Everyone keeps saying it gets better but lol, this isn't something I'd praise in the long run built on such a terrible weak foundation (sexual assault/rape and melodrama).

Now I believe that this anime was directed by the director of Yosuga. All this light pseudo-incest subtext, problems with your feelings, vulgar jokes on the brink. I'm surprised that there is still no ecchi tag.

Don't forget it's the same person who directed Spice and Wolf, as that is arguably most important.

Jesus this was dumb.

I always thought that only straight anime relationships are always overly dramatic and unrealistically complicated, guess i was wrong ...like the "dark" chick forcefully kiss cheerful straight chick, and she miraculously fell for that girl and turn lesbo, what ? Thats like the No. 1 rule in Ai shows.

I feel like i must be 13 to enjoy this show. Guess its finally time for the drop.

At least Citrus has more balls than straight shows.

I love how kids call this sexual assault when this is normal aggressive sexual behavior. if things i did in HS would be seen by modern standards ppl would call me a rapist lol

I know right? And besides, everyone ignored it in the manga, but now all of a sudden people are calling it "rapey" for no other reason than they made the scenes with Mei and Yuzu more cinematic and detailed.

I wouldn't say that Citrus has more balls when a lot of shoujo manga/anime does practically the same thing.

Now regarding the show itself, it's not that bad(definitely better than Netsuzou Trap) but I'll probably drop it gets more melodramatic, I think it'll be better to catch up on Gintama(by the way, I like your avatar).

You haven't read the manga for Citrus. It has a lot of balls, arguably a lot more than most shoujo manga.

I've said this countless times in defense of Citrus, but the drama is intentional and people have to stop criticizing something for what it is successful at accomplishing. We're talking about a series focusing around teenagers, and I have high respect for Citrus for taking melodrama to it's limits. That said, many will find out soon enough just how mature Citrus' writing actually is. It's not the most mature by any means, but it certainly doesn't get the credit it deserves. Though catching up with Gintama is definitely a good choice, it's not like dropping or watching one would affect your enjoyment of the other.

I'm not really trying to say that the drama makes the show/manga bad as if it is a fact, it's just that the writing in Citrus(at the moment) is not my cup of tea. Tsuki Ga Kirei is an anime that fits my taste. It's realistic, has a good romance with likeable characters and while there's some drama, it definitely is on a tolerable level. Whoa I must say this was quite good episode. I feel like drama is going quite realistic. I find Mei is quite mature and cold-hearted(manipulate people with kisses) and could figure out why she was carrying that doujin. On the other hand, Yuzu is very childish despite being old though(now the reason behind some of her immature acting makes sense to me). Very curious to see how this goes.

BTW, I am totally not liking that Himeko's character! :\ well she is going to make more trouble.

Ok, while some scenes felt blant compared with the source material, this a far better episode than ep2, this is what I m asking, the pacing is still a bit too much for me, but the yuri scenes were kinda great here, you could feel Yuzu's emotions!

Sadly it dropped the ball at the end, the music they choose for BGM didnt fit right with the drama at the end, poor choice there.

Bed scene was great, Yuzu was so cute there, also props for Harumi, best wingman!
Sometimes I do wish she got more love from Yuzu, but a Harumi x Yuzu x Mei would feel weird.

This episode should give us a roller coaster feels, like i love mei as much I hate her feeling. but the soundtrack didn't support that feels. It should sound melodramatic not like action or thrilling movie

Thank you, one of the only advantages they have above the manga, I m expecting them to make better use of this in the future.

You know, I haven't commented in MAL's forums almost at all until Citrus started airing, because it's actually kind of funny to see all the cute tsunderes keep coming back for more xD

Anyway, I quite enjoyed the episode as usual! Yuzu scores points with Gramps, Harumin is best girl as usual, and Yuzu reads some Yuri manga before getting excited and giving a little tough love back to Mei. This is my favorite ep so far, I feel like the emotions portrayed by the characters in this episode really add to the original source, especially in Mei's case.

*sigh* I should have waited until this finished airing, this series is like junk food for me. It goes fast, it's bad for me, and it's delicious >_>

Really digging the realism in this show. For one most of the characters motivations and actions actually feel of that of a HS student. I know the anime community harps to much on yuri but adolescences always finds its way experimenting with love and lust at a young age. It really does portray the real world accurately. I am so glad the romance is progressing.

