Yea it seemed pretty out of the blue. But I really hope that they give us some sort of a explanation down the line. It doesn't make sense for it to be there but hey if it's cool it doesn't have to XD. Really curious how they go about this.

True.. but what if it gets better? I mean I've never seen a motorcycle used in a setting like such. If it gets enough reasoning for it bring there then I'm cool with it but if it just has some lame ass reason then yep it's pretty bad.

This is singlehandedly the worse thing i’ve seen yet this season, and even though its just begun i can safely say probably will stay that way. It was so goofy and dumb, and not in a funny way, that it inspires a pure form of rage. The characters were bland, with non-existent motivations, the setting got destroyed the second a motorcycle was introduced. The villian are… cat people? And apparently one of their greatest evils is persecution of a noble exploitive class who really DID start wars and extort their own people. Like bro maybe its too much to persecute their children but i feel no sadness for the dude who owned serfs and started feudal wars because people don’t like them for what they actually are. I swear to god this must have been written by an actually warring states daimyo with just how boring and overuses the tropes are and how it feels like feudalism apologetics. Overall its being dropped here, might watch it in a few months if people claim it gets better but it probably won’t.

Yup there is motorbike powered by crystals like there are flying houses (you can see them in ending) which fly by means of those crystals, it's kind of tech-magic based on crystals which was brought by Oni from their realm, thats why miners are considered so valuable. The world seems very inspired by this of Gintama by means of mixing new things with those of period. Baseline human technology stopped as per intro during sengoku period (1467-1615) by invasion of Oni, action goes around 150 years after invasion so we have a concept of technology after 150 years of mixing which by autor means crystal powered motrobikes and locked in air houses aswell as other thing not shown in anime yet.

This series isn’t a samurai setting world this a magic/science fiction series with Samurais. The only reason u think it probably don’t fit is because your seeing the these motorcycles threw the protagonists eyes who don’t understand what they are because of how isolated their community is from the outside world. But the rest of the world they are common place and are other science fiction things in the series.

Well, it is a problem when you only see the bike and it's a feudal Japan setting. No one explained anything about the oni crystals or the technology of the world. If they do in the next episode, cool. I can accept it.

Did you not watch the opening sequence? It already spoiled Motorcycle's existance? Magical bikes exist in this world, that's the explanation, they are fueled with crystals.
Of course it was still terribly presented whe Kojiro rammed into demon out of nowhere and even had Musashi's pickaxe.

You are speedwatching. Literally the first seconds of episode show that country's name is Hinomoto not Japan.

My guy it’s the first episode it’s setting up the ground work. It does explain it and completely make sense. U judge the whole series on the first episode. When the series isn’t set in feudal japan. Never argued about the animation and design wise. Since I don’t care to argue about your opinions

Honestly, idk what to say. I don't have a problem with a motorbike existing in this very Feudal Japan inspired world per se, it's just that it looks SO out of place. The design is cringe af, like when a 5 y.o. thinks their biker uncle is cool so they draw their own fantasy bike, but instead this is made by adults and supposed to be taken seriously...

Maybe the animation is at fault, ultimately. I think a more stylized or smoothly animated show could totally pull of a motorcycle in that setting, but the animation is so weak that it just looks like a badly drawn plastic toy with incorrect angles half of the time.
I WANT to like this, I'm always down for a straightforward adventure and as a huge Magi fan, the character designs are right up my alley obviously, but the motorbike is like, the perfect summary of everything that feels wrong about this show so far 🏍

I mean I'm not complaining, I personally enjoyed the anime of course it's not impressive by any means but it was enjoyable, and the problem is that people think that every anime is demon slayer and jujutsu kaisen because how impressively animated they are while story wise they as cliché as you can get but with good moments, and I really hope that this anime gets some recognition I really do
