The NHK Anime World news blog has revealed that French comic Radiant by Tony Valente will get a TV anime. The series will be broadcast via NHK ETV in Fall 2018.

Synopsis
Seth is an aspiring sorcerer from the Pompo Hills area. Like all wizards, he is an "infected," one of the few living beings who survived the contact of the Nemesis—creatures fallen from the sky that contaminate and decimate all those they touch. Being immune to them, Seth wants to become a Hunter and fight the Nemesis. But more than that, Seth wants to engage in a quest that goes beyond the simple hunt for monsters. He wants to find the Radiant, their presumed cradle. Aided by a faction of fellow sorcerers, he travels the world in search of the Radiant, under the harsh scrutiny of the Inquisition. (Source: MangaHelpers, edited)

Staff
Director: Seiji Kishi (Tsuki ga Kirei)
Series Director: Motoo Fukuoka (Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen)
Series Composition: Makoto Uezu (Akame ga Kill!)
Studio: Lerche

The series has been published since 2013 and currently has eight volumes in print in France. Asukashinsha began publishing the series in Japan in 2015 and released the seventh volume in December last year.

A French comic, huh? But it'll be animated by Studio Lerche. I like Studio Lerche, and I hope this one will be good.

Interesting to choose a French comic. Has to mean the source material is at least good. The synopsis sounds intriguing and the studio look good.

OH great. Lerche will do this one. I'm liking the manga - and there's even a Japanese version - so I'm having hopes for this title.

This definitely looks interesting, mainly because I want to see some variety in an anime with a fantasy setting.

Have mixed feelings regarding the stuff, tho, but it could work out well.

Why do I feel like people act like it was the first western adaptation into anime???

Nonetheless, I met the original creator back in 2013 at a manga convention in montreal and I have to say that his drawings are totally japanese-like. I read the first volume and it feels really like reading a manga.

Quick question if castlevania and boondocks are not classified as anime even though the art style is just like any other anime what makes this an anime (when asked why castlevania wasnt an anime people said it wasnt made in japan) under this logic wouldnt panty stocking a garterbelt be a cartoon im fairly new to anime(a year or so in) can someone explain this logic Im confused?

Its not about the artstyle but the fact that they're not made in japan and not made for a japanese audience while this one is actually made in japan, for japan.

Cool, we needed an example that bland shit anime doesn't come only from terrible LN source material.
under the harsh scrutiny of the Inquisition.
And that not only nips can't be bothered to know the first thing about European history.

so if the creator of the boondocks lived in japan would it be an anime the definition of anime is a style of animation ORIGINATING in Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action-filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes....still very confused if boondocks was dubbed in Japanese would it then be an anime now im more confused

Hi hi, original reader right here! I own all the volumes that came out for now in french (so up to the 8th one), and so far so good in my opinion; at first I thought it would be like a generic shounen battle manga because the general story really makes it seems like one, but the characters really helps in building the story and making it enjoyable... and for once I thought that Seth (the MC) isn't as annoying as the majority of shounen battle MCs. The character designs are also pretty nice, the art style looks real close to "Japan manga authentic", and there's a good balance between humour and seriousness in the story.

Fun point to note, Yusuke Murata publicized and pushed the release of the Radiant manga in Japan.

Also original reader, gonna be brief and just reply to all those who think this is the newest Black Clover which is just a copy of every shonen and so on. Don't worry, it's not half bad, it's actually a very well done shonen, even by being exactly what you'd expect from a shonen. Also don't focus too much on the "french" point, the comic itself's got nothing french, it's just french because the author is.
Ruka desu.

Well my point is that the industry is finally begin to adapt out of their nation... So whether the anime is good or bad, the fact that they even tried is a step forward

Oh lord some people sucking Japan's cock for only having Japan is outstanding. Also this isn't actually... anything surprising? I think they have done Korean manga adaptions so. Also, this to me is a step in the right direction because it opens up more ways for people's source to get into the industry, and expanding it more than just the usual stuff we get.

Not like I'm complaining that the stuff we get here, but its something nice.

If you're suggesting that this is the first time that an anime is being adapted from non-Japanese source material, then that is dead wrong.
