About time Bisco gets more action in the show and he's got quite the strength in his arms. He's also got quite the archery skills too.

Speaking of which, he appears to be a serious person who doesn't shit from anyone. World setting still remains interesting in terms of the overall concept and actions looks fluid. I wonder how much they plan to develop Bisco's character though.

JUNNA's OP is quite the aesthetic, so as Bisco and Milo's ED. Both songs though are quite the bangers.

It's finally time that the Man-Eater Akaboshi Bisco shows himself, and rather than the title he's been misidentified by people, he's the Mushroom Keeper whom seeks out mushrooms to heal people, most particularly the Sabikui Rust-Eater mushroom which can cure one from the full Rusting endemic. The crab Akutagawa and the accompanying old man Jabi are quite the tag team together with Bisco, fighting off the Imihama Watch.

So what's the Imihama Watch? An organization that leverages on animals such as lizards and hippos for horsebacks, and Escargot snails for planes with the usual military firepower that's not to be trifled with. To make matters even more complex, there's the issue between Governor Kurokawa (and his Bunny elite team) and Milo's sister Pawoo whom has their own teams that do not get along with each other, yet have the same objective: to capture Bisco.

So far, Bisco has to learn how to work together with Milo, because when they do, they can go far. Things as of right now and still a jumble, but thankfully not a mess as this show continues to be such a wild ride, and I'm loving it more than most. Just hoping that Jabi will come out of this alright.

Studio OZ (feat. NAZ) is turning to be Ufotable 2.0.

The OP is really cool. Bisco Akaboshi, the wanted criminal has launched a mushroom terrorist attack in Imihama, using his bow to make huge mushrooms bloom everywhere. Bisco has been looking for medicine that can save his master Jabi, who is very ill. He took off after they got attacked by the governor's people.

The OST is pretty awesome and beautiful at times, and his arrows as well. Bisco himself is pretty strong as well, tossing those Hippos like that. LOL. Bisco and his master's relationship with him is quite sweet and you can tell that Bisco really cares about his master. Akutagawa, the crab is cute. I hope Jabi becomes alright. Panda sensei is caring. Also, Pawoo is angry. The ED is quite good imo.

As expected OZ staffs are showing their skills .
As we can see those slow motion camera movements, character expressions , explosions and some good smears .
Opening song by Junna is pretty much making me dancing.
Series composition was good that now everything makes sense . Hands down for the script composition.
Akaboshi bisco all infiltration for curing the old gramps makes sense now .
Those whales visuals in the Opening songs giving me Re zero subaru vs Whale fight Vibes .
Underrated Gem . 8+ Deserves

I'm surprised that the animation isn't consistent. You'd think having the guy who was the animation director for the Fate series would make the animation Godly, but apparently that's just a Ufotable thing apparently

Things getting more interesting as we see both how Bisco and Jabi entered the city and why Bisco came to Milo specifically. Along with them still trying to outrun these local cops and the governor's special forces. Of course that was Bisco at the entrance gate talking to that customs agent last episode. Trying to pull a fast one pretending to be a priest so he can sneak in. That giant crab that Bisco and Jabi have is cool as shit. That thing is pure badass and is basically a more mobile tank. Taking high caliber bullets and acid like its nothing. Which explains why Bisco broke into Milo clinic since he's the best doctor around whom can help Jabi with his bullet wounds. Made me laugh when Bisco said he intimidated three people about where's the best doctor and they all said Milo. Jabi apparently also being affected by this rusting disease same as Pawoo is. Bringing some similarities to Bisco and Milo as they both have someone they care about slowly dying from this disease. They could definitely use each others help. The big question is what's going on with the governor, what's his deal, why's he want Bisco dead so badly and why does he have his own like special police force that's separate from the city's.

Finally, the action kicked in. First episode was full of dialogues but this show has crazy potential with the sakuga. The opening is really beautiful and the OST is solid as hell.
Akaboshi Bisco randomly dropped in Imihama and succesfully got close to Milo.
Some information about Imihama Watch was really interesting and their main goal is to capture Bisco and that's also Pawoo's goal. Great action, animation and OST.

