Full OP Song is here with english subtitles

https://youtu.be/q_D-RwPA07k

---------------------------------------------------

here is the best quality of the OP song so far https://youtu.be/phBfvgVBQmg

the OP song is stuck in my head for sometime now really loving it and although the visuals are average the symbolism of the Tree of Life in the end branching out symbolizes the Parallel Universes or Many Worlds Interpretation our main character is experiencing

and the song lyrics is great too

so thoughts?

The OP isn't bad by any means, but it sounds a bit generic and asu e no houkou is just far better. I personally believe that they should've hired JAM project again for the new op, since they also made asu e no houkou

I don't dislike the OP but Jam Project is just built different.

The OP is good but not an earworm, first time seeing the lyrics and those also look pretty good. In terms of earworm status I think the ED fits that more than the OP.

It won't happen from the start. Muv-Luv (or rather Age/aNCHOR) is now under Avex Inc which has its own music publishing company. Of course Avex will use their own singers over Lantis Inc.

I don't really like the op singer's voice, sounds nasally. ED is ok.

It's okay I guess, did not like it much at first but it grew on me. Certainly not worse than the majority of anime openings these days, most of the songs are pretty generic and forgettable.

It's quite nice, but Asu e no Houkou is just so more epic and emotional. The music is the better part of the anime, tho.

Considering the situation, it could be worst. Avex wants their own assets and that's what we are getting.

But in the end the OP and ED feels pretty generic. It's something I'd listen to, but not in a anisong sense, especially the ED.

The best OP song of the year. It completely wipes out the opening of the visual novel (Which was the worst OP considering the quality of the openings of that period).

Asu e no Houkou is a generic trash song you can find in doujin CDs at that time. Hell I remember threads back then complaining how bad it is. Listening to it now even in FLAC is just unlistenable. It's a badly mixed song. Jam Project back then was known as a garbage version of Milktub.

Rinne has more effort, fare better instrumentation and emotion. The quality of the song is just a far above from the trashy OPs in the last few years.

The full song is out and it didn't disappoint. It makes more sense and is closer to the game's story than Asu he no Houkou. That song should be buried, it's that bad. Maybe it's not my type of music but it's really doesn't have anything that makes an impression.

The vocals are bad, It's either autotuned or it was recorded that badly, I'm learning on the former. It reminds me of bad visual kei bands. Voice reverb effects shouldn't be used as a vocal harmonisation effect. Nostalgia can make things better than they are.

Seriously Vtubers are changing the anime music in a good way. Mori Calliope, Dustcell, Kaf then V.W.P and Ado. All of their are young and I can't wait to listen to actual good anime music again. Reiwa era definitely started with a bang.

I really wonder if this OP would be viewed so harshly if Ado was singing it. That last part wouldn't even crack her voice (which I don't mind at all since I hate singers that use autotune).

Ad hominem is useless. JAM Project is an overrated project that didn't really produced anyfhing of value in VNs. They aren't Milktub (Overdrive), Jun Maeda (Key) or Barbarian on the Groove (A lot of VNs). The members are old men so it's not really surprising their songs sound cringy. They are plenty of good anime bands out there. Supercell/Egoist are good examples, probably the best since their influence has gone beyond anime songs.

Enjoyed the OP song and can be earworm sometimes, but the OP is more fitting in Unlimited or the training arc. Something from JAM Project or Granrodeo will be more fitting for Alternative.

The song is still too cheery for alternative. But it seems like the lyrics are written with the
in mind

Yeah come to think of it, the OP does not fit the tone of Alt at all. Why is it all happytunes when the plot of the show is supposed to be despair? It's like mixing water with oil, does not go together.

I'd say it fits the tone of the earlier parts quite well, which are much more upbeat and optimistic than when things go to shit in what would be a second season. If they make one I hope the tone for its opening will be a lot more somber.

I personally really like it, this may seem like a weird comparison to make but it really reminds me of the Highschool of the Dead OP, it also gives me a 2000s vibe which I also really like. The ED is also good, they’re definitely two favorites of mine this season.
