What a delicious episode.

I know this series plays around a lot with its character interactions but having an episode like this also felt refreshing. The comedy is still on fire as usual. Yum. This is a cooking show now

oh well this has to be the single most boring episode ever for me from this show. didn't found any single moment to be fun damn. even the narrator didn't sounded any sort of energetic as usual on this episode. Really hoping Tonegawa strikes back on next episode orelse this show is getting too bumpy ride at this rate.

This was really boring. Ootsuki just wasn't a captivating character in the original Kaiji as let's be honest. How many people really were interested in Ootsuki in that original arc?

The comedy here was way too plain and it did not work at all for me. Didn't help that this episode dragged on, and on and on.

Not a fan of this episode, this was bad.

Well, I also prefer Tonegawa but I really liked the "diabolical" Ootsuki drinking in front of those businessmen.
Wow, that chef remembered him.

I'm a bit confused. I read that the Ootsuki spinoff would start airing today and that Tonegawa would be replaced by it while getting a different timeslot, but why does it not have his own entry then ?

I am confused. Is Ootsuki its own show that took over the Tonegawa time slot and Tonegawa will air on another day, or is it just one off special episodes?

I don’t like this Ootsuki guy, he was such a hater in Kaiji S2.

I liked the new Ending. A lot of people seemed to dislike this episode, I think it was alright, Ootsuki was an Ass in Kaiji 2, and here is also an ass here xD

ahhh Otsuki with his diabolical drinking in front of those office men. I rather thought that this episode was pretty good not gonna lie. I would have never thought that the chef still remembered him after 25 years ordering the same crab fried rice xD. Those fried rice looked so damn good.

There was a 'pending' entry for the new spinoff, but then it disappeared. :(

Don't tell me the we gonna have this bastard for a while? The only reason I enjoyed it was because of Brooks voice I always imagined him with his skeleton body instead of this konoyaro.

Where is Tonegawa? It seemed like Ootsuki is going to get more than one episode, I hope he won't replace him

The ending already teased new characters in Tonegawa, so I'm going to assume that we will occasionally see Otsuki episodes and the other times Tonegawa ones. Kinda dumb, but it is what it is.

Yeah, I prefer Tonegawa as well. This episode didn't interest me all that much but that chef was a true hero.

WEI BA!

I didn't expect the Ootsuki spin-off to replace Tonegawa, I thought it might air alongside it. But this is fine, too. I liked the subtle Akagi reference with the transparent mahjong tiles, and the reference to the season 1 ED song. I love that the episode ended with a Yelp review, this series is just too damn real with its comedy. The new ED is pretty good, too.

So we didn't get to see any Kaiji or Tonegawa for that matter... I hope it won't be only Ootsuki from now on. Nonetheless, a solid episode! Still liking the series.

I must admit I did enjoy this episode. Even if lack of Tonegawa is certainly sad, I really like the guy. But Ootsuki trolling poor salarimen was fun. And the last segment with the restaurant was touching. But I sure hope they don't plan to completely replace Tonegawa with him, since that would make show a lot less enjoyable overall.

I've seen this listed as its own anime entry on some sites and as a second cour of this show on others. Seems a bit confused atm

In any case, I'll just +1 that this seems less interesting than the Tonegawa series

I like the direction the series is taking.

I like Ootsuki already he is far more interesting than Tonegawa, sometimes Tonegawa makes me sleepy. In the Kaiji series he is one shrewd despicable bastard, I hate him there same as Tonegawa.

This is the first time I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Thought this was a really fun episode. Looking forward to the Ootsuki now. He's seems to be a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. Especially loved when the cook brought out the kani chyaahan.

Never. In fact, around episode 6 or so I did some research on the band, Gesu no Kiwami Otome, and ended up buying their first two albums which I love too.

By far the worse episode of this spinoff, Ootsuki is a good villain but a mediocre "MC"

Haven't watch the original Kaiji yet, I don't even really know who Otsuki is but, God! This anime is super addictive that I can't help but hype for waiting new ep every week until this very ep, never disappointed.
Can't even think someone could hate this thing.

Also, reallyyyy love the new ED

One of my favourite episodes so far, a perfectly executed little slice of life that reminded me of a middle aged (minus female company) version of Today's Menu for the Emiyas. When he ordered a Draught Beer and the voices whispered 'Draught, Draught' instead of the usual 'Zawa' it cracked me up. The narrator cranks the comedy factor up a notch or two with his unique 'delivery'. This series is genius.

I'm surprised there are people that found Ootsuki more entertaining than Tonegawa. I guess some backstory for him was nice but the episode was rather boring for me. He isn't as smart as Tonegawa and he also doesn't have to deal with Hyodo. Also I don't remember the series name being called Ootsuki.
