| The part when everyone was bowing in front of Akadama-sensei then Yasaburou comes in and solves the problem like a boss :D And finally we get to see Kaisei. I cant wait to see the next episode!! |

| Hmm. When their father met Benten as Yasaburo said Benten was just a girl following around a Tengu. So i doubt fear was the reason he couldn't keep his transformation. Besides their father was presented as someone brave. i doubt he will have let his fear get the better of him. So thinking of that i am contemplating the possibility that their father was actually attracted to Benten. He felt so awkward with her around because of his attraction to her that he couldn't even keep his transformation. It's the same thing we see with young boys running away from girls they like cause they don't know how to face them. If that scenario hold true it also makes sense of him not wanting to visit his friend because of her since he had a wife etc he wanted to stay loyal to and felt bad about such feelings. In the end it could explain why he let Benten eat him too. Remember all the "i eat them because i love them and i would like to be eaten by them" speach the professor made about Tanuki? What if their father loved Benten so much that decided he wanted to be eaten by her and since he couldn't be in an erotic relationship with her maybe that the only way he could be one with her? If Kaisei knows as much then it's obvious why she dislikes Benten considering she must have had a special bond with her uncle that is responsible for her name. Also considering she might like Yasaburo and she sees that he has a similar attraction to Benten it could very well make her scared of his fate, not to mention she also lost her marriage arrangement with one she liked because Benten ate her uncle. Even if Yasaburo isn't the one she likes but his brother is then she still has a reason to hate her considering he locked himself in a well because Benten ate his father and made him feel guilty. Of course all this are just my idiot theories and it kind of leaves an empty spot into Yajiru's request of his father about and his love for Kaisei but we will see. embolon said: ElenirLachlagos said: Finally we get to see Kaisei. Benten with her mysterious and dangerous aura, beautiful voice and attractive appearance makes a nice representation of femme fatale, she's like a siren, the kind of woman that you know is trouble and deadly but you just can't resist. |

| 4/5 Plot which raises questions and reveals some of the mysteries, I too am disappointed by the appearance of Kaisei, in a sense. Narration nice, somewhat ambiguous and strange! Wow that Baumkuchen! O_O I have a bad feeling about the 'election of the master imitator, not wanting to remove Yaichirou of the way, forcing it into the pot? Heck, I'd like to know a lot more about the background involving the protagonists, starting from Benten, and ending with Kaisei. |

| Hey now we're going places with the plot. The episode even opens briefly explaining why the Shimogamos and Ebisugawas have different names. Which I had been scratching my head over. As was expected the Nise-mon elections are now taking center stage. In this episode after a brief confrontation with the Ebisugawa brats, we see the preliminary proceedings for the election. It seems the tengu who normally oversees the event has declined this year. So the tanuki must seek out a substitute. This was a cool little scene. We've heard a lot, but seen very little about the tanuki high culture. And it felt necessary to explain it to us and show us a little before the election actually begins. The episode's second half contains two surprisingly powerful scenes. With characters who can't be said to be minor but are definitely supporting. First I really liked the scene with Yasaburo and Akadama-sensei. There's always a unique energy to his scenes that makes me happy. His tsundere nature always gives me a laugh too considering his appearance. Yasaburo's pep talk about tengu pride was really sweet and drove the whole thing home. There's something I particularly like about their relationship. How he pretends to hate Yasaburo, but secretly likes him the best. And how Yasaburo formally acts as his student, but behaves more like his care taker. Good stuff. The bath scene at the end was pretty intriguing. I'd guessed Kaisei was who we'd been catching glimpses of throughout the episode. But we finally saw her human form. Even though Yasaburo still hasn't. Their discussion was a very clever back and forth. I found Kaisei accusing Yasaburo of being like a tengu very interesting indeed.I liked their butting heads over insulting her brothers. And how Yasaburo sulked when she got hard on him over it. It was all a very engaging back and forth. But the big take away from the scene is the very end. After warning Yasaburo her brothers have some crazy plan in the works, she apologizes. And then vanishes. I find it interesting what the apology could mean. On the surface it seems like she's apologizing for what her brothers are up to. Or maybe that she's actually a part of her brothers plan. Maybe she's leaving for good now. Or maybe she's apologizing over her baggage that prevents her from showing her face. Whatever it means it has to be somewhat significant. As the episode ends with Yasaburo concerned over it. |

| Kaisei is a cutie, and definitely the best member of the Ebisugawa family. I'm worried about what the brothers are up to, though... |

| This show made me realize I would love to transform / shapeshift. Seems like fun. On another note, Kaisei finally appeared and it was weirdly satisfying. I can put a face onto her character now rather than just imagining she exists. |

| Whenever I return to this series I end up engrossed by the dialogue and storytelling, totally love it. Kaisei's warning, tho, I don't like where this is going. |
