Well, folks, our time has finally arrived. Season III is happening and after such an immense wait time, I am feeling very nostalgic. So I want to know: how did everyone discover this franchise and become invested in it?

For me, it was back when Animefreak was the go to website for illegal anime streams, and I had just recently become an official anime nerd. Looking for a fresh series to dive in to, I genre searched for something random and landed on a show titled 'Toaru Kagaku no Railgun'.

I tried out the first episode, but fled the scene when a certain twin-tailed lesbian delivered possibly the most ecchi moment I had seen up to that point by groping the main heroine in the showers.
However, despite having run away, something about the show's initial 8 minutes had just grabbed onto me and I cautiously looked deeper into it a couple weeks later, and realized that Railgun was in fact a spin-off of the main story 'Toaru Majutsu no Index'.

Hopeful but wary, I checked it out, and through finding Index's fanservice moment to be far more bearable than Kuroko's was in Railgun, decided to keep on trucking, eventually leading to the completion of both Index seasons, and a return to Railgun upon discovering it was in fact canon to the storyline with a greater tolerance for the fanservice.

And so, here I am today, proud Toaru franchise fanatic currently in possession of physical copies of Index Light Novel 1-10, Railgun Manga 1-11 and both anime seasons, Accelerator Manga 1 and 2, as well as doing my best to keep up to date on the latest translations for New Testament on Baka-Tsuki.

I think it was back in 2009 (maybe 2008, but most likely 09), I had probably 1-2 years of watching anime online and I just happened across this series, A Certain Magical Index. I watched it and really liked the whole concept of imagine breaker, magic, and esper powers and was immediately hooked. Not too long after, a second season came out which I watched as well. I wasn't familiar with "seasonal anime" so I probably just waited until all the episodes were available. Back in the day I used AnimeShippuuden and OnePieceOfBleach. Those were the good old days *stares off into the distance*

I didn't find out about railgun until like 2012ish but I didn't like it because I wanted a season 3 of Index. After a while I watched Railgun S and man was that amazing! By this time I had already read the Novels. Some guy I followed online kept talking about how the new volume was gonna come out and it was so good, so I gave it a shot back in 2014. I went through 18 novels in under a month! (about 3 wks). I have never read so much in such a short time. The story is just amazing and I'm putting in effort to own all of the novels.

The world needs season 3.

I think I was searching around for a random series to watch and stumbled upon index,it had a huge fan following so decided to check it out. Railgun S is what truly got me hooked to the Raildex universe and since then I've read nearly all the light novels and the railgun manga.
Very much hyped for season 3, index deserves it. :)

It began when I was in a site [beastanime (.) tv] and began watching a few series in there and on 2012 set myself to try and watch all the ecchi series that where there, that lead me to tumblr seached for series that I had watch and began following some that had interesting things, while browsing the content of some of the people I followed I came across a gif of Saten flipping Uiharu's skirt and got interested in that and while trying to find out from what anime it was from came across an image of Misaka, that's where I really got interested and after finding out the name of the series I began watching it, before I finished watching the first season of Railgun I found out that it was part of the Index series so I watched them all by the time I had watched both Index series and the first Railgun series the second season of Railgun came out and ever since been waiting for season 3 of either one of them.

I dont really remember how I actually stumbled on it, whether it was browsing for some comedy anime, or action or sci-fi genred anime, but the thing that got me hooked about Index is Kamijou Touma's misfortune at first, but later I grew attached to the characters. And to this day, I've rewatched the series a few times. Its by far my most enjoyed anime and am truly looking forward for the third season. I've been reading the novels, though quite slowly. Managed to reach NT volume 6. Took me over a year to read from volume one. Of course im still reading the series. Watched both Railgun seasons and read the manga.

It was recommended to me by a classmate back in 2009 when I just randomly walk in his house to hang out. Though I only watched it a year later and 4 years more that I finished the 2nd season and it's movie.

After knowing Heavy Object was written by the same author of Index and it was actually Kamachi''s trademark novel, I decided to re-watch both seasons again and check his other works as well and got me impressed by Railgun manga and just like that, I arrive at Index new testament and now patiently sitting for the upcoming 3rd season.

Well i just kinda started it, but dropped it after 2 episodes, then after half a year i tried it again, and i fell in love, when i finished the anime i instantly went too the books read all of them in a few days and loved this series even more, dropping this in the beginning is one of the biggest mistakes ive ever made.

I found it through fan subs when it came out way back in 2009. Watched the first episode and was hooked. Since then, the fan subs have been replaced by DVD and recently upgraded to Blu Ray; the series was on sale. :-)

BTW, all of the Academy City series are great, imho.

I jumped in when Railgun S first started coming out, watched the 1st season, Railgun S, then caught up on Index... Put it out of my mind that a season 3 would ever happen... I bought a lot of Railgun S merch shortly after it was done airing, some of it is quite rare now so im glad to see some new interest being stirred up for the series.

It was accelerator. I love psychopath/crazy sociopath characters. So i immediately got my eyes onto him. And then i started watching. And the part with touma cracking up into evil cackles after his freaking arm got cut off and blood spurting everywhere got me instantly in love with this anime. Seriously though, touma did a really good job immitating accelerator lol these two can be best bros

I had just watched Shakugan no Shana for the first time on Gogoanime I believe and it was the best thing that had ever graced my eyes
So I did what any other person would. I searched for something as good or better and came across the show and saw it was by J.C. STAFF which also did Shana, Tsukaima, Hayate and lots of other shows I found to be favourites at the time
so I watched it expecting to love it as much as any of the other shows by them

Back when I was a noob, circa late 2012, I was making a list of animes I wanted to watch (I didn't knew MAL existed in those times, so I just made a list in a Word document to keep track on all the stuff I watched), then I saw in some site an image of Toaru Majutsu no Index and, looking for the synopsis (since the character designs looked good), it sounded interesting enough to made me thought it would be a good series to watch. Some time passed and, after some friend of mine told me it was a good series, I gave it a try and, after finishing both seasons, I fell in love with the franchise. I think it was one of the first 50 animes I watched, and that was in early 2013... I was still in highschool. I can't believe how much time has passed since that.

