Okay I kinda knew something was wrong if it was gonna end with a wholesome ending, so the game of baseball threw me back in. But Ooishii killing the others?

R e a l l y ? It doesn't even make sense.

So we have a three episode build for a super rushed payoff??
Nobody asked Satoko anything during the protests, so I figured that would be for a reason. I hoped there would be a moral here to learn, a plot twist, anything.
But no ...

'yeah everyone died' THE END
Arc was interesting enough but man wat a stupid ending. I heard it is supposed to get better now so I hope

That was gruesome! Though for a moment there, I thought the one who hit Keiichi with a bat was Satoko. They were alone in the house after all.

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

I was expecting the stupid ending lol. But not to that extent.

I am seeing a lot of Umineko here which I haven't watched yet. Oh well. I will try decipher what goes down.

Damn this was a solid arc. I was thinking of dropping the show but the latest arc with Satoko re-sparked my interest in the anime and it was very entertaining. But now we're back at square one, huh...

For how long will this cycle continue?

Arc begins ➜ stuff happens ➜ Rena says "blah blah-kana, kana!" ➜ Riku makes the very annoying "Mipaaa" sound ➜ watanagashi festival ➜ everyone dies ➜ new arc begins ➜ stuff happens (but now the story's focused on a different girl) ➜ Rena says "blah blah-kana, kana!" ➜ Riku makes the very annoying "Mipaaa" sound ➜ watanagashi festival ➜ everyone dies ➜ repeat
I really love how Annoying Rika is when she say Mipaaa. Idk why. Its annoying. And I like it

Quite disappointed in this episode... and this arc as a whole, honestly. I mean, it's just been 5 episodes just retelling Minagoroshi (with a few scenes from Tatarigoroshi at the beginning?) beat for beat--and it wasn't even that good an adaption.
After sitting through 4 episodes boringly repeating events that I've already experienced, I was expecting some massive pay off to make up for it, something that would blow my mind, like the end of Tatarigoroshi. But nope, all we get is a brief scene of Keiichi (probably hallucinating himself) beating the shit out of Teppei, which I couldn't even take seriously due to the gratuitous blood and how out-of-nowhere it was. And then Keiichi wakes up in the hospital and Rena tells him that Ooishi shot up the Watanagashi festival... and we don't even get to see any of it happening.

Well, hopefully the rest of the series will have more to offer than this arc.

I m liking this a lot so far, easily better than S1 done by Deen, then again, S1 wasn't a good adaptation of the source material, which is still the best IMO.

Want to see where Ryukishi07 is going with this but so far, it is definitely nice to have more new Higurashi content, even if it is a reset in the sense that the circumstances that were once dealt with, are now reset and back to strike again.

Think any fan of the show can see why the cop has gone on a murder spree.
Satoko was cute blushing like that, that said, my ship is with Mion, so I hope things aren't swaying that way now.

The concept and execution of that ending to this arc was just asinine to say the least. No logical sense to any of this whatsoever, and that really applies to this whole arc and series so far. Each arc is out-dumbing the previous ones. This arc really went from Tatarigoroshi to a shittier version of Minagoroshi to a complete asspull out of nowhere with abysmal pacing to back it all up. And everyone just dies off-screen again with no build at all too. This show is on another level of dogshit.

What was an incredibly emotional scene in the original got turned into an incredibly casual phone conversation. Nice. And everyone dies off screen, randomly. The end.

I dont know how I feel about this, it feels like they just tried to rush in some stuff for the twist.
There's been no signs in previous seasons of Ooishi getting even close to the same level of madness Rena just described.
Unless it's got something to do with Teppei since I highly doubt someone physically and mentally abusing a kid wouldn't be put in jail or at least held for questioning.

But for Ooishi to suddenly get the syndrome to the point of wanting to kill everyone, feels out of place.

This is the smoothest playthrough so far. Keiichi has made a name for himself and saved Satoko. But as a deceiving chapter I saw that end coming. I guess their fate is still tied to the curse. Someone will always go insane around the start of the festival and that leads to a bad end. I think the real enemy here is Oyashiro's curse. Just like in LOTR where the ring is the true enemy and not Sauron.

The time limit is June 19. Keiichi has to somehow figure out the correct route and flags to trigger to end the curse and change their fate.

so this arc was basically
with a shittier execution and ending... hah.
I guess that's not surprising considering they meshed the original question and answer arc into one questionable question arc...

quite disappointed with how they handled satoko in this arc. leaving out/making light of the scenes that was core to her character development in favor of some more fanservice-y moments with keiichi... and also that ending gore came out of nowhere. not that I expected this arc to have a happy ending. I just kinda laughed at how keiichi survived again with a fatal injury and we get him waking up confused in the hospital (2).

makes me wonder if there's importance in keeping keiichi as the focus of the arcs when it was revealed early in ep 2 that rika is directly involved with the loops

it's kinda hard to tell where this is going from now, but I'm expecting there to be a reasonable answer arc for that ending, considering how unsatisfying it was to have the rally procedure drag on and we couldn't even properly see the payoff for it (though I guess that's probably where things started to go wrong)

So if (almost) everything works out, then someone will simply randomly go crazy and shoot everyone? This is so dumb...

I don't get how satoko was killed at the festival since she went to her home.

But honestly i had the feeling when satoko called keiichi that she might have been lying. Like her uncle was not arested i mean we did not see it actually happen but he probably was arested.

I did not once see a wound on satoko from abusing making me wonder if this actually happened at all she might have been acting hoping satoshi would come back.

Also ooichi was said to come with his gun up but it was not said that he shot the people althought i think rena would have mentioned if it was someone else who was killing them and she said why did i have to watch.

How keiichi always survives is strange and to me it seems rena survives way more often then the rest to.

I dont remmenber much about the first 2 seasons since i watched them long ago but for some reason this feels more confusing to me and it feels like i totaly not get it and missing a lot of things like the hallucination parts i thought this was just a 1 time thing it did not get to me this might all be hallucinations to althought its not exactly the same as we saw in the first arc.

I do hope they wil explain everything eventualy.

Alright, alright, alright, AT LEAST A GOOD EPISODE GODDAMNIT. Finally I feel the confusion I needed to feel. Damn didn't expect Matsuribayashi to go wrong this time, it was going suspiciously well.

Still the fact they put it in the middle of the season... man it feels so rushed. The pacing was really weird and the first four episodes were, well, the same we were seeing the rest of GOU.

The twist for these arcs is so stupid compared to the VN/original anime. Seems like Oishi took the blame for whatever happened

What the fuck? My first question is how Teppei managed to escape. I have a clue on what happened to Ooishi but it really puzzles me on how Teppei reappeared.
