The show tries to be 'realistic' but this irrational behaviour would literally never happen. I give it a 6, but it could have been so much more. I was excited every week to see if it would get better; if we would get some sort of progression. I was left with a half-baked show with little substance. I can only hope that season 2 (if it's even coming) will be better, although I doubt it. Why do you think this behavior is unrealistic? They're teenagers. Their brains are not fully formed yet. They're graduating high school. Not like that rendezvous was a 2 minute walk from the school; it seemed pretty far away. The choice not to send the text was entirely based on the need for drama within the show. I do love the show, but I'm not going to ignore its flaws. |

He then runs to the spot she mentions in her text but she’s not there and he then messages her. Makes sense to me, Eita had avoided Natsume for the whole day so it’s understandable that she gave up on the whole thing. Still shitty on her behalf though. Again, perfectly understandable because Natsume can be a bit of a bitch. Overall I found the sequence believable. Natsume still was a bitch for not contacting Eita untill the first day of University but thats how she is. She’s lucky that Eita loves her despite her flaws, not that Eita doesn’t have some himself. What do you mean? Sure, if the rendezvous was around the corner his actions would be acceptable, but it was across town on a hill. No reasonable person would hinge their whole relationship on the chance that she wouldn't leave after at least 10 mins. It's just poor writing and I'm shocked you think this is normal. |

No. No reasonable person. A teenager. He was sulking and Natsume wanted to speak to him. He had no expectations that she liked him and had previously decided to let it all go since as far as he was concerned she still liked Harito. It also fits with his character. Perfectly reasonable. I find it annoying when people say “well I wouldn’t have done that!” Well no shit Sherlock, that’s because you are not that character! It’s a sign that people are self inserting which is lame. |

The ending in my opinion was poorly executed. The set up was great. The main character hit a home run, the OP is playing, he's running to meet the girl... and nope. It doesn't end. It waits for a time skip and shows them slightly older... that was fine but It was such a weak end moment with her texting him behind you and them confessing. It would have been better on the hill with the OP playing. |

A bit disappointed in the end. Good that Eita and Mio end up together, they fit well, both indecisive, both calm and introverts, both thinking they have no chance with the other, but the fact they had to wait a month without contact and the fact they were lucky enough to be in the same university in the end (here they both fought but one failed, luckily), the fact they didn't manage/ they didn't fight to meet after the last high-school day, that all made me summarize the end as something like : _ they got together "just because" ... of luck, "just because" ... "anime" ". and that's a pretty badly written ending IMO. I wish there were an epilogue with Komiya few years later, totally happy and in love with a handsome photographer, both traveling around the world and working as reporter or something. That's what she deserves (more than being with Eita, she had a crush but she would have get bored with a guy like him sooner or later). Visually, the show was not that good, sadly. I really enjoyed the low key, realistic atmosphere though. |

Firstly, I'm surprised that the dearest Mio Natsume is the valedictorian of the batch. Omedetto! It's a shame that Ena lost the competition. On the bright side, her club was saved by her clubmates. Still, I'd like to congratulate them for winning the competition. I did not expect this to happen. I'm glad that Eita was able to sort things out with Ena even if he didn't pass the entrance exam and Ena not precisely winning on the competition. It was expected already for me that he'd turn her down. I'm just glad that he did it the proper way. Painful it may seem to Ena, but I'm glad that she understood after all that's the Izumi-senpai she loved. I wish her success on her future career along with her clubmates. Then here comes college life. I'm glad that Morikawa and Haruto are still keeping touch with each other. Even with their high school friends, including Yukino. I'm glad that Haruto's enjoying his company work with the adults, at the same time, Morikawa, making new friends and having her musical band club. It was also nice to see Eita having the chance of becoming a batter and hitting a home run. I really got anticipated to the point that Mio wasn't able to confess during the graduation. Seems like it was inevitable for the two to experience awkwardness after what happened. I'm glad that they both ended up in the same university. Didn't also expect Eita to confess his feelings first before Mio did. A happy ending for these two couples. #TeamNatsume I'd say I can relate to some of the experiences that had happened in this anime. Really took me back the time when I was still in high school. Of course, this anime have made me miss it more. A job well done for this anime. |

I really dont know why they gave so much development for komiya, she was the focus in much of history to the end stays as second option, Komiya was the best character by far and I felt sad the way she finished, i felt sad for her... The anime was good, but I dont like how Izumi is so cold in a bad way and in the final they kept the cliche of end with the first girl. At all was a good final, realistic like a last day of the school and the begin of a adult life, the anime for me was 7/10 it has so much problems but the history and the vibe are really good, I would recommend my friends to see it. |