Wasn't as bored with this episode as a whole than the first one but it had its moments. Bisco himself's a lot more flat of a character so far than I expected (and the lack of chemistry between Bisco and Milo in the moments they were together in this episode), animation had its good moments with the amount of action in this episode but also had its really rough moments too, especially with the crab. It was generally inconsistent for the most part. The confrontation with Pawoo and Bisco for the cliffhanger sounds good on paper. Overall, not much to sing praise about in this episode but I've seen much worse than this episode in this season for sure. Will say that there are comparisons with this to Dorohedoro and while I still agree that the world itself is eccentric, Dorohedoro's world (The Hole) feels much more grim and interesting and the characters actually had personality very early on compared to this series and its world and characters. Hopefully this show picks up though with the next episode.

This anime is definitely a failure. The story is difficult to understand due to the pointless transposition of the timeline. This director will never make a masterpiece anime.

Oh man they ended just before the fight between Bisco and Pawoo :(

The OP is an absoulute banger, ED is good and the OSTs are really great too.

I noticed use of CGI in this episode, wasn't too distracting but I knew it was there, especially the crab and the bike felt like CG.

Milo is quite a noble guy, he's a doctor at heart, will heal everyone.

I liked the chemestry between Jabi and Bisco, we can see how much Bisco cares about Jabi. Also Bisco is incredibly strong, he tossed away a goddamn hippo with just his hands wtf.

Good episode overall. 4/5

Looking forward to next episode.

I'm definitely seeing some progression with the worldbuilding and the visual in the OP is so fucking good, especially when it's sang by the lovely JUNNA :D! Bisco with the arrow ability looks already promising from the start and the Mushroom is just too satisfying when it's gradually growing. Now I know for sure that Mushrooms can benefit your health problems, thanks Bisco for reminding me that, I've taken a liking to eating Mushrooms now. Bisco seems to be a threatening guy at first sight, also the fucking rabbits shot him without being able to see, how is that even possible, they're absolutely skilled with their senses but dang them shooting was one of the most iconic thing that fits a vibe in some era. Also the crab can talk LOL??? Man this is fucking cool, I'm already liking how the crab can do the order given by Bisco and even the hippos are able into being able to pull up some explosion but that was honestly a sick scene in all literally opinion. Bisco is so strong which what makes him an absolute giga chad of this series, imagine being able to carry a hippo like that wtf that's so impeccable, even Chiroru compliment his competence and about Chiroru herself, I want to see what ability she got :P Also Bisco seems like a carefree person when taking care of his master and the food they're eating are very exotically disgusting but that's what they eat during their era. Honestly this sounds predictable that master Jabi is going to die but we must keep his legacy for what he has done to train Bisco into becoming a better archery giga chad but situation wise can be relatable when Bisco reacted aggressively to Jabi dying soon. The crab is growing gradually in front of me, also this overall desert punk setting during the evening reminds me of an upgrade from macbook but overall it looks reminiscing. Chiroru is about to attack Bisco? Will she be able to beat the shit out of him? Well so far he's getting electrified by a snake but as expected, Jabi near death experience during such horrendous event might be traumatizing for me to watch but hopefully Milo can heal Jabi gradually, and at this moment, I started to understand Milo's character trait: sympathetic and kind-hearted, well that can be observant from the very beginning but that's what I've realized just now and I guess everyone including Pawoo has a similar objective to capture Bisco lol. Also Chiroru is so cute in her chibi segment at the end trying to prove her innocence. Already some improvements I'm seeing, can't wait for some more action packed baby. YOO ED IS SANG BY RYOUTA AND NATSUKI WHO BOTH RESPECTIVE VOICE BISCO AND MILO, was surprisingly shocked when they sang and it's actually so good.

