So another Granbelm cycle begins....

Anna got a power-up because the show decided to make her a legit threat in that fight. Still the usual stuff although the battle this episode felt more thrilling than some of the others. Too bad for Anna.

They've already said you don't die in GRANBELM, only lose the right to fight.

Heck the first girl to get eliminated (short haired girl Anna kicked out) was shown being disintegrated, and Nene was blown up. So if Anna dies, it won't be because of what Ernesta did....and I think Ernesta knows that, since the entire reason she was fighting was to save Anna, killing her would have been counterproductive.

This episode mark the end of Anna and her ERNESTA screaming .
The fight between Shingetsu and Anna kept me captivated till the end plus the animation and OST were really good in my opinion , that was probably one of the best episode of the anime atm.
I feel like the next episode will be more chill compared to the others , let's see where this is going.

A battle that had to happen and had to end for once, and I liked the closure. It seems Shingetsu never wanted to be strong in the first place, she knows what it means to have power and being envied and hated for it, she probably didn't want Anna to feel that way, so she decided to bear with that burden.

Hopefully this episode marks the end of Anna vs Ernesta, I wonder what else is about to come next? There's still Kuon's sister's Curse that is related to that other girl that abandoned Anna.

I'm still thinking the final fight won't be between the combatants, but them against something else. Probably the Magiacontus to ensure that GRANBELM never has to be fought again.
It will probably be Ernesta and Mangetsu, the subtitle of the show is The Two Princeps after all.

This is one of the best episodes of the anime so far I am happy that the fight between Ernesta & Anna is over I wonder what will happen between them now I hope that they make up but that may not happy unfortunately but if they do it maybe because of Anna's sister I still do not know how many episodes this anime is going to be but I hope something like that happens before the anime is over

Honestly, the anime would've been a lot better if Anna was an actual character instead of some crazy psychopath. I appreciate how her drama is used to illustrate one of the many cruelties of this show's magic system as well as shed more light on Mangetsu's motivation, but I just find her behaviour extremely off-putting. I wish she was written to be a bit more sympathetic.

At least she's finally out of the picture.

Ah, this episode really improved on its quality, I had the honest feeling that the fights were epic : they were on the paper, now they were on screen. Really liked it, even if Anna bothered me like hell, I can only say she had something, her presence in the show does not pass silently (especially because she only shouted from the first episode to this one).

And yeah, I fucking wanted to be isekai'ed to slap her, she really annoyed me. Though I found interesting she turned really evil, this was way better than a simple 'you were right, I'm sorry, I'm gonna change and be a good person'. Now I can only smile while thinking she got defeated lul

This show has exceeded my expectations once again with those awesome fight scenes and powerful ost. Too bad there is not much here besides that, the story is not great and characters are all forgettable.

Anna did nothing wrong.

That was one chaotic battle. I enjoyed how sometimes I wasn't sure what exactly was going on during it, which sounds weird. A great episode, her screaming DOPAMINE, ADRENALINE, etc. was the icing on the cake, along with her crackling voice. It really sounded like she was in pain.

Not a huge fan of Maria from Symphogear but this voice actor is so talented when it comes to screaming. Anna really gave the impression of a very very VERY VERY angry person. Especially when you could hear her voice breaking up as she started losing more blood. Really talented.

Also literal every time I saw Anna smile innocently I just knew she was faking it. There's no way an insane person suddenly became sane because of a few nice words from someone which is what I like about Anna she's consistent unlike a lot of battle anime villains. Symphogear suffers from that problem sadly.

They were really good friends when they were kids. It was Anna who found a magic stone for Ernesta. Sad to see it end this way.

That was a deliciously violent fight. The way Viola Katze tore Aconite Gris apart was badass!!

Nene-chan was a pig all along.. laughed when Mangetsu got surprised the pig figurine talked. :p

It feels like Shingetsu defeated an equivalent of two people this episode. Because Anna has her full hp restored after using the big magic stone.

The only reason this anime is worth it is the quality of animation in the fights. Beyond that the anime is very flat, generic and dense.

The characters don't stand out for anything in particular, even so the design of them pleases me. The originality in the motivations that makes them fight shines by its absence and the personality of each one is disgusting, each and every one of them are disgusting. The only one who always fought with conviction was Anna, the others are insipid.

This chapter could have been approached in a more organized way, but no, everything was excessively fast and crazy. I liked the ending very much and generally the soundtrack is quite good.

This is up there in one of my favorite episodes of anime ever.

I just wish there was more at stake in their fights. It just falls flat for me because all they lose when the get eliminated is their chance to participate in the tournament.