What a lovely ending, i already shipped them together since start(eita and mio), despite some obstacle and misunderstanding. For komiya though, although she got rejected at least she got her own happiness in other way ( her club and her member still stay together ). I also glad that both Haruto and Morikawa ends up well. I really satisfied and happy with this series, with great OP by yanagi nagi and she also compose all the musing and song if i'm not mistaken, and great ED by each female protagonist voice actress.I glad just cause become another great original anime beside re: creator, zankyou no terror, and etc. my favorite things is everything started and ended with that home run full of belief. after all it's "just because" well i finished this series right in new years eve, so i am really happy, and happy new years for everybody in MAL 10/10 for me |

It was a pretty good romance series, not as good as Tsuki ga Kirei imo but I still really enjoyed it. Honestly starting off the year with Scum's wish, I thought this year for romance anime would be awful but I'm happy I found two shows that I enjoyed. Hoping for an OVA epilogue showing them a bit in the future. |

Well the finale was lame and disappointing. I like the fact that the story is a little different with unrequited love and the parallel male lead being the main love interest of the female protagonist. But the writer included a lot unnecessary drama throughout the series that it literally overshadowed the romance. Not to mention the anime was rushed with more screen-time being spent on Haruto and Hazuki whose relationship seemed pretty stable halfway. While there was hardly any meaningful conversation or interaction between Mio and Eita apart from some development through Line messaging like Tsuki Ga Kirei wannabe anime. Honestly, the anime had potential in the beginning but this changed when the story became predictable. I mean they could've have made Komiya and Eita get into a relationship and then realise their true feelings just to spice up the show or maybe have Haruto move on from Morkiawa's rejection and date her friend just to make it a little interesting. Instead the writers continued with the generic route of one love. This made Eita appear madly in love with Mio despite knowing her feelings for Haruto throughout the show and wasted rest of time by having them sort out those feelings. The story only progressed somewhat after Mio four's year crush Haruto decided to ask another girl out instead of her which is when she began to acknowledge Eita otherwise the characters would've maintained status quo throughout the show and nothing would really change. Even though it was predictable I didn't like how Komiya was sidelined and made to be neglected by Eita most of the time even when her feelings seemed more genuine and honest then Mio. Personally I found Mio's character to be quite edgy and selfish from the start instead of nervous and quiet but still there was some change in her. But Eita remained an average character till the end. I understand he is shy and introverted but that's no reason to make him bland and boring. In short, this was mediocre. Just because...I learned more about Japanese Universities, graduations, places, examination procedures then the story itself LOL. I really don't know what difference does their "fateful"reunion/confession at the university makes considering they will be more busy than they were in high school where they just wasted all their free time procrastinating. |

Pretty disappointed with the ending...well sort of. It was just kind of weird that for whatever reason they were dodging each others texts during graduation, and then cut off like all contact with each other until they started college, and just happened to text/see each other there and confess. And the confession itself was uh, definitely a let down. (Also it was extremely fucking irritating that for whatever reason, this was the ONE episode where they didnt subtitle the fucking text messages so I had no idea what was going on there). I also didnt care for Mio too much as a character. I didnt hate her per say, but she was very tropey from start to finish, and didnt really seem to have a noteworthy relationship with Eita or anything. She fell in love with Soma because he picked up her fucking eraser, was all about him for years while Eita got friend-zoned. Poor Eita stood by her the entire time dealing with her shit and her obsession with him. Always acted depressed and "oh woe is me" when things didnt go her way. The highlight is that he actually graduated from the friend-zone; thats rare both in anime and IRL. The only chemistry the two seem to have is that they tell each other things straight. They dont mince words with each other. But other than that, like, they hardly talked, hardly spent time together, would go extended periods of time without contact, etc. Just didnt seem like a real foundation to foster any kind of romance. The whole subplot with the entrance exams was also fucking stupid and pointless. They mad it this huge deal that they were taking the exams to each others schools. Ended up not mattering in the slightest. Eita failed and stayed at Josei. Mio got into Josei. They never told each other and just ran into one another at the end (to little surprise to each other anyway), so what was the point? Honestly it might've been better if they elaborated more on Mio following in her sisters footsteps, and then deciding to finally make a choice of her own and go to Josei for her and because of Eita, but left Eita's exam part out of it entirely. It literally didnt matter. It was just a half-assed poor excuse to not confess to her at graduation. Definitely felt bad for best girl Komiya too. I mean goddamn, she was by far above and beyond the best girl of the entire series. Nobody came close. Her personality was great, her chemistry with Eita was great (hell even Soma said something about it). She always ran into him or met up with him and spent time with him. She literally went out of her way to visit every single shrine in the area to get him every good luck charm possible, and HAND MADE him an entire yearbook (and chocolate). And confessed her love to him multiple times. Like...if that isnt some love and dedication idk what is. It's not that Mio is a bad girl, but when you compare her character and Komiya in every aspect, Mio literally doesnt do shit the entire time. Komiya blows her out of the water. I think what caught me off guard the most the entire series was that Komiya didnt win her award either. Both her and Eita lost. It was actually the photo her club mates took of her taking a photo of Eita that won. Photoception. Was honestly expecting her to win after all of the emphasis they put on it. Overall I think the show was a bit of a mixed bag. I think the start of the show was incredibly slow. So slow I was expecting it to be trash. But then it surprisingly picked up and became a pretty interesting romance drama, but then ended on a pretty low note here. I think they could've removed some things (like Mio's friend being a bitch to Morikawa on and off again for no reason, and the Eita exam subplot) and focused a little more on character development, specifically Mio with Eita...enough to justify them as a couple, but as an anime original it was still pretty damn enjoyable. |