Oh that's easy to answer, "A Certain" series was one of my first anime ever, After watching its first season I created my MAL Profile and continued from there, although I had finished Index and Railgun multiple times already I even bought its Mangas and Merchendise such as Action Figures, Phone cases and stuff, I never forgot about the series, and today when I looked up my email and saw a notification regarding a new season of the series, I took off to space only leaving my shoes behind. It is such an emotion to get to watch another season of what I think (my opinion) its perhaps the best series out there.
My waifu is Misaka btw. :3 can't wait for the release!

My community college's anime club showed us episode 1 subbed and I got hooked for a while. I saw all the 1st season, read the manga, watched Railgun, read that manga, watched Index 2, then watch back to the Railgun manga but stopped at the near end of the Daihasei Festival arc. Haven't seen Railgun S nor intended to cause I ready the manga already.

Either way, pumped for possible Season 3 cause I'm not a light novel kind of guy.

February 2016, having just gotten into anime in October 2015, and having only watched anime with my friend who introduced me to it, I began to look for anime to watch on my own. Surfing through the Sci-Fi genre, I stumble across "A Certain Scientific Railgun" It's vague pre-MAL rewrite description somehow intrigued me. When I saw that J.C. Staff was the studio that did Railgun, I decided I was on board, since Sakurasou no Pet Na Kanojo, also a J.C. Staff anime, was the one that truly got me into anime. To date, Railgun is my favorite anime (closely followed by Sakurasou)!

One month after finishing both seasons, I discover Railgun is a spin off series of Index, and decide to watch Index and rewatch Railgun in procession. Whilst overall more of a Railgun fan, I like both Index and Railgun for different reasons! Can't wait for both of the series to get their much-deserved, heavily anticipated 3rd seasons!

There was I time I really was into pettanko, futa, (ugly bastard) and rape doujins. I usually don't bother to go for translated ones, like honestly why would I?
So there was one girl who showed up over and over again, especially in the futa category and she kinda grew on me.
After a while I decided to find out if she's from an actual franchize or just an h doujin thing. Since I am not able to read japanese, I just reverse googled one of the panels from the doujins (obviously one of the few you could actually make out her face) and she turned out to be Mikoto Misaka.

Gave Index a shot, was alright. Then tried my luck with Railgun, wish I skipped that one and finally found myself enjoying Railgun S.

It was when I was just getting into anime when I was in high school. I've been trying to watch all the most famous and critically acclaimed anime like FMA and Death Note. I didn't even know that the show existed until my friend introduced me to the show. All he said that about it that it starts out slow but the concepts and characters in Index were great. So that's how I found out about it. After I watched both Index and Railgun, the same friend said if I'm still interested, I should read the novels as well since it gets pretty epic.

I didn't really read the light novels until I was browsing through the Index wiki page and found all sorts of interesting things that happens later on in the novels. I found nothing too spoilery, but it was just enough to pique my interest and made me go and read the novels and oh boy, they were fucking amazing to read. So much so that it's now one of my top 3 favorite series of all time. So suffice to say that I'm extremely excited for Season 3

I suppose I'm a biiiit late to the party, but I found the series a few years back, I had just finished watching Code Geass (and then re-watching it in the dub) and wanted to rewatch it again but with someone and ended up watching Zeb React's (on youtube) reaction to it and really liked his reaction, and then the next thing he watched was Railgun, so I watched that, found out it was a spinoff, and went over to Index.

I watched the first 9 episodes and then for some reason got kinda bored and decided to go back to Railgun, I watched both seasons, then read all the manga and the two novels for it, and resumed Index right at the Sister's arc (so glad I unintentionally swapped to Railgun and got the better version first) and then continued through with both seasons there, followed by the movie. When I reached the Daihasesai arc in Index II I got so excited because I had already read the Railgun side of that festival and was then endlessly disappointed by it not being that awesomeness.

Once I finished all the animated part i proceeded to read all of the novels (the first time I ever liked a show enough to read the source material) within a few months, and I mean all of them. Once I caught up, I proceeded to prowl around through Kamachi's other series like Zashiki Warashi, Heavy Object, Boo Boo, literally everything on Baka-tsuki with the guy's name on it. now I'm re-reading new testament in my spare time.

And, yeah, let's be honest, Accelerator is the best. Othinus is a close second for me, with Mikoto not far behind (though she's really trying to overtake Othinus again with the recent novels).

For a while, seemingly every Two Best Friends Play / Super Best Friends Play video on YouTube would have a top comment from an account called Mikoto Misaka, so I looked up the character.

After a couple of years, in late 2015, they played Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, which has her in it. One of the top comments was from that guy: "Me." It was like the climax of a YouTube comment arc. The account retired after that.

Saw some peeps talk about this franchise in Fate/Stay Night threads back in late 2013/early 2014, and I got curious. I intended to read the source first because I was told the anime adaptations were bad but the sheer amount of it all was pretty intimidating.

Fast forward to 2017, I decided to finally give it a shot (before S3 announcement) and caught up in about 6 months. I had a lot of free time.
