Ah the assassination order on the Princess. I like the thrilling feel of the episode.

Kinda liked the background storytelling being revisited and narratives. The role of an assassin and accepting that responsibility is a big burden. For Anges, I think it really tests her integrity.

The last few minutes became the type of cat and mouse game plot that I had expected.

Very interesting episode. But... at the end, "princess" is Ange or Charlotte? And what happened to Dorothy? It seems that Chise will do something...

I can't wait.

That's quite the intense turn of events.

The assassination order actually went through, it made me sad to see how Ange couldn't even contact the Princess properly and it sucks that Dorothy and Chise were removed from the team. :(

Loved how Ange and Charlotte did their escape maneuver but it looks like the Princess actually wants to save the country more than escape with Ange, Respectable.

That final part with the Princess masquerading as an Ange in disguise was awesome.

I'm pretty sure it's Charlotte (fake) and that Ange(fake) was the one left inside the airship.

I just find this series is just so good :)

I'm hoping both Charlotte and Ange make it out of this alive in the end with the help of their team. Though if Charlotte has to give up her life to make Ange's dream come true, then I pray that it will all be worth it.

As soon as Ange and the Princess switch places, I had a huge grin on my face. Loved the commotion they caused.

Since the top had been changed, so did the nature of their mission. They really wanted to go through with the assassination.

That ending though. Can't wait for the next episode.

This was an interesting turn of events. I really hope Dorothy is alive. It sucks that she and Chise were removed from the team. Ange and Charlotte escape was well thought out. They work great together. That was quite an ending. The people want Charlotte to be the new sovereign. Looking forward to see how all this will play out.

"Typical" Conflict about "Follow the Order or Realize your feeling first". Oh well, since they have met in the past and Princess already made her demand first.

Stereotypical conflict in this episode ultimately, and because they're just using the "Ange and Charlotte look alike" thing to do whatever they want, it's hard to get invested in this when there's a very easy escape from the situation for both of them; hell, their ability to switch places with ease ultimately gives either of them a way to escape unscathed, and ultimately I'm predicting it's going to be Ange who ultimately sacrifices herself so the Princess can live on unnoticed. Also, I'm betting that Chise and Dorothy have been removed from the picture for now so they can do a Han Solo next week and come in as a deus ex machina when all seems bleak; at the very least, this show honestly doesn't seem to have the guts to kill Dorothy or anyone else in the main cast (other than Ange as a self-sacrifice, as I'm expecting to happen).

Long story short, this episode was executed very well, but it's leaning on such lazy, stereotypical storytelling devices that I can't help but be disappointed by the complete and utter lack of ambition on display here.

This was very good for a set-up episode. Can't wait for the final I hope they will finish with a good ending (not necessarily a happy ending).

Wouldn't it be hilarious and super cruel if they don't show us case 24 but something like case 7 as the last episode? It would be the biggest trolling ever. :)

Everything's falling apart in this group. I wonder where's Dorothy now? I'm so anxious that something happened to her. :/

I swear THAT Princess is the real princess pretending to be Ange just to show them that Ange successfully assasinated the princess. AASSGDNGNJGJNH!

Gaah. I love this show so much and it hurts me knowing that the next episode will be the last. This anime should've been a 2-cour. I'm not okay.

Freaking loved this episode. That action sequence, maaan, and that soundtrack! <3

Lots of events in this episode and, to tell the truth, I am a bit confused, so I try to summarise what it is happening:
A part of the Royal Army (from the Colonies) want to set Princess as the new queen of the Kingdom (by killing the actual Queen) but the Commonwealth, knowing about it (?), forced Control (replacing L) to advance Operation Changeling and did others stuff (like infiltrating Zelda in the Royal Army revolutionists), in order to gain some sort of advantage from all this events (end the monarchy, maybe?).
The Duke or Normandy knows about the Royal army plot(?) but doesn't inform the Queen about it yet: is he supporting another candidate to the throne?
I am right? Missing something?

Ah man... I'm really hoping for a happy ending, but I'm doubting we'll get one. It seems like they want to replace the queen with a fake one, so the military controls the kingdom or something. I don't want Ange (<3) to disappear/die :( And I hate to see Charlotte and Ange fighting like this. Please, Anime-gods, give us a great and happy ending!

Wait, thinking about it, Charlotte sacrificed Ange? Damn son! This better be a ruse or something! Otherwise I might REALLY regret watching this...

By the way the events have played out in this episode, the chances of a happy ending have slimmed a bit. With Dorothy seemingly out of the picture and Chise being summoned back to her master, Ange(Charlotte) was left with no options but to go along with the mission to a certain point, then ran away with the Princess.

However, the Princess(Ange) wasn't happy about Charlotte's plan and wants to stay and make her dream to become the next Queen to come true. She ran away whilst Locking Charlotte in the sealed room on the airship, which has now taken off. I'm sure she'll break out of the room somehow.

Either way, there's two plans in motion. The military wants the Princess to be assassinated, whilst the guards at the end with Zelda wants the Princess to be Queen by assassinating the current Queen. At this rate, I see either of them dying now. D=

Only one episode left to wrap things up. Hopefully the producers will end this on a high. =)

I see:
So... the real princess is faked death, while the fake "Princess" continues with Operation Changeling.
- The Commonwealth's plan is probably very simple: kill Princess, put Ange on her spot, put a coup coordinated with military invasion and rebellion across the whole colonies. Hoam idiot modern military...

- But no one but them know that these two (Ange & Princess) were on their own side, to begin with, not even Dorothy, Chise, and Beatrice lol. And the overall direction of their side is... splitted into 2: Ange wants out. Princess wants in.
Though Princess definitely didn't know the whole detail of Operation Changeling. All she knew she was supposed to be killed, thus playing bluff "I will cooperate" to "Control" worked very well... until someone more radical shows up.

- And the Duke's response to the news of a coup "I'll decide if I will tell the Queen or not" is also a case of concern. We never got an explanation on which side the Duke is really on: himself, or the Queen. All we know is that he plays an antagonistic role to the team. But if his antagonistic spot is to be believed, and if his background "the most powerful person in the Kingom (bar the Queen)" is also to be believed thus his goal is probably to kill Princess (Ange, as a fake) while openly reveal the plot that the coup is staged by the Commonwealth (that the Princess he killed is a fake,) giving him a reason for war (while removing a political competitor.)
I mean: he has no real reason to remove the Queen, since he's already the most powerful person on the Kingdom (and the planet lol.) The only thing he needs now is a reason to go to war with the 2nd most powerful nation the Republic, and those idiots at the Commonwealth's military side probably wants the same thing, so...
Or well... unless he's just another corrupt bastard whose goal is only more money and some small sense of security lol. If that's the case, then probably his goal is to put a puppet ruler (Princess) into the throne - control her - control the Kingdom while collude with the Republic. The drugs that took Prefect is also a motive.
But that would be boring.

The ending I would love to see should involve either Princess or Ange dying. Preferably Princess bcs she's annoying, and bcs that would be perfect ending "the real princess shows up and continues lying as a princess."
but really, with how they deliver this, I smell some bullshit ending where Princess is snatched by the group etc etc etc they all run away everyone gets to live happily ever after as spies -_-

Well, at least Ange's constant "telling the truth" in this episode is moe.
Also this episode is Kajiura Yuki indeed. <3

Assassinate the princess? Well the predictable route is that Ange fakes Charlotte's death and the two survive and escape somehow.

Told ya!

A pretty straightforward episode. Nothing really new from what I've seen. However, the identity switching gave us a twist there. Remember inside the clothing store that Ange and Charlotte switched clothes? They then ran out of the guards' sights and changed back. In other words, Princess Charlotte in the end IS the Princess, however the guards do not know that because they assume that it is Ange in the Princess' attire as they saw when they left the clothing store. So in other words, Princess gave Ange the opportunity to escape while at the same time made the guards think that she herself is Ange.

New character Zelda might be the one who makes the change in the next episode. Considering how she knew about Ange's antics when meeting her in Charlotte's room, there might be more to her than just being Princess' bodyguard. Is she able to discern Charlotte's act as Ange and play along, or is she truly fooled that the "Ange" she sees is actually Charlotte? We'll have to wait and see...

Also, knowing how anime likes to go about with disappearing characters, I'm pretty sure that Dorothy is still alive and around somewhere. Since Zelda and the guards don't know that the Princess (aka Ange), is still alive on the airship, I'm going to guess that Ange and Dorothy along with Chise will reunite somehow and try to help Charlotte. The key here is going to be Beatrice knowing that she is very close to the Princess. Where was she this episode anyway?

So, the Commonwealth decided to go full on the operation changeling putting a Spy as the queen of the kingdom, wich preety much wins the conflict for them if it somehow goes unnoticed.

We dont know who is who in the last scene, ans seeing that princess is just as good an actress as Ange, there is 2 people now that could become Queen. None knows that Ange and Charlotte are allied with each other to such a point, so if they both play well their cards, they have the advantage, however, Zelda might have noticed that something is up.

There is just so many things that could happen in the last episode, and a lot of them would be awesome, i just hope they dont go for a cliche or safe ending, they setted this up so well, they just need to not fck up to wrap it up as a great series.

They probably didn't/couldn't get rid of Dorothy. She's in the top tier of spies along with Ange. Willing to bet that she'll be the one getting Ange out of that blimp somehow.

