I feel like in this episode the plot became more twisted, there was no sense of what was going on. I feel like the girl died for nothing but I still think the episode was good. I feel we've been revealed so many plot lines now tho that there isnt a clear path of what its gonna be |

You know, with the mix of edginess, somewhat solid animation, and cheap fanservice...this feels like it could turn out to be another Taboo Tattoo or even worse, another Big Order. Either way, I want to like this series more, but then again...I'm fully prepared for disappointment. Fanservice by context in dialogue, at least it was kinda funny. Something that Franxx needed. Anywho, the mystery deepens. |
Don't believe the hype. |

In this episode: Fursuiter learns how to respect women Joke aside, I really like the dynamic of the main characters so far with Claire assuming control and dominance. I like the art and animation, some parts felt like they could have use more frames, but nothing that would make me go REEEE. OST is marvelous too along with the OP and ED songs. The story could use some more elaboration, though, but I guess we're getting there too. Overall, enjoyed this ep, and hopefully it will keep it up. It's edgy, it's inappropriate, and also a bit emotional. I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I hate ecchi, but ecchi in this anime doesn't feel like panty shots in a trashy harem anime, but as something either more intimate or/and weird in a inappropriately funny way at the same time. It adds more color to the palette. Getting some Drakengard 3 (game, not anime though) vibes from it which also got controversial opinions on its cast and story, due to people not being able to truly appreciate it. Kojiden said: The fact that this anime has a 6.8 is proof that MAL scores are meaningless. Scores on the manga have me worried it's gonna be closer to a 7 than a 8 (or somewhere above) in quality, but so far it feels like the score is just deflated because of people who didn't like the weird premise then didn't bother looking further into it. Unless it's actually going shit later. What do I know, I didn't read the manga. Regardless at this point we can assume seinen works to be few scores higher than what the MAL score says, and shounen works with few scores lower because they usually have very inflated scores due to their hive minded fandoms. And since shounen doesn't really convey deeper messages as their target demographic is underage males, it's kinda out of league when it comes to artistic and emotional value. Exhibit A: Dr Stone and KnY were roughly sitting around with a 9/10 score with just one episode out already. Pepeljasti said: This is bullshit please dont watch it.Main charachter is literally shinji ikari wanna be and plot is garbage so far.Scene where that girl entered into main charachter was discusting,it literally made me to want to throw up my dinner. That girl(I did not remember any of the names) is going to be yandere for sure and this shit is liike mirrai nikki and that show was low-tier shit. Man, you sound like personally upset over this anime for some reason. Just because you personally don't enjoy it, it doesn't mean others shouldn't watch it. It's tagged ecchi and seinen (so, not shounen), you could have check the genres before picking the anime up to decide whether it's for you or not. |

All right, Probably of all these series in the new season, Gleipnir it is wich had showned a bigger jump from episode 1 from 2 (So far, haven´t seen Tower of god and Yesterdey Wo Utatte yet). Fan service it´s still present and it doesn´t look like to go anywhere in th future(wich I considere unnecesary ´cause tle plot its seen to be good) but now we also have much more action and a better rythim so... Waiting for next episode. |

God, this is so bad Forced fan service, like showing the ass of the girl for absolutely no reason, just randomly, whiny(the annoying type) MC, story is not that interesting either so far, and there's something really weird about this anime(not in a good way) which I can't explain. I'll give it one more episode, then probably drop it. |

I have grand issue with ecchi content as long as is self aware about it and/or uses it appropriately in less serious scenes or if the show is out in out a light hearted one. I'll give another episode but I'm starting to feel a bit iffy about it. That is what basic seinen shows are like it will never be attractive to sensitive and snowflake kids. |

And yes, what you watch doesn't necessarily define you, but shounen is in fact a genre which has younger males as its target demographic, so it makes sense it generally works with subjects which are more "digestable" for people in that age group, or people with the mindset of said age group. It just comes off kinda bad when some over that age group still has a slight preference for said genre. I'm not gonna throw it against teens' heads that they enjoy shounen more, though. I just don't like when they try to discard works that conveys deeper messages that shounen could due to its limitations (not saying Gleipnir in specific is one of those though, there are two eps out, so I'm not gonna jump to assumptions). Also, I didn't say you should look for other shounen, you do you, watch what you enjoy dude. Just don't tell others to not watch something, because you in particular don't enjoy it. As for Gleipnir, I'm not upset, and my judgement for things aren't clouded by others' opinions. I'll enjoy this to the extent I can without others having any influence over it whatsoever. It's totally possible I might not like the incoming episodes and I will rate the series accordingly, while also keeping a straightforward judgement on all of its aspects, which includes the animation, design, OST, and such besides the story. |