Loving the drama as well. So glad Tatsuwa (nisekoi director) is chief directing this series. The style is def showing. Can't wait for more of this fab show. This season is a treat.

Looks like you are one of the minority here that actually comprehends whats going on and doesn't call it "Unrealistic" or "dumb"

As a lesbian I can't actually say that this show is very reflective of my own experiences but I wouldn't go so far as to call it "dumb". I'm actually a longtime fan of the manga but I acknowledge that the storytelling is a bit melodramatic and relies pretty heavily on the non consent trope until later on. There are definitely better yuri series out there if you want a well developed relationship. I'd love to see Girlfriends by Milk Moringa animated or a proper ending to Sasameki Koto.

Yeah never understand what people see in this "rape ai relationships", it's bad ... predictable and cliche.

Well, when I was reading the book of the editor Dengeki Bunko, he said that according to his rules, "MC should never commit immoral acts". Therefore, there are so many works on the market where the protagonist plays the role of weak-willed mcgaffin for a heap of girls.

Metaphor. Yuzu is happy at first because Mei comes back, but Mei talked about coming to be a family, Yuzu realizes that she and Mei will be as sisters ... not lovers like she would like. So ticket gate shut close at the moment where her hopes to be someone other than a sister shut down too.

This was pretty awful. The entire build-up of the previous episode was completely forfeit due to a sudden Deus Ex Machina of grandpa deciding to reflect on his past behavior but on top of that Yuzu has now managed to beat Mei at sexual assault. Like I can get behind Mei kissing Yuzu in order to "shut her up". It's insane that she would think that, but it's not overtly malicious. Now Yuzu apparently acts like being in love with Mei means she's entitled to pin her to the desk and kiss her. What the actual hell.

And of course just as Mei becomes sympathetic she is revealed to be cold and cruel again as she tells Yuzu that she has no interest in her while still mock-kissing her just to, I assume, show how little it means to her. And this time she has nothing to hide behind, grandpa told her in no unambiguous terms that he wants her to choose for herself. In other words acting cold and cruel towards Yuzu WAS HER OWN CHOICE.

The only hero in all of this is Yuzumom.

Although you won't understand why I say this until you pass the 300 mark, the Porori Arc just adapts unimportant arcs that were cut out earlier and only serve as a reminder for older characters. It wasn't bad per say, but it definitely isn't the best Gintama has to offer, and it ends up feeling like a waste of time. That's why I said you can skip it, but if you feel like mulling through 12 of the most uninteresting and unimportant comedy arcs in the series after you hit the 300 mark, go ahead and watch it.

Its nice to see Yuzu is so determined to get through to Mei though. Though here her sneak in was fortunate though. Its nice that Mei too is trying to move forward as well. Her trying to understand what a family is is a good first step. Yuzu looks like she's having fun using Mei's name though. Even when he's in hospital a chairmen's work is never done huh. Its nice that as a result of this that the chairmen has seen the mistakes that he had made and gave Mei his blessing to make her own choices. Yuzu sure had a strong reaction after seeing the double bed. Hmm an interesting way to shut someone up though. Yuzu's actions in the office sure was bold though but should have managed to convince Mei of her feelings.

Good lord in heavens, the animation is so sloppy and I'm not talking about the CGI. It constantly yet unexpectedly goes from derpy to (pretty) nice. So vexing.

I loved the bed so much tho. It was so ridiculously big it made me burst into laughter. It didn't seem this huge in the manga.

And in regard to sexual assaults and whatnot, the anime itself seems to cut down on them a bit. I mean, it's based on a yuri manga, what did you expect anyway?

the only reason i do not ship harumin with anyone is because i want her to remain straight all the way, NOT making every single character gay gets saburo uta some huge points, as most works depict the whole cast or a huge majority of it being gay or something, while keeping some of them straight adds a ton of very needed realism

the only reason i do not ship harumin with anyone is because i want her to remain straight all the way, NOT making every single character gay gets saburo uta some huge points, as most works depict the whole cast or a huge majority of it being gay or something, while keeping some of them straight adds a ton of very needed realism

Meh I disagree. I personally dig the chemistry between her and Yuzu
