Yesterday, they released the episode count of season 2, which both include the Mugen train arc and the next arc, to be 18 episodes. Only 11 episodes is dedicated to actual new content since the first seven are for recap. Ufotable could have easily adapt the next arc after the red light district since the studio has not produced anything else since Mugen Train film. I guess they must be running low on cash...

Edit: I love how people are just being triggered at the fact that at the end of the day this recap was only for making a quick buck. It's okay, you don't gotta justify it. I'm not judging you for enjoying it.

U know S2 airs in WINTER 2022, not fall. It starts on December 5th. Besides, the comments r calling it out saying the two aren’t the same. Just stop spreading misinformation LMAO

Another thing, if it is part of S2, it would make sense because S1 had 26 or something episodes. The 18 episodes are separate from Mugen Train, but it is pretty BS

I dont think you're aware that the first episode of season 2 is 1hour long which is basically the length of 3 episodes So I don't see a problem with it.
And the mugen train arc explores extra content which wasnt shown in the movie. i personally don't have nor see a problem with this.

Bruh, the person who got the info is a reputable source. Not to mention if was to be two separate seasons then there should have been two different time slot for when it airs in Japan. There are no signs that say it is gonna happen in two different timeslots. Also, calm down.

It is listed as hour long time slot, which means you have to factor in the ads, which probs bring it down to a 42-47 run time. Yes, there is no problem, but you can't deny this is a cash grab move.

Running low on cash. Seriously? More like they want more money. And this is normal because its BUSINESS. They already have money by doing Opening Animation for games, visual novel and animating Fate Series already. They just want more money and I don’t blame them.
The first episode of Entertainment District is 1 hour for TV. Take of all of the ads in the middle of episodes(because its TV), its 42-48 minutes which is 2 episodes. Basically, 12 episodes are enough for Entertainment District. They just want to recap the Mugen Train for money and people that watch later can know everything without watching the movie.

Mugen train series is actually 7 episodes and it's not even mentioned as season 2 anywhere, even on netfflix it says Mugen Train arc and not season 2. The second season will pick up after this arc ends.
Pretty sure no one makes useless stuff when they are low on money, making extra cash ? sure.

I don't have the source on hand, but I heard about something that Ufotable was tax evading for quite a time. Lemme look up the source real quick.

Just watch it. Fans won't be disappointed.

It's under 30 mins long.
Takes place before the movie, showing events leading up to how some of the characters get onto the train.
Also has some parallel views that line up with what the characters were doing in the final episode of season 1 and in the movie.

I'm assuming you bothered looking that up and making this thread because you genuinely like Demon Slayer and care about it. So, hear me out: the anime industry sucks, it has sucked for a while and it will still suck in the future. The insane amount of anime being made today has it's toll: overworked and underpaid staff, which leads to the lack of quality in the majority of anime. Very few studios go against this work model, Kyoto Animation and Ufotable are good examples. Ufotable pays most of their staff on salary, which means the majority of the people working on their anime aren't outsourced. The orgasmic animation and use of CG in their anime doesn't happen because producers spend a lot of money, it happens because there's time and talent behind it, new animators being trained while working with healthy schedules under animators that they know and work with every day. With that said this type of anime studios don't make a lot of money due to the insane amount of anime produced, so it's only natural that they would market a lot of what they do. And it's not like Red District Arc would begin on October if there was no recap. This recap allows then to make some money back, and ads more content to an arc that fans really loved.

You’re right, it is a cash grab. Demon Slayer is the #1 anime right now, so of course they’re going to milk it for as many arcs and episodes that they can. As long as they don’t mess anything up, I’m not mad about it.

It’s just filler🤷🏽‍♀️

I mean, anime production needs money, so it's totally fine for them to make some kind of cash grab once in a while. Besides, recaps are nothing new, this one for Mugen Train just happens to be a bit longer with extra content.

Anime studios and producers: makes a recap with some original content to earn more money for the production and give more time to the staff that is working on the series (and ufotable is earning a lot since they are a big part of the production committee)

MAL users: nooooo cash grab cash grab, we need new content not to fill your pockets

And then they're also the ones that critique MAPPA for pumping out anime at a reasonable rate for the staff that they have plus freelancers... yeeesh. Also, it's 7 episodes of Muggen Ressha Hen plus 18 of the second season. The official information that we have says that, since season 2 starts in winter 2022, not autumn. But yeah, it says a lot about you that you are trusting more in the words of a leaker instead of official info

Jesus christ, It's not a recap. Recap is condensed summary of the plot with voiceover. This is tv broadcast of the movie in 6 parts. Just watch first episode and you can tick it as complete and wait til December for new episodes.

I would love to know what source you got this information from.

Also, there is a big difference in a series that consistently tops sales charts from manga to movies to merchandise compared to your average show, making average sales. It is a cash grab. Also, even when a show makes alot of profits it is only the best interest for companies on the production committee to reair, not the animation studio since most of them are not on the production committee to receive a share of the profits. If you want to change the work conditions to be a healthy environment, you at least need to reform this broken system. Not continuing perpetuating the same old system except, Ufotable is better off than most.

Offend? Where's the offending part here? So if someone makes fun of Studio Deen because of the animation, it means they are offending the studio or the fans who liked it? Chill out dude, have some water. There were many possibilities why the studio did this TV version of Mugen Train and cashgrabbing can be one of them. It's the studio's fault for evading paying taxes dude.

And PS: anyone can be offended if someone says an unpopular opinion about demon slayer.

How can u be this confident while this 7eps were made for cash grabbing infact it’s already clear that mugen train arc was included in season 2 before the movie . Tax evasion wasn’t studio’s fault ? It’s the owner who was responsible for tax evasion and it was his own personal matter that’s nothing related to studio . Well studio deen is studio deen and ufotable is ufotable.

This kinda reminds me of the Washio film trilogy in the Yuuki Yuuna franchise cause those got put into TV broadcast form later on, except with that case, it seemed a bit more condensed, whereas here it's actually adding additional parts that didn't make the cut into the film.

Too bad the writing quality won't be any different.

The Studio is paid by the producers to make the Anime. The most of the revenue goes to the producers while the Studio is mostly underpaid for all the hard work they have done. Let's not forget that they are also overworked.

So, very much a unnecessary and a trash move. This why a lot of people have been doing tax evasion so they can feed their staffs.

Then the movie should have not been made. Because revenue from these movies goes mostly to the producers. So, the Studio are dependent on the payment to go on. But the payment is also not a healthy amount. So, the animators are overworked and underpaid.

Mean while now a lot of movie watcher could have just paid subscription to watch the Mugen train arc but paid extra from the movie. And can't skip the TV series because it might be released attached to the next arc. So, they have to pay for it.

Everyone here is disrespected instead of hardcore fans that will consume even all the non-sense they find and the greedy producers.