As much as I liked the art style, and how the animation in the finale redeemed itself for the massive quality drop of later episodes, I can't get over the feeling that overall, where this show was pretty close to perfection the first half of the season, if anime were still drawn and written on actual paper, I'd take the second half of both the script and screens to wipe my soiled buttocks. So, I guess it's fair to rate this one right at the middle: 5/10 The ending played out exactly how I thought it would, which sadly was a coward's ending. Worst of all is not even Izumi x Natsume, but rather the fact that he came to be because the genius with a recommendation failed the entrance exam to a lesser university, and no one even questioned it, not even his own parents. Then there're countless annoyances: like we never got anything on Yoriko, Komiya basically failed too (they won with a creepshot made by one of the two other photography club members), and who on earth is Nakajima? Sure, this is all bery well possible, but from a narrative point of view it makes no sense. A Dutch writer once said that if an author describes a rifle hanging on the wall on page 7 of a book, somewhere further ahead in the story something has to happen with the rifle. Just Because! completely fails in this respect. It invests heavily in the Izumi x Soma bromance, it repeatedly shows signs that Izumi x Komiya makes more sense, even having Soma and Morikawa comment on it, yet these things are just dropped and a hastily introduced university choice sub plot completely takes over. I wasn't even needed, like Izumi could have been picking his nose for the last five episodes, and the result and emotions would have been exactly the same. In the end what we have is just a show with carefully budgetted animation and market segment management, about some thot that settles for her crush's apathethic best friend. RobertBobert said: Eh, the miracle did not happen and we have another generic end with the illusion of intrigue. It's a pity. I hope that I will ever see anime, where the third character is not introduced just to suffer and create a non-existent weight to the central couple. I don't think Eita's character is apathetic because he is shown to have interest and concern for others. But he hides those feelings due to his introverted personality. And if he were apathetic he wouldn't try to reconnect with Haruto or try to get in the same university as Mio or even help Komiya. But he did. Besides he held on his crush for 4 years knowing of Mio's feelings for Haruto. He even helped her out with exams and tried to get in the same university just to remain by her side unaware of Mio's changed feelings. This kind of dedication can only be of someone who is madly in love but is not good at expressing those feelings. |

Its a pity for Komiya's confession but she knew Izumi loved Natsume's but took a chance anyway, stupid but bold. I am happy for Izumi and Natsume, too bad for Soma because he really wanted Morikawa ( I guess he finally accepted the distance). I was rooting mostly for Soma-morikawa relationship mostly but I was very disappointed, because I love when a series doesn't sideline supporting characters when it comes to romance ( this one didn't deliver). But most of all I loved how the series built their love towards each other, romance in real life is like that. The downside is that the characters didn't leave a mark and there was no crucial story, but it was decent. So a 7/10 is well deserved for this one. |

