| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The new opening is just kickass, with a lot of focus on accelerator against a certain someone. The episode started with a small flashback of the things that so far happened in the series. But really i dig the opening. So far it seems, that the anime breezes through the material of the books. A certain amount of chapters were adapted so far |

| Wow, it's been so long.... Anyways, we got a brief recap of Touma's narrating from events of the second season. New OP song is nice, there's actually quite an impressive number of characters in it that's shown including some battles involving . Index herself is back too of course with Touma and I feel like their chemistry is still fun to watch even after all this time. Misaka and her friends are back too! This felt more like an introductory episode that gets the audience to regain the feeling of the Index franchise. And I'd say, it's working rather well. |

| OP is fire as hell. I think Index and Jojo are gonna have the best OP for this season. Lol Mikoto fillers. Also did IB just get a new SFX ? Overall I'm quite satisfied, better than initial expectation (which was kinda...low after hearing the 26 episode news) |

| Well it's been 4/5 years? And for now it seems it was worth the wait. Touma still hasn't learned to nok before entering a room and he still blaims everything on misfortune the girls are still as aggressive as ever and there still lot's of ecchi events. I guess this is going to be great. Misaki needs to learn that hitting vending machines won't solve the problem. Anyway it was a nice episode tho it's building up as usual i would not expect anything else from this series. |

| I’m assuming the subs will be out in about an hour from now. Kind of hyped for it, even though I’m not too big a fan of the Majutsu Index part. Edit: Finally got around to watching the episode. Well, it’s been a while since I have watched anything from this franchise and this episode just showcased why exactly this franchise deserves a Season 3! Nice introductory episode and a great summary from Kamijou Touma’s point of view of the previous two Seasons! It really helped to rewind a few of the scenes in my mind and that was great! Op was nice starring a lot of new characters. It seems as though J.C. Staff is really planning to squeeze all the remaining 9 novels into these 26 episodes, can’t say I’m too excited for this considering how shallow Season 2 was. ED was fine too, but I think they should’ve done it with better visuals, but I don’t mind it too much. Index making her return with the “Ofuru, Ofuru” really felt nostalgic and her usual annoyance is just picture perfect compared to the previous seasons. Biribiri remains the tsundere-y type throughout and that’s really satisfying to see xD, and it’s also pleasing to see Kuroko and Uihara get a bit of the screen time! Tsuchimikado unveiled both of his sides in his episode, firstly with the perverted normal classmate and then in the end as a major character of the Science World. Him, shooting that old lady though was shocking, boy I was so perplexed by that in that instant, but it all seems to be part of plan. I was wondering why they’d shown the old lady’s daughter in a shot, and now I know for sure *facepalm*. All in all, a pretty good and nice first episode of the much anticipated 3rd Season. Looks like Touma and Tsuchimikado are off to France now, looking forward to seeing Itsuwa now(more so thanks to the Op) and how the turmoil between the Science and the Magic fractions intensifies! Also, I hope this Season won’t be rushed and directed brilliantly but again 9 novels in 26 episodes just calls for it, dang it! |

| Well it's back! And that was quite promising! New OP is great, to see all the new characters and tease for lots of fights. New light for the first time animated, Lessar, Baylope, Floris and Ransis! Also like the ending song, beatiful. Interesting to see Itsuwa on the crossing segment in the end of OP. Index singing "Ofuro, Ofuro" felt so nostalgic. Didn't remember the part Index meeting witi Oyafune Monaka, well it's been so long, still need to reread all the stuff. Mikoto had quite a lot of appearance, i'm happy =/ Well that's probably it for a while. Still quite sad that it is 26 episodes and for now quite hard to believe that J.C. can cramp up all the stuff, but pretty good start. I think animation has improved a bit, but still Railgun S animation was way higher level. Waiting for subbed version to watch again. |

| at last!!!!!!! fucking 7 years since season 2!!! and we start right in amazing arc, and by the looks of the trailer it's we will have also loved how the opening focuses in accelerator and touma rather than just one, just wished they also included more of so, i think is safe to asume that with this pacing we will finish old testament? GOD, waited so long, i love to have this back |