Mangetsu's sis sure is cure with how innocent she is. Given how weakened Anna had become its perhaps no surprise that someone would target the family stone. But for Anna guess resentment and revenge is all she really wants. The fact that she was able to get a second transformation though was quite the surprise. Her second form really was quite powerful and did well to force Shingetsu to use full force as well. Its too bad that Shingetsu's heartfelt words did not get through to Anna though. The final battle though slightly one sided sure ended with a satisfying victory for Shingetsu though a really close one. Overall a solid action focused ep that showed just how much resentment Anna had towards Shingetsu and the depths to which she will go to attain revenge. The battle between the two while intense sure featured some impressive twists in the tactics used that proved to be fitting for Anna's defeat.

the story and the characters relationships are intresting, but the fights with the worst robots in the history of anime really suck. it would have been a lot better if they had left the badly drawn mecha behind and just went along with some good old magic fights.
I though darling in the franxx robots were horrible until I saw these pieces of shit.
it really looks like this anime was only made to sell those robots that look like cheap toys.

Over the top violence and everything i already said a million times,,And girl are sad wants to be special to so therefor murder mother and try to kill friend ,,Cute!!

The biggest thorn in my side Anna seems to be gone!!Huge plus for that! She was the one standing in my way to enjoy this anime

... There were a lot of other redeeming factors,, it was kind of cute in the beginning of the episode ,,,Honey you could have bite here earn nips instead =P ,The preview on the next episode have given me a lot of hope I should be happy over naked girl waking up next to other girl,,, But I dont trust you completely with nice things yet,,,For next episode prove to me that you have improved yourself ,,Remember Lesbians are the most precious of all!!! I love my girls and i need them!!!!

You have 2/10 you now have 5/10

Finally your stupid ass seems to get it,,They are girls and they have tongues,, its not hard to figure out what they are suppose to do with them , Dont you dare disappoint me!!!,Very good episode ,,And im so glad we are back on the right track again!!! I crave for that lesbian kiss!! I want it and you will give it to me!!!

Not only ,, Anna was the biggest problem for me and now its seem as she is gone,,And for the first time for a while i looking forwards for the next episode ,, Now i grave it i really wanna see!!!!!

But you never know Anna might be back and they might pull away in the last second and it will be no kiss!!! And then i might take away the points =P if the anime was out i watch the next episode right away ,, So right now its a guessing game!!

And judge it on what i feel right now,, I enjoy it and looking forward to next week and therefore i think it deserves some points,,For now =P Look at their tongues they are on the move they want that kiss!! I fucking crave it so hard,,YES!!!! I believe in it =P

But the end itself will be the most important factor and my feelings towards the anime when its over,,But now i see lesbian kissing ,,YEES!!!!!!

Anna's fight against Shingetsu was very intense from start to finish. I was s little surprised to see Shingetsu finish Anna off so quickly at first, but Anna had a second transformation that only made their battle even more intense and brutal.

All Mangetsu could do was watch helplessly, as well as Hakamada keeping an eye on her after defeating Kuon too easily. Although I had to laugh at Mangetsu's reaction to hearing Nene's voice coming from the pig usb in her mecha. XD

Anyway, the main battle drew to a dramatic finish when Shingetsu appeared to have won and offered her hand out to Anna, but she only fell for her trap of sweet talk as Anna staged a late comeback of brutality that was a little hard to watch.

However, Shingetsu made the final move of the fight that was able to finally finish off Anna as she was charging up her last attack, and thus, eliminating Anna from Granbelm altogether.

Great episode, this was. Solid fighting animation, excellent use of the soundtrack and Anna's VA was really good overall with her rollercoaster of emotions and screaming. Anyway, with Anna out of the picture, Hakamada is the one to be careful of now. Someone needs to knock that bitch off her perch already....

Pretty emotional at the end, it really makes me feel very sorry for Anna, she is such a pitiful character, perhaps she has a superiority complex and that really twisted her. Too bad for Shingetsu to lose a childhood friend like that

A new Granbelm begins and the fierce battle between Shingetsu and Anna reaches its bitter end, as both girls are forced to test their limits of their powers in an all-out battle for supremacy. It's very sad to see Anna get broken down, especially when her loved ones beg her to move on with her life. Unfortunately, even with Anna out of the Granbelm, that doesn't mean the problems are over for our heroines, as Kuon is no closer to figuring out who placed her sister in a coma than she was at the beginning. Did Suishou really do it or that's just something to throw viewers? We might get our answers soon enough. Either way, it's good to see this show finally kick into high gear and, hopefully, next week will deliver another amazing episode!

This episode is all about defeating the screaming bitch that is Miss Ressentiment Anna, she's super ignorantly stubborn to even think one hair strand that she could defeat Shingetsu even with heirloom power. Nevertheless, the die has been cast, with the new Granbelm approaching.

I really feel bad for the younger sister Clare, that she has to deal with the family issues of Anna and Shingetsu, literally the innocent party.

