THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

It looks like the show maintains a strong sense of bond and connections with the cast. Definitely important since Yuki herself has trustworthy friends.

I like the real life slice of life parts from this episode tbh, more than the action drama. Glad to see others like Sonoko getting some deserved screen time. Unfortunately, it looks like they won't be able to maintain such a peaceful life without fighting.

Aya definitely raised a hell lot of death flags throughout the episode with her increased screentime of her duties as a Miko with tree planting outside the barrier and the fun times with Mebuki. Now we're coming back to the Hero chapter with the sacrifice brought up again

Shizuku's ANGY side is revealed too, epik

Alright episode

Tempo felt a little fast, but I guess that's necessary since it looks like they are trying to cover a lot of material in this season. I also wish they weren't so CG friendly. I understand using it in scenes with a lot of characters, but when it's just the main 5, I wish they toned it down a little bit.

I wonder where this is all leading... I already miss the chemistry between the main group ._.

and yeah, they're being real liberal with the CG. not that it's a problem for me but a bit surprising.

Yup, once again, I find that a real shame that the show adapts KuMeYu without adapting the most important which is Mebu's development (and I really wasn't fond of the way they introduced Shizuku's other personality). But well, this episode wasn't that bad, at least I preferred it to the previous one. Mebu's conversation with Aya was particularly cute. Since the show completely skipped an important part of the story, I'm curious to see how it will go, while disappointed I'm still open to something different, as long as it's good.

One thing that is really bothering me though, is that this season was advertised as a sequel to the Hero Chapter, yet it actually is an adaptation of KuMeYu. It just would've been nice for it not to lie about what it really is (I raised my expectations too high because of that). Well, maybe it will tie the current plot with a new one involving the main cast, but I can't help but have a bad feeling about it.

Now I'm not sure if I'm mixing up KuMeYu's source material with YuYuYu's, but we did have the scene of Karin and Fuu looking for the cat in the original, right? Quite fun, then, to have it seen from another angle, sneaking around previous events Back-to-the-Future-II-style.

Still, though, so far this is stuff I've read before, so I'm getting a little eager to get back to anime-original material with the main group.
Well I for one already loved Lain.

I'm looking forward to see Mebuki's groups and Yuuna's groups to join forces in the upcoming episodes.

Yumiko, she's so fun to see, I want more of her.

ah, the horrors again of human sacrifice in this show.

those Taisha are just as creepy as the monsters of this show. They're like fanatical cultists of some sort.

they make those girls risk their lives to plant a seedling outside, then now they want to have it back?!

they should ask the Hero Club for help.

Suzume met the Yusyabu.
Mebuki and Aya.
Papa?
Aya as a sacrifice?
Dat ending.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

Eh. I’m just not liking this season nearly as much as the previous 3. I don’t particularly care for mecha anime, and while it was an interesting touch for the first two, this season is REALLY going hard on that aspect. As for the characters, I’m just struggling to care about this new group after we spent ~24 episodes building up the original five/six. I’ll keep watching in hopes it returns to its roots, but so far, this seems like an entirely different show just roughly set in the same universe.
