| This show can be brutal sometimes. I bet the gore scenes was shown more explicitly in the manga. I still dont like the fast pacing of the show. It's been a while since the last time I wished for a filler episode. |

| Hyou being there was a bit weird; at first I thought it added up, since maybe he was looking for Hakumen and a piece of him is in the cave, but, I don't think he should even know about the guy. He's only after that Tora-look alike that killed his family. I kinda wish he had been with them like in the manga to not make that so convenient, but it's a minor issue. What I really wanted to get was the details of the Beast Spear when Ushio was a monster. Apparently with him like that, it CAN harm humans, as Tora warned of it, Ushio almost attacked that mother and child and even Mayuko (who deflected it with the comb). That really should have been mentioned at least, but maybe in time once we learn more about the Spear's origin. It's not any sort of error, I just wish it was elaborated on, since it was relevant at the time. I'm getting really sick of hearing the word "harem". Actually, the end of this was a total subversion. All the girls admit he's only coming back to Asako; and, I know this is a novel concept in most entertainment, but women can care about men without being 'in love' with them. Notice how at the end of the last episode, Yuu said "suki" vs "ai" to describe how they feel about Ushio? Another sub mistranslation, but I don't think "love" was the right word; I think the original intent of that line was more akin to "really like" or "really care for". Yuu and Saya obviously have little crushes on him, but Reiko already has a boyfriend and Mayuko has known forever it's Asako that likes him and only teases her about it (she doesn't love him) and is actually beginning to crush on Tora. |