Let the next Granbelm begin, the Magiaconatus environment adapting to Anna's insanity of power. The others are scuffled on the sidelines (Mangetsu, Suishou, Kuon) to fight their own battle.

The magnitude of Anna and Shingetsu's battle is second to none, hitting their ultimate strengths to the breaking point.

@RedChrome a perfect analogy for the pitiful Anna, too bad it's was missing participation rights instead of literally losing even bigger consequences.

Hands-down to Jukki Hanada for being the episodic director of this episode, this was an amazing, yet phenomenal episode in the making, had me gripping from start to finish. Marvelous job, hands-down (also) the best episode yet to clear one obstacle and rival other players in view.

Well, Anna has fully cemented herself as my least favorite character in the show. What a bitch. At she has a pretty cool power, and her voice actor is literally a god at delivering lines...other than that, I feel like the art quality has somehow been improved since the beginning episodes. Good god, this episode is intense. Although Shingetsu has repeatedly said that Anna can't beat her and it initially seems the case, Anna just kept on pulling out newer and more powerful moves, and in the end I was on the edge of my seat wondering if she will actually emerge victorious!

Best episode of the season, damn... waifu war has turned into feelings war

So, what's happening? If Ernesta was chosen by the goddesses to have such magical power it really makes it look as she is the chosen one to inherit the power of this tournament. However, nobody knows why a non-Mage descendant has entered the tournament. It is suggested she might be "a new mage family". Considering that dark and light seem to be recurrent topics of the show I'm assuming this are hints for whatever unveils between Ernesta and Mangetsu?

We also see that the ying-yang alike symbol at the end of the opening is related to Kuon's sister (brother? whatever) being cursed.

And lots of hints indicating that Suishou will yandere the heck out of herself soon.

Shoot, that was some battle between Anna & Ernesta! Anna, even with the boost and the regeneration midway, was at the mercy of Ernesta, now that’s to recover from but it had to be done and I’m glad that we’re finally through with this phase. Ernesta’s indecisiveness to wrap this up quickly is partially responsible for Anna’s current deranged state but I suppose many would be reluctant too in that kind of situation. Good that last episode’s cliffhanger was something else though, but sadly it didn’t help to improve Anna’s impressions to be frankly honest. Mad Credit to the VA though and the Soundtrack during the fight was really immersive, dang! Great to see the Animation with a few notches up too, hopefully we’ll see such a treatment often. And a Fantastic ED to sign things off with, easily the best episode of the show so far!

On the other hand, lol @ Mangetsu’s reaction to the pig figurine, she can really be clueless in the most absurd of moments and I find that to be incredibly hilarious! Meanwhile, it seems as though Nene is slowly opening up to Mangetsu’s family so that’s a lucky handicap to have I suppose.

Anyway, looks like we’ll be seeing more of the blue-haired girl next episode and whoo-hoo that was quite the Yuri tease in the end there.

Amazing episode! Great animation and soundtrack, what an epic battle. Finally! Anna was eliminated from Granbelm, it was about time. That damn deranged, I had to pay. Although I must admit that in the end, I felt sorry for the friendship that Ernesta and Anna had when they were little. As a beautiful friendship he could reach this point where only revenge mattered. It was a really sad scene, and even more so with that background song.
Well, let's see what happens. This has been one of the best episodes of this anime.

Damn! Anna's seiyuu is incredible! She needs to win some kind of award at the end of this year. Imagine trying to dub this episode. I certainly don't envy Anna's English VA - well, if it even gets dubbed.

Couldn't help but feel a little bad for her in the end. A severe inferiority complex that spiraled out of control into sheer insanity. She was a sweet girl in the past, and that flashback scene near the end was the start of her undoing. A well-written and well-directed episode.

Pretty good episode again. Ernesta x Anna fight was great. As I watched the episode, I saw the potential the show could've had. It's been cool from the last episode and all that, but couldn't they mention the Spirit thing and the properties of magic and whatever *before*? So we can understand it better and get hyped in the time of a fight...

So many plot holes, so little time.
"Using great power also has equal backlash"
>MC literally asspulled a giant dark sword/aura out of nowhere like it was nothing and she didnt suffer shit.

Speaking of asspulls, what the fuck was that fight. Anna had every reason to win on her side and the writers just fucking blocked everything because >that's not how it's supposed to go lol. The main characters are plain, boring, uninspired and seem like they have no reason to be in the fights in the first place. Anna, as one-dimensional as she was, was at least a sympathetic character that anyone with a brain can understand. I mean, hell, her entire life she was lied to only for then the same person who lied to her the entire time slaps her with the truth and then gives a soppy speech while taking the moral highground.

This is just a bit of it but i cant be assed to write down more of the shit i have to pick with this anime. It's really frustrating to watch and it feels like it's following a mahou shoujo progression template of who wins and who loses.
