That's a lot of art and design staff. They look pretty new, so I hope they do well.

The sound director though...That guy's done a ton...and he did the sound direction for Sidonia no Kishi. Let's see if his sound directing can work in sync with the animation.

can mahou shoujo ever be taken seriously after madoka magica? it feels like every other work that doesn't seem to have the potential to be outstanding is largely ignored by the community, including me!

I don't watch as much anime as before...

Is this another edgelord mahou-shoujo, like Mahou Shoujo Site, Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou, and Ikusei Keikaku/Raising Project?

Of those, only Yuuki Yuna was decent.

Madoka truly ruined the genre...

(F2P thug life of savings...)

Ben-to! best nonsensical action anime. Ever.

I hope I am not the only one who wants the lighthearted magical girl animes back. When I say that I don't mean extremely predictable ones like Ai Tenshi Densetsu Wedding Peach which I dropped after 14 episodes. I mean magical girl animes that don't focus on torture porn for the sake of being kewl and edgy. I don't mind dark magical girl shows but I want the end of pretentiously edgy magical girl shows. Also PMMM did not ruin the genre. The creators of the dark magical girl animes failed to frasp what really made PMMM popular. PMMM was successful not because it is merely dark but because of the way the dark themes were executed with good pacing, foreshadowing, deep symbolism and amazing worldbuilding. Darkness is not the same as deep. Darkness can be just as superficial as lightheartedness if not explored deeply.

By the way I am really glad people are at least giving Yuuki Yuuna Is A Hero some credit. That is the only dark magical girl show that is more like a typical magical girl show and I really liked it. It didn't remind me of PMMM the first time I watched it until some reviewers started calling it a PMMM ripoff. The only mistake that show had was unnecessary fanservice but that's it. Hell I got attached to the Yuuki Yuuna Is A Hero characters almost as much as I am attached to the PMMM characters.

Wowzers, thats not an anime I see mentioned often! I loved Rem, too bad we didn’t get to see more of this adorable yet disturbing show.

Unlike others I actually enjoyed Magical Girl Site since it didn’t take itself too seriously and had a kind of dark sense of humor to it.

Also: Nanoha > Madoka anyday.