Majority of the comments, including yours seem to be salty because natsume won. Fun fact, she got a ton of development. Where komiya was straight forward she was confused and took a while to find her footing, she she finally did we saw that growth. Its easily why I preferred her to Komiya. Hell, even if you paid attention to the show you would have realized that komiya knew the end results as well. I get how you're feeling because your girl didn't get the guy, cause I watched nagiasu. I love that show, did I like the confirmed pairing? no. but that doesn't mean that everything the show did was for naught just because your couple didn't come true. You legit stated you liked the side couple and komiya. That's the majority of this show dude. Stop being salty. Natsume was the better girl IMO. I can relate to her, not everyone is straight forward. Hell love a lot of the time is confusing and it takes time to truly sort out your feelings. I'm not happy with the way the confession went down, I felt like him being late was stupid, but other than that, it was a great way to wrap up a good anime and if you didn't "like it" you wouldn't have watched till the end buddy. Majority of these reactions is because of the "best girl" nonsense. |

Anyway, anime was good, a bit slow, but good, but thats about it really. This is one forgettable anime for me, art style is nice, music is nice, characters are pretty good, but none of it great or anything to me. 7/10. |

Haruto now works, Morikawa studies and they are in different cities afar, so he doesn't even get to lay down on her. The total lack of common life experience, combined with lack of previous bonds between them, i.e. no prior dating all means game over. Do you think a tall, good-looking, modest, yet unattended girl won't be collected quickly by some stylish mate on campus who also happens to have a pile of money to invest in the dated-looking Morikawa family business? If Haruto abandoned his low-tier local career path (if any, considering he only has sec. education) and moved to Morikawa's univ. city to do whatever work is available there, no matter how menial, he could have retained a slight chance by demonstrating, day after day his usefulness as a future worker for the Morikawa family business and hopefully by holding on to the girl during the night. Japan really needs guidance from the Bible, so: "Man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh - Genesis 2,24-25" (Also compare H&M of JB! to Tsuki ga Kirei, where both the boy and girl were studying during their LDR, had a year of previous dating memories, including kisses if not more. The boy travelled every weekend to be with her starting from day one of LDR and they high-frequency traded instant messages all workdays. Yet they barely made it through to marriage, owing to extreme jealousy back and forth and there was a lot of temptation on the girl in the univ. environment.) It's best to remove pink glasses. |

Of course, Eita was obviously in love with Natsume, so there was just no chance there. *sigh* It hurt to see Ena like that. Not only did she get turned down, she also lost the contest, AND her charms didn't help Eita pass the exam. The author must really hate Ena, huh? This show did a good job of getting across those bittersweet feelings of graduating from high school. But the romance could have been a lot better. Best romance anime of 2017: 1. Tsuki ga Kirie 2. The boy travelled every weekend to be with her starting from day one of LDR and they high-frequency traded instant messages all workdays. It's best to remove pink glasses. well, what i mean by ends well is, yeah i just happy to see every characters happiness including them (it just that i think subjectively) but if we think objectively i really agreed with you, tbh i also wish them to be at least living in same town(although not in same college), but what can we say ? haha the series just end like that. and for LDR, TGK had more powerful bonding for both sides before they were drifting apart( kiss, romantic moments and memories) and beside that the most important thing that made TGK win over just because its the credits, they showed us they stil keep in touch regularly through the message in their LDR until in the end they showed us they got married and had a baby, something like this i think is making viewer more relieved and leaving them from anxiety. if this thing applied in JB i think it'll be a lot better(especially for me) haha XD. yeah that thing also that made TGK is slightly above JB, but still i love both series haha BTW that's a good reference you have right there XD Mormegil said: Best romance anime of 2017: 1. Fast forward a year and all these ships will have sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Shame. :/ I'm happy that Morikawa and Haruto are still in contact, but they weren't that close to begin with and they'll probably drift apart. For example, Haruto and Eita stopped contacting after a while even though they were good friends; we heard and saw about this at the beginning... unless the two actively try to get together it's not going to work out. As for Natsume and Eita... tbh both their passive natures might or might not work out. But seriously they have huge communication issues. I can't see it working out even after they get together... (Natsume didn't read his message for a month and Eita just took it?? =.=). Maybe if he managed to meet up with her on the hill, that would've made for a better finale. Not a month later without Eita even knowing she got into his university... there's nothing driving their relationship. I wish Komiya well. She was definitely my favorite with her go-getter attitude and wanting to support Eita even though she knew he didn't return her feelings. Started strong, nice middle, but the ending could've been better. |

Quite an expected end for each character. Sad Komiya, really she's too good for Eita. The detailed & realistic actions/situations, occasionally marred by wonky animation are quite similar to tsukigakirei. But here both Mio & Eita are stuck up & too reserved, while their arguing is fun to watch they don't really make a fun couple. Haruto & Morikawa are sorta keeping touch, with nicer development & some family/brothers mixed in. Ignoring realism, found two other more enjoyable romances this season. |

