Aye, now I remember why Saki is one of my favorite characters in the show. Her attitude and personality is back in full force this season again. Let those tears out!

I also love her outfit for the performance this episode. Kinda makes her look badass and tough the same time.

Never expected to see Saki cry like that, it broke my heart. Thou watching Sakura cry after that made me laugh. Franchouchou's song in this episode was okay.

Oh! Yutoku Inari Shrine. It is one of the largest and one of the most famous Inari shrines in Japan.

It's a Saki episode. Ryu is kind of a hero for her, the one who brings her back on track. No wonder why she was very hyped when she knows that she will able to work with him. Saki's cry was very sad until Sakura changes the mood with her cry.
Franchouchou got their own radio channel. It was very nice progress for them to get something new, and also a little step closer to conquer the whole Saga.

I wanted to cry to because Saki's got turned down but have to laugh more at Saki's going to dry and crunchy hahaha.

That dude needs to straighten his hair, because we get to see misinterpretation from it.

No double riding xD

Felt bad for Saki, but no better way to get over your first love than to carry on a legacy to the next era. And Ryu is a damn Chad with his hairstyle lmao.

Okay right off the bat that was one hell of an entrance from ryu coming in like a complete boss. God this was a good saki focused episode and can I just say Sakura had all kinds of fun moments like her eyes literally popping out or drying up into a mummy. Can't forget to mention the song it's not bad it had sort of a 50s feel to me might have been because of the outfits though.

New OP BANGSSSS. Really nice to get a Saki focused episode. Under all that tough exterior she’s really sensitive and loving. Seeing her crying like that was really tough :/ That OST during that scene was great tho. Goosebumps.

I'm curious, what makes episode 2 funny in your opinion?

To be honest, if I'm not immediately aware of the context of the jokes, especially from Saki and Sakura, it's a bit difficult to laugh because they tend to use slapstick comedy, many who have been left behind for a long time.

Thankfully, I understand the context of the jokes. They are actually parodying Idoly Pride (I'm not kidding, IMO, they are actually portraying idol romance story that started from something related makes it impossible, but then one of the chara dies first, returns to being a ghost, and does confession there). There are many clues to Saki's words before she gets cried. Minamoto Sakura's expression really parodies what the Idoly Pride audience feels when the anime enters the story development of the premise, and it is indeed very funny. They succeeded.

But as far as I know, not everyone watched that anime, so I was wondering, what makes this episode 2 looks funny to you?

May I say that the OP slaps? It's musically different from Season 1, but I don't mind at the very slightest.

Kotarou being his usual frenetic self, and Mamoru Miyano sure is having fun as per usual.

The gangster girl Saki gets her moment to shine once again in the usual character-focused episode, not just at Yutoku Inari Shrine with Franchouchou filming marketing for TV, but also getting a chance to see White Ryu, her idolized Saga superstar to which his words are fire to her soul.

Saki is a tough girl on the exterior, but deep down, White Ryu's words penetrates her very soul, and while the link between her and Reiko in Season 1 is finally established, her feelings are heartfelt for the very first time. But to hear that Ryu's time on the radio show doesn't last long, it's sad for Saki with her sad outbursts, but to know that Ryu is giving Saga in the right hands of Franchouchou, he's relieved to let it go.

More than Sakura being a joker, she's Saki's mental and physical support. Another Franchouchou song to end things up, and another fantastic episode reliving the nostalgia of Season 1.

The answers you're looking for...can be found in Saga.

I enjoyed this episode much more than the first one.

Saki is my favorite in the group and this episode did a good job showing her growth as she takes over the radio show for the man she loved and idolized. The performance looked much better than their usual performances as well.

Also, the OP looks really great too.

Feels like we're mostly playing the hits still rather than treading truly meaningful new ground here, but at least we're back to the comedic side of this show rather than whatever episode 1 was. The humour was definitely back, and more of that energy is what this show needs to keep itself interesting.

That pompadour, though. How much time and money has Ryu spent styling that thing for so many years.

The authors separately noted in a fresh interview that they liked the interaction between Sakura and Saki because it was a great source of humor, while Junko and Ai's interaction helped more to look at the contrast between eras in the idol industry.

Shippers: we love this ship, give us more interaction in the new season!
The authors add their interaction through a subplot about a man that Saki is obsessed with.

I love that the authors still know how to entertain and troll the audience at the same time.

Totally agree, just my kind of humor. The quick cuts and the fact that it never lingered on one joke for too long made the whole episode really entertaining.

Pretty good development for Saki and that radio channel, Ryu has some crazy hairstyle xD but well seems like it's her who takes over the radio for him.

That new intro is amazing and this episode had me smiling the whole way through. It seemed to parallel the chicken episode and they talked about starting over so I wonder if the rest of the series is gonna have more parallels.

Either way I can't wait for the next episode, this is complete dumb fun.

Well, time to put the Yūtoku Inari Shrine on the list... That looked fantastic

Comedy was on point today! Cycling sequence was incredibly funny with the rear tire popping and arriving with only the handle bar in Saki's hands made me laugh a lot.

Sakura's reactions were pretty funny as usual, her eyes popping out after Saki's confession was simply hilarious and Sakura turning into a mummy was also solid stuff.

Pretty emotional episode. Nice development on Saki's character.

Also good to see those reporters again, or bloggers? I don't remember what they did again. What I do know is one of them was going after a hunch cause they recognized one of the girls last season. I hope they will keep investigating that.

Also, that OP is a fucking banger!!

This White Ryu dude is what I would imagine Ryu from Shaman King to look like in 40 years lol.

I liked this Saki-focused episode, we got to explore her character a little more and see that she has a softer side to her underneath that tough exterior. No wonder she's best girl.

Fucking lmao dude Ryu rides on the front of a windshield. What a riot. I also love what they did with his hair being floppy now that he's old. I love me some Saki so this was pretty good. The end performance was good as well. I wonder are they actually going to be regularly featured on that radio show now? That would be kinda cool.

Pretty good ep.

Seeing the girls go on TV was pretty fun and seeing Saki gush over someone like Ryu, as well him being important to her prior to her death, was pretty sweet.

Feelsbad that Saki will never grow older and thus never get a chance to be with Ryu but it's pretty cool that she and the girls have their own radio show to host.

The performance at the end was really damn good. It looked so much more better than the ones in the first season.

I'm excited for the next ep.

Saki episodes are definitely the best, no wonder she's my favorite.

Ryu was a hardboiled man, loved the dynamic between her and Ryu and how his words played a major role in her life. I love how Saki basically says you can't understand Ryu's words you need to feel them.

Great stuff, the answers we seek can be found in Saga but where can we find Saga? At the end of your answers. (:
