.

The request however, puts a dent on the Neo Animal Museum with social media commentary conflicting with the actual specimen being labelled as false information. But to think that even the "true" specimen is also false, it makes sense since the Professor basically created it in the first place, so it can be attributed to human error to think that it exists as a species. And the appropriate action is to remove this fictional creature, both electronically and factually.

Until then, everyone has secrets to keep private, and Berry and Hack's relationship is growingas well. And things that don't belong shouldn't be made.

If there's one learning point of this episode, it's that information is readily available, but learning to discern the right from the wrong.

The first time we see Hack actually get mad. It really makes you ponder what happened in the past that she wants to hide so much.
Graduated High School in May of 2022. Summer vacation has finally arrived. I have once again regained the power of a new anime fan, being able to watch multiple anime episodes in a day. Time to binge-watch every single anime I can into the night until college arrives. SADGE. SUPER SADGE... College has begun as of Monday, August 30, 2022, so you won't be seeing me much around these parks. See you on weekends, I guess... School me is back. Sigh! I'll at least try for one anime a day with all this course load.

Hack sure acted extra retarded this episode. From not taking things seriously to sniffing robots' butts for X reason. Not that I like Berry's character but man did I feel her exasperation.

So this technique has actually been used in schools to teach kids about misinformation online - tell kids to look up an animal online, write a report about it, and at the end of the day tell them that that animal was fictional.

So even the animals are fake? Kind of makes me think what ISN’T artificial. But Berry is right, that Nue is cute! Also, I want to ride on a dinosaur. That sounds cool as hell, man! Love how Hack was sniffing that dino’s butthole and then immediately afterward was sniffing the Nue’s butthole. The little weirdo is really into butt stuff huh? Hahaha.

I liked that they really wrestled with the idea of truth with that Nue situation. I mean it’s a world where “truth” is a very flexible concept, so why not let these legendary creatures roam? But just like any trend, the Nue faded into obscurity. Not even a Decopedia page on it…

Another lesson this episode deals with is privacy. Hopefully Berry learned that lesson after her “dark past” got revealed in the form of that poem lol. We all have cringe shit out there in the internet we pray no one ever finds haha. But I am actually kinda curious to know more about Hack and why they’ve got no data.

Truth isn’t really something that anyone can know with complete certainty because even if a majority of academic types believes something it could still be incorrect information and that just because something isn’t accepted by consensus does not mean with absolute certainty it does not and has not ever existed but it also shouldn’t be treated as exactly the same as something widely believed by proper authority to be true without proper evidence to back it up. Though this episode may also be touching on the value of things “not real” as having real value to them which makes them real in some way.

That robot pigeon was cool.

I feel like this series has become vastly different than I expected going into episode one. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but I certainly didn't expect this to be an episodic thing.

I'm also unsure as to how I feel about Berry and Hack's dynamic together. It probably doesn't help that I find Hack more annoying with each passing episode, but their bickering is super weird to me. I feel like it takes me out of the rest of the show.

Well, that was one of the more sadder plotlines I've seen in awhile. I legitimately can't believe he erased the Nue. That scene reminded me of when I had to put down my cat. So it hit a bit harder than I'd like to admit.

Overall though, it was a good episode. And, if nothing else, I enjoyed the Axolotl pun.

Ah yeah fake news are everywhere even in this world, but it's nothing surprising regarding how they rely on internet and their technology, though that was a bit sad for the professor that wanted to create the mythology creatures, RIP the Nue... also makes me interested to know the past of the main characters.

another strange episode, much more than usual, but I really don't understand what message this chapter intends to deliver because it seems says that you duty accepting that you can have weird dreams, or to stick with what you believe in even if others don't share your passion but for the public good that is wrong even in a virtual environment, really the one who writes this is the worst pessimist

Okay, so, to start off, this setup is already freaking awesome. The part where the professor's like "Everyone calls my nue an impostor 😭 but all the other nues are the fakers!!!" and they show a bunch of examples of nues being depicted as cute-- that strikes a chord with me, as someone who often thinks how cultures will bend the common understanding of various creatures. (Like, the Japanese have this obsession with putting an octopus's siphon on the front of the head, and then making it also their mouth? while in the West we just never figured out where it went so sometimes they just have a basic smiley face slapped on?) It really gets across that concept of "To everyone, this is what a nue looks like," and I can't think of a story that has done something similar.
Then we have Hack & Berry's happy accident that proceeds to BREAK the internet. This freakin dude absolutely NAILS my particular taste in skrunklies. He's somehow rendered in a way that is stilted and flat, but also fluid and limber. He basically just has this one look on this face, but also finds ways to pull out different emotions and play to the camera. He's usually drawn incorrectly in a specific way, but at one point he breaks into different forms, whilst retaining just enough ™-features. Right then and there I prayed that Nue-Nue would go viral in real life. I wish I were influential enough to stoke an art challenge. "Draw your fursona dressed like this" type-beat -- to mirror how everyone becomes 30% more nue in the show.
I can't believe the big twist of the episode is 'The two-headed mammal×reptile that I last saw in Boruto ISN'T a real animal??' It sounds obvious out loud, but like... This is a world where the thing Berry keeps as a pet exists. You can't assume that their ecology matches ours. Seriously, what is that thing. It's not a hologram because it has dark outlines. The anime refuses to elaborate on it.
And I definitely wasn't expecting it to end the way it did. Losing isn't a foreign part of a show like this, but I didn't expect our girls to Bad End that hard! The Professor does not come out a happier man, the agency does not get paid, and Fake Nue, Falsified Nue, AND Folkloric Nue all end up lost to the sands of time?? This attacked me with the combined pain of seeing a precious animal being put down, of realizing a minor character you liked is never gonna show up again, and of seeing a meme die out earlier than you wanted (and then later witnessing the spreading of a new meme that fulfills the same purpose but not as well.)