| I have been waiting for this since 2013, getting disappointed year and year, and finally, is here. The third season of Toaru Majutsu no Index... I have multiple feelings running through my body right now, and I am so happy I can forgive the CGI background characters (didn't like much the new Imagine Breaker sound, however, but it will be a matter of getting used to it). Seeing again all the characters after all that time... fills me with joy. My boi Touman also can't get one episode without being involved in other affairs. That bad luck is still stronk (the "fukou da" almost gave me a boner). Though this was going to be a episode to reintroduce all the characters and that (and it kinda was), then Tsuchimikado shoot the old lady and the new plot starts. I almost forgot what kind of person Tsuchimikado truly is. Also, it wouldn't be Touman without a good old fashioned punch, and Tsuchimikado becomes the first of the (hopefully long) list of this season to have thir shit wrecked by the Touman. Hope many more will come after him. Tbh, it wasn't as rushed as I expected, so I'm kinda glad of that. Let's hope the pacing doesn't becomes too messy, please, JC Staff, I trust in you. New OP was lit (still miss Mami kawada, tho), ED has a good song, but could have had better visuals. |

| The first episode was ok, we could see almost all the characters which is pretty good, I think the animation could be better tho. Anyway I expected a lot more hype for this season, I suppose that is due to the time that has passed since index ii, I just hope that people have not lost all interest in the series xd |

Seems next episode they are gona focus Itsuwa, i am wondering what happening between Touma and Itsuwa in opening, because they are together and really close of each other! Fansubs take way more time than just a day, someone will probably pick it up but it will take time, probably 2-7 days delays. And with this first episode, I expect fansubbers will wait if the simulcast won't happen for sure and then start subbing |

They still only subbed 2 episodes of a show they picked up during spring, don't know if they dropped it or are still going with it, but they picked up two shows for this season so... I'm not sure if we would get a steady schedule if it will stay as fansubs only, which as you said will hurt the popularity of the season quite a lot. |

It is a rushed season, Kadokawa released this in order to distract from the Kemono friend commotion. As for September 30th. It is the day Vento invaded Academy City in order to kill Touma, which was stopped by Aleister releasing Fuze=Kazikiri. This resulted in RCC declaring war on Academy City on their Blasphemous action against god, while Academy City want to use this excuse as well in order to start a war to rule the world. Basically, after the small conflicts between RCC and AC in season 1 and 2, the two side decided they had enough pretending, and declared war on each other. Other plots include: -Last Order getting injected with the ANGEL virus to activate Fuze=Kazikiri, which never got fully removed. -Accelerator getting telesma black wings due to activation of Fuze=Kazikiri. -Aleister lost his friend Heaven Canceller (Frog-faced doctor, co-founder of AC) after he had enough of AC's cruelty and left the "plan" -Vento getting defeated due to Fuze=Kazikiri and Touma. -Touma's declared priority target of God's Right Seat, with his execution form signed by the Pope. -Accelerator forced to join Academy City's Black Ops, due to being threatened on account of his and Last Order's safety. |

| I like the fact that we get a refreshing of what was happened from the past two seasons, because let's be real, it's been a long wait. Ofc the usual gags with Touma are still there for the entertainment. I really like seeing Misaka and Kuroko back, but I'm still waiting for Accelerator. |

| it's been so damn long so these sub related issues have been the biggest slap in the face still this opened up in the most classic index way Touma really has bad luck op has shown a ton of old and new characters so this 2 cour is gonna be packed full lol i'm excited even if i can't remember everything feel like i should get a refresher on some stuff from season 1 again |

| Opening was awesome, show had that introductory vibe since its been 7 years since season 2 aired, so I didn't have any issues with the pacing this time. But damn, I did not miss that cringey humor this series loves to bring with Index. She was as annoying as ever. Pretty average episode overall. |

| Damn, it's been years. I may not be the biggest Index fan but even for me it's been a long time since I've seen all these characters especially since I haven't seen Railgun. Must've been hell for the Index fans who were waiting for all these years. Good for you guys. xD Anyway, nice restart to the series. The OP was strangely nostalgic to me, had a very Index like tune to it I guess. Touma getting in all the trouble as usual but hey Touma, you get nice views in return. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I honestly don't remember too much of the story or the events of II, I'll probably reread the summary or something by next week. Is there any news on who's officially simulcasting this? I know CR picked it up in non-english countries but I haven't heard anything regarding it's license for English simulcast. I hope this isn't a Netflix show. xD |