I think most Enya fans forget that she is still a child, not just because she's one year junior to Eita / Mio but also due to her immature mind. Furthermor, anime art cannot depict the very young and the adults properly, so there is a visual age compression, 8 to 18 years all look too similar. Otherwise it would have been obvious to viewers that the two official couples are now becoming adults - while Enya is a tomboy, whose moral compass is about as weak as Watamotomoko's, as shown by her "paparazzi" photo behaviour. |

Felt a bit rushed at the end. Not my preferred kind of ending. Seems vague, incomplete. I guess for a finale to a relaxing series, it is to be expected. |

5/10 overall they didn't do enough to build the relationship between the two of them so the end had no payoff imo, I don't buy that they will ever be a couple long term because of how little they interact in the series. |

Guys just to be clear this one. I like komiya at first but i change to natsume. Here just my opinion of what i see. You see that eita recently transfer like 4 years, he didn't study after got that recommendation to joei university which make him rusty or rips. Then when eita meet his old classmate like haruto and mio, he like slowly click on his mind. He started to know mio because when mio stuck by her first love. You could say "her awkwardness" makes things impossible for her to approach haruto. Eita always think its all in the past, maybe he think he forgot his love to natsume. As much as i hate to say, i almost same like eita, rarely talk and sometimes get annoying by people who talk alot when we recently met. Then as for komiya, why komiya keep approaching eita when they recently meet? Why komiya keep disturbing eita when her club on the verge of disband. Why she not like haruto as well? As seen like eita said no, he don't want to participate his picture appear on public. She still keep pushing him eventhough he didn't like it. Eita feel really annoying. The reason he help her was he feel pity at her. You know like he want to go home to get study but she keep like wanted him to stay. Eita wanted to study because of the lost time that being caused by komiya and the lost time because he skip class and study after got recommendation. If i were in komiya position, i rather not disturb eita, you could only talk when he got time. But don't just enter room like its your own house. Theres a limit. Trying seeing again like komiya keep entering eita room without knocking, try see eita close his book so that she don't see it. Then i don't know if she notice or not. She said if i get an award, he will confess her love to him. Thats what eita makes like she notice or not that its the same as confess already. Pushing might makes opposite happen considering eita personality. Then again she should know that her club member always there but she keep skip it and always take picture where that mysterious transfer student were. I called this blind by love. She can make better picture even if take picture of the school or garden with the perfect match with sky. Well at least the end they trying to enter the art university. Hope komiya learn from mistake though, well she could get another partner which feel OK with her personality. As for mio, mio at first know eita when first meet, well people tend to say she got time to confess her love to haruto, "her awarkness" makes things impossible. I know this since irl, theres also girl love me but i dunno how i react to her and still i haven't heard this girl confess to me face to face. I only notice because of her friend told me. Well i still amateur at that time. I trying to forgot love. Back to topic again, i hate mio at first because she make excuse like on episode 4 maybe, she said that she can pass the exam if haruto success in confess his feeling to morikawa. Well good eita makes thing clear that was the part mio need to abandon. After eita makes that talk to mio, then she started to think and wanted to make clear to souma. At least she try now, she feel like she refresh after returning haruto eraser. Well she like haruto at first because of how much she wanted to pass the exam then the eraser of her fall on to the ground, its almost like me, when stuff fall on the group during the exam, i also like feel worry if i take it, people think i try to cheat by using fall that eraser. And as just to consider some possiblity, mio always had bad luck at her critical time, if eita didn't help her, she might feel hopeless. You like she doing student council, but got cancel because of rain, she got called from school when she didn't do her math homework, she missed her trip. I couldn't help but admire her strong personality that time which attract me. If it were i was rip this and curse things. Its kinda embarassing when remember that old time but then again we learn from mistake. As for the train, if we were alone like that part where mio alone after test, we also can remember the past. If eita not transfer before, i'm not sure what happen now though. As for that part where komiya ask mio can she asked eita on a date on, that mio subconsious saying no. You can see the part where mio starting to watch on eita after what happen, so i'm not really sure is it because of komiya make things happen or because after eita help, she remember the past that eita keep help her, like that student council stuff, she always carry alone. Remember that joei university in that anime was known its famous high university compare to suizan, eita fail because of skip class after got recommendation, then got force to accompany until night time. I think anime make it short, we only notice