Reports announced on Tuesday that seiyuu Kouji Tsujitani died last Wednesday October 17 from cerebral infarction. He was 53 years old. The funeral was held among family including his seiyuu wife Kumiko Watanabe and close friends this past weekend.

Born Yasufumi Tsujitani, he entered Gekidan Toei in 1983. He voiced Miroku from the Inuyasha series, Itsuki from Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho, Takumi Fujii from the 3x3 Eyes series, Bernard Wiseman from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, Seabook Arno from Mobile Suit Gundam F91, Justy Ueki Tylor from the Musekinin Kanchou Tylor series, and more. His recent role was Nagamasa Azai from the Sengoku Basara series, and its spin-off series Gakuen Basara is currently airing.

Tsujitani also dubbed foreign works such as Jacques Mayol from Le Grand Bleu and provided narration for Super Soccer. He was also a sound director since 2013 and worked on the Gurazeni series and the Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu TV series, to name a few.

Tsujitani's latest activity was a live event commemorating the recently established mysterious unit Fumihiko Tachiki & BLUSEED, which was held on October 14.

At a mere 53, he was taken too soon from us. Requiescat in pace.

Commiseration towards his widow Kumiko Watanabe, whom has quite an extensive repertoire.

I already knew of this yesterday, but it's still very sad. He will always be Solomon from Blood+ to me. Very heartbreaking he died so suddenly, especially when he was voicing the father of the main character in Kokkoku at the beginning of the year.

May his soul rest in peace.

This is so tragic... he was only 53. :(
May he be at peace, God bless his loved ones.
We lost one of the best voice actors, but they lost a father/husband/friend.

Miroku and Tylor are such emblematic roles, it's a shame he had to die so young.

May he rest in peace.

What dimension am I living in?! Where Tsujitani Koji dies? And I'm actually upset because it's such a harsh reality where a stroke can suddenly take someone. I'm still upset!

Thanks Buddha.

Goofs like Miroku and Tylor, BL characters, pieces of crap (Dewey! Maybe not the movie), handsome men of different kinds, and...KINCAID NAU! Also a teacher and a director.

Tsujitani never worked as a teacher, he just worked as a sound director.

I may have to double check but I think he was a seiyu tutor/teacher as well? because he was a sound director, he had to interact with casting.