I grudgingly put this episode on fully expecting to be adding this to the dropped list but this one episode changed my opinion on the show completely. Askaa said: holy shit that was a very good episode EDIT: i actually cant tell if i like the main characters or not i have a mix feeling Yup, completely agree. There are times when I find Shuuichi kind of annoying, but I think that is the purpose of his character in a weird way. I think his weak and timid personality is meant to be juxtaposed with Claire's strong willed demeanor. kuroneko99 said: The boy turns into a powerful gear and the girl turns into the pilot. It reminds me of the setting of Evangelion. Also his helplessness at the battle is similar to that of Ikari Shinji trapped into Eva controlled by a dummy plug, but the relationship is contorted from it. It's funny you say that, because I was thinking the same thing this episode. At least; you can see clear influence from EVA. I thought this episode was much stronger than the first; thematically speaking it is much more clear what this show wants to say. Both characters are "empty" in a sense. It is only together; despite how they perceive each other, that they can both become whole. I thought the scene when Claire went inside Shuuichi was actually tasteful in its approach. I don't feel the need to explain the metaphor here but I think this scene is beneficial to the story and was more about making the characters feel human rather than evoking needlessly crude sexual desire. Sure there are some obvious examples of meaningless fan service we can point to in these first two episodes, but that doesn't mean the show can't still say something interesting about the human condition and the natural urge to fill one's 'emptiness' with another living, feeling, experiencing partner. I was pleasantly surprised with this fight scene at the end of the episode. Full of action and energy! I haven't seen anything else by Pine Jam studios but this final fight was almost Nakamura-esqe, specifically how the artist did the motion lines on impact frames. |

Anime industry, you are horny again. Overall great episode and for now it would be easy 8/10 for anime if not uncomfortable fanservice and unnecessary fanservice. Why no one had an idea to make them older like Shuuichi about 20yr old and Kurea at least 18yr old? and those pantsu shots were really necessary? I like how toxic MCs relationship is and I hope it will not be fixed (if at all) easy or by "power of love". |

Okay.. Fookin' awesome ! That fight turned into something so oddly satisfying. I loved every second of it. Clair is just crazy good. I love all the craziness everywhere crazy!!!! In general this episode was just so entertaining. We've got a few flashbacks. And that ending scene was also interesting. Someone Shuichi knows? The OP and ED already got me hooked as well. I've never seen an anime like this before but I'm glad I have the chance to experience it while it's airing. That sure must've felt good, ripped her in pieces |

Okay so the over use of Panty shots and extremely sexual dialogue are definitely over the top.. they need to chill out on it or I'm just gonna get annoyed to a point of frustration.. Other than that this episode was awesome! Beautifully brutal and edgy with enough mystery and excitement to keep me coming back for more.. Also.. wow the animation was pretty damn good too All in all.. much better episode but I'm glad this wasn't first episode.. we needed a slow draw into it |

An honest opinion from a manga reader. The adaptation is good so far. It is just lacking of thrilling bgm for the action. That fight should be better if the bgm is also great. Storywise, this is not the best, but i can't say its worthless. I still recommend you to finish the anime series, it'll atleast cover the somewhat "best" action scene of the series for me. Honestly, I dont like the main characters, Shuichi and even Clair, i just cant think of them as a good character, Shuichi is so skeptic about anything he'll do, and whatever Clair does would seem like she has an ulterior motive. But disliking the MCs does not reflect on how i see Gleipnir. But i guess i can say i like the concept of him, being a "mascot?" and someone will enter inside him and will be together as one. This is new for me, so I happily indulged it. if I would compare Gleipnir to Darwin's Game, i will pick the latter. (atleast in terms of the character and the level of enjoyment) |

Mystic_Writer said: You know, while I see people complain about the fanservice at the end of the day this anime does have the 'Ecchi' tag on it. Sharing the tag with many more sexualized shows like High School DxD and Food Wars, I kinda feel people who watch this show should expect for ecchi to be in it. This can't be stated enough. It's like complaining about space ships being in a Sci-Fi. When you call these fools out half of them get all bent out of shape about it. It's as if somehow everything is supposed to revolve around what they want. |

Much more enjoyable episode compare to the first one, the best part was Aoki is starting to convert a more genuine character instead of being a sex object. |

I liked the episode but I really feel bad for Shuishi getting used like that. Also he's getting ripped-off, accepting Claire's offer: their opponent was looking for two things he has none of. Those two things are medals and info about them. Alone, he's not really at any risk, unlike Claire who owns a medal and is actively looking for someone. I guess he just wants to protect her, but that's starting to look a lot like Stockholm's syndrome Also why did they just skip a whole week like that, not commenting on how the disappearance of a student affected the school? It sounds like there wasn't even an investigation... |

i dont know, i keep going back to the first episode when she pushed him from the roof and i think for some reason story went in a wrong direction there, i dont understand, i cant treat all that happens now as reality. he should have buried her in the forest and move on with calm life |

Do, dude turns into bio-mecha or something. That's interesting. That was quite unexpected to see that girl being killed off so early. Usually when we get to see character's backstory with flashbacks and stuff, they are recurring characters or even join the team. |

why is the rating so low? I'm loving this series so far! People always expect the MC to be a badass from the get-go like wth... the guy was normal until one day he changed (OUT OF NOWHERE!) into a freaking creepy teddybear (or whatever that is lol) I would be scared too. Claire is completely insane and probably a sociopath but her backstory sounds interesting... and that twist at the end 10/10. Our little man had an insane stalker probably! |

OH MY GOD. O_O It's been a very long time since an anime show has legitimately shocked me so early in its run, and this was one of those times. I was screaming through this entire episode because it was so intense and so disturbing. This show is horrifying to watch, because the animation of all the horrible things happening are so pristine. You can feel every single punch, kick, and bone crack. And watching the main character dissociate while Clair tormented him was absolutely horrifying. All of these things should be negative emotions because they're horrifying, and yet I can't look away. When a show can make you feel this many feelings this intensely, it's doing something major right. I'm captivated. Horrified but captivated. Bravo! |
