Same here. I really glad when Inuyashiki kicked his ass and ripped him apart. It's so satisfying to watch that. Whenever Hiro got lot of screentime, I tend to not like that episode much.

I was so tense on my seat until the moment Inuyashiki shot Hiro. I clapped my hands so hard watching that. When Mari 'died', it was so sad to see Inuyashiki cried. He saved other people but can't save his own daughter but he didn't give up and keep trying and Mari survived. I guess the meteorite will be in the next episode.

Great episode, but not without its flaws. Animation, both 2d and CG, was pretty bad during the flight scene. And what the hell was that soundtrack during the airplane scene??
The aftermath of the fight was definetely the best part of the episode. It all felt so... real. Depending on the next episode this show might end up as one of my favorites.

Holy shit, the way Shishigami confronted Inuyashiki was surprising and cool.
"So I'm the villain?" Damn. This kid's more fucked up in the end then we realized.
I think it would've been more impactful if the daughter actually died, but it was still sweet how she turned out alive.
The fight...was mediocre. The backgrounds at times looked really off. And the Sakuga moments like the explosion and the lasers, were...generic.

I did not read the manga, so if I had to guess it's going to come back as another fight between the two with Hiro being convinced that he's wrong and to repent he sacrifices himself to dispose of the meteor. But that's just my guess :D can't wait

Strong episode. We finally get a long extended fight between Inuyashiki and Hiro.

I was mildly annoyed at how Inuyashiki tried resuscitating Mari in the smoke filled room. And also amused at how the smoke seems to magically clear after Inuyashiki comes in, which did somewhat undermine the emotional scene.

I'm torn about the show letting Mari live. On one hand her death would make more sense narratively. On the other hand we don't exactly have many redeemable interesting characters aside from Inuyashiki.

after that huge death flag which is basically the entirety of ep9 I can already hear the try hard elitists bitching about her not dying lol

Anyway, glad she didn't die, even tho I gave up considering how his father took that long to get there otherwise that would've been sad af those flashbacks too, fuck losing a daughter and hot af one at that lel

Shishigami took a lot of planes.

Meh, I thought that Mari would die. That will be better for the show.

Crappy CGI aside, this episode was really good and had me in tears with the Mari scene. I'm just not good with that kind fo stuff.

And Hiro has got to be one of the best written sociopaths out there, never hated a character so fucking much in my life.

It's just a damn shame that we'll get the lame ending (sorry, I really didn't like it) from the manga from the looks of it. It would've been cool if they went with an original ending.

It wasn't just one plane... but like... the music didn't fit the situation at all, it's like the people making this anime knew how stupid and over the top that part was and treated it as such., it wasn't bad, was still pretty dang awesome the way the old dude came in and stopped all those planes from crashing. That second half though... I don't have words for that. Just amazing.

Shit. So many planes falling from the sky.

Inuyashiki and Hiro fight was great.

The second half had some emotional moments and I'm glad Mari didn't die. Inuyashiki proved once again that he is a true hero, saving the lives of so many people.

The animation in this episode was awful; terrible; it looked like a 90s video game.
I'm glad Inuyashiki was able to save Mari and everyone else. This series had a lot of potential, but Hiro's actions were a bit too much for me and I don't like how there's this underlying thing of I'm supposed to pity or feel sorry for him...no, just no.

I also wanted to exposition/background on the aliens that came and killed them in the first place. This story has a great premise, but a lot of it was not fleshed out well enough and the animation was unacceptable.

Inuyashiki finally confronted Hiro. The fight was okay, I gues...

The second half had me on the edge of my sit, almost thought Mari died. Man I felt so relieved when she opened her eyes... almost as much as Inuyashiki himself. Way to go conveying his feelings.

if we use a bit of logic, they SHOULD know that by having any kind of electronic device they are dead, escaping with planes will obviously backfire, they were actually safer in their houses for example in the bathroom rather than being outside.

It's kinda hard using logic when it's something you can not comprehend like an alien technology. And until now, they did not have any informations regarding Hiro power to be able to move eletronic device. So, if someone was going to kill every person in Japan, with the informations they had, it made sense to flee ASAP.

It's actually smarter than people pretending everything is fine and going on a tourist tour, the one day a serial killer announce he is going to kill 1 000 people :)

And regarding regeneration/healing, they really need to stop making it seems like Inuyashiki can not heal someone... and then save it (same with yakuza arc). His power either works or not. If it does not work, you're dead. End of the story.

Nah that alone can't explain the idiocy. First of all they are looking a machine that is just randomly saying "water" in distress. If it was a human, I'd understand, but it's a MACHINE. I wouldn't assume it actually really does need water. A sane person would mostly likely think it is broken and is just repeating something it was programmed to say. The fact this chick is dumb enough to go up to it and be like "is juicy ok?" as if it's a human being is bloody ridiculous.

Maybe if they were dumb kids messing around. But they look like grown adults--not drunk either because she had a can of JUICE. Still, what's most ridiculous about it all, is the fact it's basically the apocalypse and these two chicks are just calmly walking in an alleyway as if they shouldn't be holing up inside in terror.

But also this, YES. Just completely unrealistic.