they eita know history things when he ask question to natsume, so he might fail at other subject? Which he needed more time to study. As for that part morikawa ask mio about do you love haruto? Well mio said yes. Maybe mio still have love to haruto but you know she didn't do a thing and she didn't even let anything happen. When her friend ask her if she has a crush, she said yes so she able to take a conversation. She notice she got affectionate toward eita because how eita keep helping her from the past and now. So she trying to move from her first love. I know its like kinda fast, but i also got like that, then when i found the good one, i trying to forget the past one. So now i feel nothing towards the past love. She slowly feel affectionate towrd eita and forgot her past, which happen likw that when mio trying to get close to eita when eita got text from haruto. Well oh boy eita was a bit shock like his first got close all of sudden makes his hand sudden press home button. This also happen in real life to some of us i mean. Eita like what, why mio makes that face. Oh i forgot something, eventhough mio know haruto like morikawa, mio didn't disturb their relationship compare to komiya know eita love mio, but komiya change his phone wallpaper without his permission, well eita takes a picture because maybe he was wanted to differenciate the picture from phone and that camera but komiya personality makes thing impossible. Or maybe he grow affectinate towards her because if she like that action mode, she like totally different person. So eita like that part of her. As for some part, i notice that eita know alot about mio, same with vice versa. Mio said eita keep taking things seriously or personally. While komiya different, she didn't know alot about eita but trying to make eita see her. Forcing aren't a great tactic towards eita personality compare to slowly pace. Maybe because anime got 12 episode or maybe komiya got alot of screentime with eita compare to mio and eita. We can't blame if mio start to take a test at joei, she need to like 2x or more hard work which some episode see that she lack of sleeping just to pass the test while eita got invitation and stuff. So she lack of meeting on eita. She notice her affectionate toward eita was when komiya that time hug eita at the back, and also seeing eita phone wallpaper makes her think like her affection towards eita getting strong. Oh that time when she said this is her stop on that train, and she didn't know where she was because "her awkwardness" too strong. You can see that her character like what you call this startled? When komiya sid izumi-senpai after abroad the train. Before mio gives the death stare. And the last one if they meet after that ball home run feel like same like other anime, but eita should had text her at that time. Eventhough he know natsume searching for him. And i'm not sure how line work, does we able to read throw like notification without enter the apps? If so, then she might read it beforehand but gonna settled if fate able to crossover. Which to be exact not perfect one month she start to read eita text if mio able meet eita much earlier , maybe that one month, was that finally mio meet eita so she start to open that line apps and read the text. And as for komiya again, i hope she learn mistake and got good partner which understand her and same applied to both interest to each other. I gives this 9/10 because they should make ending a bit longer after they said i like you, maybe anime keep stop 23 or 24min kinda like what. I really want to know if they got a long conversation at that area. PS: its not easy to meet even an old friend. We study at same college but different course, we finally notice each other like 1-2 months, can't say exact how long for sure. I respect eita for not giving up his first love, its not alot of people can do that Sorry for the long post #donthateme #justmyopinion #eachpeoplehaddifferentopinion #maybeimisssomething #imalsonotperfect #mylecturerkeepsayinglearnfrommistake |

I liked it. It made me feel pretty nostalgic. The ending was weird though -- I guess Natsume wanted to surprise Izumi but he's not a man that gets surprised. I'd love to know what sapped all of the emotion out of him at such a young age. |

Nothing very special about the ending and kind of expected. Overall, this anime has good OST and settings but the animation went downhill throughout the anime. The animation studio also lacks the expertise on character's movement. Running and walking animations were so awkward and off-putting. The plot device used is repetitive, for example, baseball scenes and trumpet scenes were repeated for a few times. Though, this shouldn't be a problem for a SoL anime but I just wish the writer could have thought of something different. |

And it happens again. The anime starts off with MC either meeting the main girl or already being in love with her, better girl shows up, they have much better chemistry, she likes him way more, is cuter and better in every conceivable way, then she confesses to him and he turns her down in favor of the first girl he saw. This just keeps happening over and over and over again. Of course MAL yet again agrees with me (in terms of how man favourites each character has) on which girl is better but that obviously doesn't matter to the writer. It's just annoying at this point. The least MC could have done was think about it for 2 seconds but they made it abundantly clear the he would pick Mio no matter what. Whatever, at least the buildup was great. Yet another anime I'm never gonna touch again because remembering it is just gonna piss me off. 8/10 |
