| Hmmm... I dunno how I feel about this final episode. This episode, especially the latter half, just didn't feel like a very satisfying conclusion to the series. The ending was serviceable but it felt rushed to me and the fight really didn't live up to the hype that was surrounding it. The rest of the series was awesome though, and I really enjoyed watching it. I've read other replies in this thread mentioning how the series went downhill as early as episode two, but I really didn't feel that way at all. All things considered, even if it didn't accomplish anything as unique as some might've hoped, I thought it overall was still a great sports anime that's super solid in almost all aspects and full of heart. Overall I definitely enjoyed this series; this last episode was just a bit of a letdown for me. |
| Enjoyed it overall but the I didn't like this episode that much, the fighting was too one sided so the ending doesn't make that much sense. I'm looking forward to the next season. 7/10 |
| Solid ending, yeah the fight could have been longer, but I think it served it's purpose well for Joe and Yuri's character. Man, Nanbu crying in the match hits hard, that was great. That was a nice heartwarming ending. I am now ready for Nomad. 8/10 |

| Anticilmactic and rushed final match to a show that has really aged poorly for me it seems. I liked it the first time I saw it, but this time, not so much. The gears feel useless, fights lack impact with punches and not creatively thought out whatsoever, characters feel bland, etc. Music was great and I like the retro look but... that's about it. |
| I was a bit disappointed with how they did the ending. Just a note in the end who declared the winner But overall a decent boxing anime. I like the animation the pacing also the relationship between Joe and Yuri. Rivals but they respected each other I give it 6/10 |

| Not dead yet... AND JOE HAS WON Great, The fight was great. It's very good Megalo Box and the soundtrack is amazing. And so ends the 1st season, time to watch the 2nd season. |
| I enjoyed it, but overall it was a pretty mediocre anime. The vibes were good, it had a few qualities that gave it the air of a shinichiro watanabe anime, but i think since watanabe didn't work on this it was missing something. Also I have to say, Joe and Yuri are canonically in love with each other and you can't change my mind. |
| Ok no cap but this was a legendary fight, Joe vs Yuri. 13 ROUNDS, 13! Damn, I really loved this. The animation, characters and soundtrack were amazing. 8/10 |

| That was a bit disappointing to be honest. Joe v Aragaki is still the highlight of the series for me. This was an alright fight but it just didn't have the weight that the Aragaki fight had. Overall, this was a pretty decent anime. Very standard story and characters, bolstered in a big way by good animation and a nice soundtrack. |
| The entire series as a whole didn't really impress me if I am honest. I liked what was going in the beginning but then it felt a little bit off in not following its own rules lmao. Eh, it was still a little fun tho. |

| The end of Megalo box season 1. The fight was good but not the best. Its kinda annoying how Joe can take and endless amount of punches from every fighter get knocked down a bunch of times and win. Its kinda disappointing. Though i wanted the end fight to be a draw, it was never gonna happen. Overall 5/10 i liked the start of the show and some of the fights. |

| I actually thought that Yuri may have won for some time, as the champion seat was described to be vacant. I wouldn't have minded that outcome either, in the end it really is inconsequential. It's still really sad that Yuri had to end up as a cripple, but considering the roots of this reimagined story, it could have been worse. 1. Characters. +1. This show wouldn't get anywhere if it didn't excel in its characters portrayal and execution as they make up 80% of the focus. Fortunately it managed nicely on this point. It's also not very often that we get so many characters ending up at a point in their lives where they're satisfied with their lives and choices. Final score: 7.5/10. It's a bit hard to pick 7 or 8, but I'll go with the lower one for now and maybe go to 8 after I see the sequel (or it just ages nicely as time goes on).2. Atmosphere. +1. The post-apocalyptic setting worked well as a backdrop and as a way to drive the drama here and there, and it also wasn't pushed more than needed. 3. OST. +1. Good OP and ED choices and a couple of nice themes in the background. 4. Animation. +0.5. I liked the art direction in general, I'm 50/50 on the rough look that comes off as something from an anime VHS from the 90s. 5. Storyline. +1. A pretty straightforward "climb to the top" story with a few annoying examples of pointless dramatic cliffhangers. 6. Ending. +1. Joe and Yuri got what they wanted, the "real deal" of a fight and pretty much everyone are at a point where they're satisfied with their life choices. It feels just a tiny teensy bittersweet, but also really heartwarming. 7. Themes. +1. I knew that I wasn't signing up for a "Sports" anime here, but I'm still satisfied with what I got. I always love characters clashing for the sake of having a good fight with nothing else in their sights. The amount of people who had to drop out after their fights with Joe is a bit too high for my liking, but I understand that it was done to drive the theme even further. 8. Overall affect. +1. I enjoyed watching a couple of episodes of this every week, it didn't excel at pretty much any of its aspects but all of them were handled to a good level and the final result feels like a solid package. |

| I think the last fight could've been done a bit better, but I still really enjoyed it! Overall, awesome show. The animation, the music, the characters, I loved everything about this show! It reminded me so much of older anime like Cowbow Bebop, and I'm surprised I didn't hear about this sooner. Like seriously, I found this at random from a site that gives a random anime to watch. If I hadn't bothered to check on that specific day, I don't think I would've found this. Sure, this last episode felt a bit weird, but I don't think it's really as bad as people are making it out to be. This was a real treat! I think this show is like an 8, maybe a 9 but I'm kind of split between the two atm |

| They said Joe won at 2:51 in the last round, it's after the credits. I can't believe we had to wait until the last second of the show to get the result. I guess the title was vacant because Joe stopped fighting. Great match but not my favorite, it was confusing with flash sides all over the episode, I really hoped for a strong final fight without any interruptions. Not a perfect final episode, but it was a strong season, I love this show and how good the characters are written here. 9/10 and great spokon. I can't wait to see the second season! |

| Disappointing to see the many complaints about "rushed" and "anticlimactic" final fight. But I think it had emotions in spades. Absolutely loved this show. Simple, but has so much heart and style. Having watched Season 2 before this season, I do like Season 2 more, though. |
