Not going to lie, I had fun watching this episode for the goofy and more emotional moments. The snowboarding part was pretty amusing.

On the other hand, I think it's really nice to see Horohoro getting a lot of spotlight. Such an underrated character. Anna also had an important role this episode.

It was a very surprising episode to say the least.

I've been anxious about the scene of Anna vs the Shikigami ever since the episode count was revealed.

I was very worried they are going to cut too much of it, and instead we got an extended scene.

Though, I can't say for sure as I can barely hear anything when watching at work, but I believe despite the scene being extended, the dialogue lines I wanted to hear so much... Weren't included. Will confirm later with BS broadcast.

Of course in return Horohoro's side story got trimmed but I doubt anyone would complain about this trade.

As a Horohoro fan, this was easily the best episode so far!! Much more to come from Horohoro🥺💙

Next episode is also interesting, time for Ryu to get the respect he deserves!!!😭✊

This is the Horohoro that was missing from the old series. Thank you Bridge. I love his development. He's by far my favorite character in the manga.

The Great Onmyouji Asakura Hao, that somehow resurrected into the Hao of the current. And Yoh has to face all that atrocity with no way of going back, even with the extensive history of feud between an internal family's problems. Since Anna can learn it fast, she'll signal for Yoh's improvement.

Obacho in Hao's presence is gleaming...and Horohoro becomes one with the snow.

Horohoro's story with park ranger Bluebell Bloch with her raised bear Apollo, asking for co-existence between humans and gods, but sending Apollo back to where it belongs in the wild with his character development. Horohoro fans must be so elated now.

Good episode...mostly about Horohoro.

Rip bear, Horohoro's new battle gear looked amazing, too bad Yoh still wears kid's clothes.

Loved this episode. Very important Horohoro story that didn't make it into the 2001 show at all (though there was that other story about a ghost bear in it's place).

Really like HoroHoro's mindset. Pretty Ainu-like as expected. Such a shame his side-story was condensed to just half an episode tho.

I never really gave credit to how great horohoro is and I'm glad this episode changed my mind. What a great character

I love his whole beliefs and this was an unexpected episode (in terms of direction) but it was a nice way to keep me engaged without putting any focus on yoh.

Poor apollo :(

I wasn't expecting him to die and I was genuinely expecting this whole thing to end with a happy ending and for apollo to get the happiness he deserves. As sad as it is, I'm glad this series decided to take the darker approach and it fit well with horohoro's ideals.

I really appreciate him more as a character now and it was done well. Good episode

That was a really good episode! I loved the stuff with Hao and then Horohoro. Anna is a fucking beast, deleted Hao's shikigamis just like that. Hao is really interesting, from how he interacts with his henchmen, he seems like a good leader.

Definitely like Horohoro a whole lot more after that episode, that black outfit looks so slick. I also liked that ranger girl Bluebell. Looks like next episode will be focused on Ryu, will we finally see the final evolution of his pompadour lmao.

That's not how Shaman King power system works. The perceived "new power" is just what his oversoul looks like when he uses an Ikupasuy as amedium.

Yes that oversoul would be stronger than one in his snowboard, but that's because a ceremonial item of the Ainu culture is of more significance to Kororo than a snowboard is.

The only way to gain a power up is to experience death, let your soul attune itself with the other world, and come back. Anything other than that is just making a better or worse use of your mana bar.

"When the pieces come together" - and then like two thirds of the episode is a Horohoro sidestory. Where they don't even properly resolve Kororo's disappearance, she's just suddenly there again.

Oh well. At least we can obsess over how this boy with his ice aspect and snowboard has one of the skimpiest outfits because of course he does. xD

today only i watched first episode and i stopped because it think once its completed binge watching it would be a better option but i have to say one thing that i am very happy to see the animation style i simply love this animation style unlike the generic looking majority anime style in 2020-2021 they all simply look like low budget slice of life ,even the colour palate is good

Before this episode I've always been keen on the idea of making an OVA for Hororo sidestory but after watching what they've done, I think it fits well withing the structure. First Hororo gets to shine then Ryu is next in line for the power upgrade. It's nice to see the crew evolving.

Another rushed but okay episode. But damn they really fucked up the timing and framing of Apollo getting shot. It came off super comedic and I laughed my ass off which should not be happening.

You shot a bear, and you didn't see the two people or the Park Ranger truck with its HEADLIGHTS ON??? *sigh* OITOITE...

This was the best ep of this series for me so far. Horohoro said it all. Humans are a part of nature. We are a part of the structure of this planet. It's not even surprising or uncommon that humans can overrun a delicately balanced ecological system and destroy it. It's happened probably many times with other species. A flying, floating, swimming or even an especially nomadic creature invades an ecosystem and completely disrupts it.

The difference is, of course: INTELLIGENCE and VORACIOUSNESS. As far as we know, there's never been another more intelligent and cunning creature on this planet. And WE WANT. ALL THE TIME.

Horohoro was VERY upset about the death of Apollo. But he completely understood that it's natural. What ENRAGED him was the "hobby" part. The WANT.

Definitely a tl;dr "kewl ep, bruh" post, but oh well. I'm a fairly "hippy" kind of dude, but I've been friends with, and eaten at the tables of, quite a few hunter types. Even with "trophies" hanging on their walls. The ones I've stayed friends with, they all say the same thing: USE WHAT YOU KILL. All of them love(WANT) to hunt, but the best don't waste the results.

The sequence at the beginning with Ana was great.
Damn that was sad for the whole Hororo and giant bear, he got killed for nothing by the hunters...

She turned off her headlights when she got out of the truck though. Park Ranger girl was on a hill, so she probably wasn't even in view. Though Idk how they missed Horohoro, considering he was standing right beside Apollo when he was licking his wounds. Only thing I can guess is they all had tunnel-vision through their scopes or thought Apollo was gonna attack Horohoro or something, lol.

This is a brilliant episode.

Horohoro interested in Morphine, lmao Kororo got a bit jealous

Of course, he'd be the one to try and create some understanding between Apollo the bear and humans. Got some insight into how his people view living creatures. Hororo was enraged at the poachers for killing bears as a hobby and not for sustenance.

Hmm, i have mixed feelings about this episode.
I love that we got more closure on hororo, but it felt kind of empty all the same. we get to see him in new outfit and all, but it means nothing in the overall story when it happened in some random "bear" case with hunters. why did we got revealed on his new attack while it was against "mere" humans? lol
And the all kororo leaving hororo felt empty too. I wished to see more of her emotions here.

We do get more information on Hao, but I feel it's nothing new the 2001 version showed us already.

Overall the pace is at least decent. but the cheap production is still hurting this adaption.