I feel as if I appreciate the manga of Inuyashiki more than the Anime for several reasons even though they stayed true to the story without adding anything else.

Hiroya Oku loves making his characters cry which is why Andou and Hirou are always crying. Reminds me of a crying Kurono Kei.

That part of the manga pissed me off so much when Inuyashiki was about to save Mari and Hirou got in the way.

LOL did Inuyashiki have an afro in college during that flashback?

Those idiots at the end, giving Hirou juice.

The fight between Hiro and Inuyashiki was actually done way better then I thought it would be which was awesome, although I am kind of disappointed they left out the scene where Inuyashiki, thinking Mari is dead, has to tell his wife over the phone that he doesn't know where Mari is, and that he is on his way home. That scene added so much sadness to the initial impact of Mari's "death" but luckily she came back to life, but imagine the grief and probably anger Inuyashiki would've felt. Now that would've been an interesting path to follow

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! DAMN YOU, IGNORANT BITCHESSSSSSSSSSS Dx Damn youuuuuuu!!!!!

I'm glad Mari survived though ;A; although I wouldn't mind if they killed her off bc this would be the perfect moment to do so ;3 I'm happier for Inuyashiki that he revived her though. And how he keeps believing in God for help :') d'awwhhhh <3

Love how this anime trolls you lol. You think Hiro only controls one plane, but it's a whole squadron of them. And you think Inuyashiki saved one plane, but it's the rest of them too. Love love love. I thought the baby was gonna get shot last ep when the lady was playing that video on her phone, but nothing happened and nothing happened this time since Inuyashiki saved that plane, so I don't really care that the baby didn't die like we expected haha. Not everyone gots to die ;P Tis still good~

Poor Hiro though. We can understand his feelings a little bit. To meet someone else who is just like him but he is given the role of "Hero" whereas Hiro is the "Villain." Just due to chance, most likely. He's probably frustrated in how unfair it is :(

It was amazing when Hiro came to the realization that he is the villain. This is a fundamental aspect of the definition of Criminal Insanity. Hiro, quite literally, doesn't understand right from wrong. He had no idea that he was committing horrible, evil acts. He is unable to empathize with his victims or their survivors. To him, killing them has no more significance than choosing what to eat for breakfast.

He had to actually see someone else on his level, Inuyashiki, and compare their actions and motivations to be able to understand that, in society's eyes, he himself is the bad guy.

Does that make him any less of a bastard? Hell no. I hope Inuyashiki puts him down for good in the final episode. It's just important to see that his actions didn't come from malice towards others or an enjoyment of doing evil things, but from a failure to recognize he was doing evil in the first place and an indifference toward the suffering of others.

He's a different sort of criminal from the yakuza member several episodes back. That guy was evil and enjoyed being evil. He relished the suffering of others. He knnew he was doing wrong and liked it whereas Hiro is simply...defective.

Find it funny that Hiro has come to the realization that he is the villain. On top of that, realizing the hero is an old man XD. Probably honing the spirit of first impressions of this show.

It's a nice mix-up. Better than the usual "Older generation can't get with the new times and need to change their thinking" or the classic "Cynical old man defeated by bright-eyed righteous youngster"

How did he not figure they were the same when they met up last time. Did he forget that there someone likes him? I'll forgive him for it since a lot of things have gone down since last time they met.

Is juice okay?! Really?! You see something like that and you just help him out no questions asked?! Too kind. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't get a good look at his face when they were off screen as he drank the juice.

Well Inuyashiki's secret is mostly likely out now. Bet his family (especially his daughter) will treat him more kindly.

The plane scene is the last moment that I can remember from reading manga, so I was suprised when Hiro confronted Inu. Great scene with tension.

CGI was not perfect but it was amazingly fluid and fast. I am super happy that they have not overused those awful slow-motion tricks that every teenager loves. Fuck those.

I am glad that Mari did not die. Inu characters writing and develompent is based on those characters that he saved not those that get killed. Which is a total opposite to Hiro. Inu got some recognition, nice scenes.

I was super happy when Inu rekted this little shit.

ENDING scene was RETARDED. Simply stupid. Oh why, they should shove him laying with his face up not like this. It was stupid plot mover because Hiro is needed.

My God... the voice acting in this series is incredible, just utterly incredible. Inuyashiki's acting in particular. The way he reacted to Mari's "death," the fluid back and forth between acceptance and denial and the way his VA deftly handled it, it was just... wow.

I think the series hitherto came down to that confrontation between Inuyashiki and Shishigami and the realization that Shishigami is the "villain." The show has always been about their dynamic and the contrast between how the same life-altering experience polarized two people, but I think that Shishigami's particular observation cements him as the real "main character" of this series, IMO, despite its title. This show has been more about Shishigami's growth and how he approached the world than it has Inuyashiki's.

And still, Bill will live on.
He will befriend the next inhabitants of the earth, beings of light who revere him as a god.
And Bill will outlive them all... for millions and millions of years...exploring, learning, living,
until the earth is swallowed beneath his feet.
Until the sun is long since gone.
Until time loses all meaning and the moment comes that he knows only the positions of the stars
and sees them whether his eyes are closed or open.
Until he forgets his name and the place where he'd once come from.
He lives and he lives until all of the lights go out.