Not quite sure I understand what happened during the "mission" to assassinate the Princess. Did Ange not say that even the Princesses guards also step up their security? So how was it possible that only Commonwealth spies were present in the complex where the attempt went down? And to top it off, it seemed like the Duke was also in on things (specifically since he said not to tell the Queen about whatever the Royal Army insurgents were planning).

For a build up episode, this really did quite well in confusing everyone as to just who is on which side right now.

Well, is the only happy ending that may occur that the wall will crumble? But then what happens to Ange and Charlotte? Like, we know who's who at this point (I think we do?), but what happens to them? And what about Chise and Dorothy (I think they're the most probable to end up alive at the end).

Something tells me that Ange (The spy who was initially the real princess) is the one that's gonna be the sacrificial lamb, and that Charlotte (Who's the fake princess who was the pickpocket in childhood) is gonna end up achieving her goal of tearing down the wall... At the tragic and unwanted expense of losing her best friend in return.
I can see it, but it's gonna be sad :'<

Anyway, besides the realization of who's gonna die and whatnot, I also fear about the pacing on the last episode.
Are they going to be able to, not only have a satisfactory ending, but also avoid leaving major loose ends remain and up in the air?

I guess we'll see.

At this point everything is pretty chaotic. Kind of a given when you have two characters who have swapped lives.

Though if someone is going to die from all this....it should probably be the Princess (who was originally Ange). If this goal is so darn important for her then Ange sure as heck shouldn't be the one dying for it.

At the same time I still foresee a happy ending. Dorothy is MIA, but that simply means she can appear at a useful time to help out. Chise knows that her friends will be at the core of events and has her feeling of needing to repay them to push her into action. Presuming Ange was actually left on the airship she can get out of there and jump into action as well, having some growth and "I'm not going to run away" cliche moment. And of course Beatrice is still fine and dandy. All the mess gets cleaned up with some big operation, the wall falls, the "Princess" becomes Queen and everyone has a good time.

Can they handle all this well? Who knows.

Fantastic episode to lay out the base for the finale episode coming next week.
Ange and Charlotte swapping places and causing mayhem was undoubtedly the best moment of the episode, but it is still confusing at times who's who exactly, followed by the Princess's(fake) act in the end. I don't particularly mind this as long as it will all be clarified in the end though so here's hoping for the best. It was disheartening to see Dorothy and Chise being removed from the team though and a new squad and annoying commander in place. Pretty sure she will serve as the 'wall' between Ange and Princess, if you know what I mean. Damn, those action sequences and the soundtrack was great as always. I hope Dorothy is alright though, I have this gutsy feeling that she was annhilated or something so I hope I'm gravely mistaken.
Truth be told, however, this show is seriously in a mess from a storyline point of view and it's seriously a worry since I can't imagine it all being resolved in the upcoming finale episode. Then again, if a second season is in the making, it might still give us some hope of all being clarified but really chances of that happening are really low considering the lack of sequels in the anime industry. On another note, I don't want a bitter sweet ending but judging how things have gone thus far, it's pretty evident that at least one of those two(Charlotte and Ange) if not more are going to have to be leaving the world, or maybe caught and help captive without the other knowing or something of the sort. Gah, just a sweet merrylike ending please...

That's not even close to what a Deus ex Machina is. It wouldn't even be an ass pull. Especially considering they foreshadowed Chise getting involved next episode in this episode with her conversation the person above her, basically telling her to go fight for her friend. Dorothy, if she's alive, would also obviously be working towards her own way of helping. None of this is unexpected or new additions to the story to solve an unsolvable problem, all of it's been built upon in the story so far.

Lol, Ange, get outspied by your double.

Pretty sure you can tell it was Princess (the one that lived most of her life as a princess) that locked Ange (the one that lived most of her life as a spy) by the dialog they had at the end. Princess asumed Ange's supposed end goal personallity, as if she completed the mission, infront of her ... or well, through the door ... which is why Ange looked so confused and curshed.

Expected nothing of value from this show and exactly got nothing (the giveaway was the fact plot stopped after 2 episode and we were given trash slice of life quality fillers with spies as gimmick background theme)

Good call on Deus ex Machina I would also bet on it, however I do think this show wont even kill one char, slice of life with gimmicks cant do that.

In a sea compiled of absolutely worthless light novel/manga adaptations, and rom com harem high school trash that is the essence of the current anime industry, this show lacks ambition and is lazy? What a load of garbage, honestly. Let's give this production staff some god damn credit for actually trying to CREATE something for a change and putting in an effort. There are complaints you can volley at this show, but hacking it for a lack of ambition and laziness is so far off the mark it's borderline embarrassing.
