Commence the save Rion mission. Everyone is gathered using all their powers to try and stop the grim butterfly while also saving Rion. Our three leading ladies all heading inside the butterfly itself to try and convince Rion this isn't what she actually wants. Riku coming along to help and we got a nice hint at Rion backstory. Riku came close to saying something like Rion might be a half demon herself, she was killed by a half demon but never cursed them which could mean Rion is one after all. That would certainly have an effect on how Kirinmaru sees half demons if his daughter was one and she got killed by one as well. Maybe that's why Kirinmaru has despised half demons, he's turning his own regret for letting his own innocent half demon daughter get killed on a battlefield by another half demon.

The fights this episode looked really good. We got like four different ones, Towa is fighting Osamu Kirin, Sesshomaru is fighting Kirinmaru proper, Moroha and Setsuna are trying to get to Rion inner chamber, and the others outside the butterfly are trying to contain it so the girls have a better shot inside. There's a lot going on this episode but its clear enough to follow, they're all working towards the same goal after all. To stop Rion and this grim butterfly from unleashing demons on the modern world. Each battle is getting more desperate as we get closer to the conclusion.

The Grim Butterfly with Rion under the now-twisted Osamu's control, becomes the mission to save Rion instead for the half-demon princesses and Riku, while Kirinmaru has a re-match with Sesshomaru, and everyone escapes for safety.

The battles are as close to Inuyasha levels as far as I remember, and amidst the young-uns cutting threads of fate that speak the truths of the heart and demons flying around from the inside, the entire OG cast is trying to get the job done to surround the Grim Butterfly into its intended course to finish it off with an infused barrier temporarily from the outside.

Getting to the end cards already, and I pray that this would be a decent ending.

It's pretty funny how integral Shippo has been to the plot moving forward, no wonder he wasn't there for most of the show, maybe he is the strongest youkai.

Somewhat related to Yashahime - I cam across some roughly translated scans of the currently ongoing Yashahime manga adapatation by Shiina Takashi (of Zettai Karen Children/Psychic Squad).

What's interesting is that it's not a 1-1 coverage of the anime; rather it reads like an alternate take on the anime. It still follows the anime’s story structure, but the mangaka rewrites much of the anime’s events and streamlines the story pacing into (what I find to be) a tighter narrative, instead of the rather draggy episodic nature of the anime.

Viz is going to officially release the manga on Jun 21st as well, thought I'd just let everyone know.

Went from not liking this episode in the beginning to really liking it by the end, and I'm not really sure why that is. I did like all the action once it started, especially Sesshomaru vs Kirinmaru and the gang working together.

For some reason this episode gave me Gundam vibes (lets say generic Gundam show like Seed). Like it has good sense when and how to switch the focus on another part of the battle - this creates interesting dynamic despite action not looking that impressive.

They brought Shippo back just to use him as an Uber smh

Thank god we're so close to the end, this is so bad it's not even funny anymore.

Yep same here. Still gave it a four out of five, but I did like the battle scenes, as well as the Kirin history teacher backstory.

And of course the demon slayers setting up and battling the butterfly too. And also nice to see Sango in her demon slayer outfit fighting again like she was a couple of episodes ago. Like one of her kids said then, she’s still got it.

Lo peor ya ha pasado. Ahora solo restan los capítulos donde reina la paz. Descansen en paz Rion y Kirinmaru.

Nice to see the original team back in action.

As for Rion being the final villain? Kinda lame.

I'm with the villains here. Humanity needs to be controlled. Giving them freedom to create a peaceful world on their own is a apocalypse waiting to happen. The state of our world today is a prime example.

"King" Rion? Well, okay.

I guess this episode more or less confirms that Kirinmaru wasn't really a bad guy. He was just a bad father. A really bad father. So what was up with the Tree of Ages? Was it actually referring to Kirin, not Kirinmaru?

Man, Riku has been bleeding out for so many episodes now. I feel bad for him lol.

So suddenly it's all about Rion and the animation takes a nosedive. Well 2 episodes left of this mess.

An action-packed episode, with each character doing their own thing. I like it.

Who knows what's going through Rion's mind. Does she love her father or not?

Sesshomaru easily blew up the same attack that left him on the verge of dying. It looks like he got much stronger during his recovery. Kind of like a zenkai boost.