I mean, sure, they got all these people that makes you think its gonna be fucking amazing but it's also a studio who, in the past, only helped other studios before. this is their first anime series for Oz studio and it's doing a pretty solid job so far as a first anime. Also its the director's directorial debut.

Tho, is Grandpa really dying that early? There's no build up or whatsoever to kill the guy this early.

This is a big LN in Japan and the adaptation was very anticipated, OZ was obviously highly regarded if they were offered the project. So lets not act like they're some unknown studio.

The aesthetic is mwah chef's kiss. I'm digging the grudge metal soundtrack as well. Out of all the anime running this season, this one really sticks out. A corrupt post apocalyptic world afraid of a mushroom themed robin hood. Seriously how does semi-original ideas and lesser seen settings not get more people watching this show.

The concept and characters are good. Nice story nice weapons cool crab and so on.

Negatives? Awkward transitions between scenes. The whole episode was just kinda awkward in how stuff rolled out and it seems to be mainly the fault of whoevers directing everything. Things just roll out weird. One second we're at Panda's home then suddenly we're in some tunnel then suddenly we find out Bisco is running around shooting his Rambo sized clip of arrows.
Then Panda's sister who randomly went out to find bisco suddenly found him.

Bit weird. They also keep showing us stuff as if we know about it. Apparently the watch is a thing? Weird ways to introduce stuff idk.

The world building too. Not very smooth i guess. Still an enjoyable anime but i hope these transitions and storytelling smooth out a bit

This anime is surprising me very positively!
I think Jabi is up to something, as he was pretending to be passed out while listening to Bisco and Milo's conversation.
In the next episode there will be the first big battle of the anime, I hope it will surprise me positively as it has been happening in this anime.
This Ending is really good too!

Characters seem so out of place, story cuts are anoying and there is no progression at all. In comparisson with really great first episode, this one was just bad. But music still bangs.

What we learnt this episode:

1. Is the pacing a little too fast at some points?!
2. Slugs are disgusting
3. Pawoo is still hot
4. Hippos are cute
5. The op is a banger
6. The crab is dope
7. The CG was good

Is the rust bad?
YES!

What do mushrooms do?
Lots of stuff ig

And what will happen next episode?
That's still a mystery (don't watch the fucking preview you sick fucks)

That is...

I don't see what was the point of mixing past and present when what happened was probably just couple days apart and connection was as straightforward and obvious as possible. I'm afraid visuals and that kind of directing are just there to cover up lack of substance. It reminded me of Guilty Crown and that's not a good sign. Hopefully it won't be as disappointing.

My expectation shattered, cause there it is, the thing I'm annoyed with, bad CGI 😑 esp those on its opening. It's one of the worst I've ever seen, even it's worse than first eps showed in Arifureta S2, that even looks quite bad already. And the plot seems scattered out of place, for example after Bisco kidnapped Milo and sent the building, himself, and Milo flying, and then Milo screamed, he suddenly having a camp with Jabi (where is Milo, he disappeared lol). If the same quality will be showed for the rest of episodes, this show would go downhill, even though the LN is award-winning. But due to its decent worldbuilding, still give this a chance

The energy was decent, I'm quite intrigued about how they will fill the next episodes, the elements are aesthetically random but fit decently into the vision of the anime, and the goals of the characters makes sense in order to elaborate something, hope that it isnt as all over the place as some other anime that proposes this kind of settings.
The back and forth narration wasnt as much as a problem for me, it worked to build up the motivation and outline the personality of Bisco while building forward the interactions with Milo and the environment, but maybe the interaction between the forces of Kurokawa and the watchers could have been done better, I suppose that they will elaborate it afterwards anyways

I don't understand why people get so confused with the timeline transitioning, seems like if we don't get a completely linear show we can't enjoy it. Just wait to see how things roll out and get explained, be patient.

I wonder how Bisco got the arrow through that helicopter. The old man said that it was impossible. Is it either skill, or does it have a weak point? Hope it explains it later.
I also wonder how those arrows create mushrooms.

Also, how is this only a 7.5?
