So we get some background on the founding of the restaurant. It appears that we will end up getting backstories on most if not all of the characters.

All-in-all, a nice, relaxing and enjoyable episode again.

Hmm agreed, another relaxing episode. :) I guess it was nice to see the foundations. Hope next episode to see some story movement though.

Next episode is going to have another extended flashback and focus on backgrounds.

Which I don't mind at all because hey, Lorenzo/Gigi back story = the one thing I've been excited to see animated. On the other hand, two flashback episodes in a row seems a little too much. I wasn't expecting them to do one after the other. Oh well...

The episode was confusing at first because of the way the flashback came on...I'm like eh, how come Luciano is bar tending at a different place. So the oji-sans do need glasses to read the fine print after all. I guess that's how the 'spectacles' requirement came about. It's good to see some background of how the restaurant came to be though and the original staffers too. I'm still enjoying the series so far but I hope the airing time is now fixed.

The television schedule suggests it's clear sailing from here on for Rispara: one episode per week until its run ends (and Aoi Hana takes its place).

Feeling really relaxed now, and I lost track of the number of times I awwwed while watching :D Lol at the power of glasses, light shining on Claudio and Vito's introduction (all he needs is a pair and he's got the job!!!!).

Luciano blushing about spending time with his grandson and the 'We convinced each other' from Claudio was so cute. It was nice to see that they think so highly of each other.

Awww the Owner, Lorenzo, built the restaurant out of love... lol, ok got to stop! :P

I loved Vito's entrance, but it makes me wonder what he was doing, rather than running...

Good episode, besides that super vague transition that left me confused for 10 minutes.

So, let me get this straight. Everyone had to be over 50 before they were hired. And that was about 10 or so years ago? So Claudio is at least 60? So Nicoletta is in love with a man more than 3 times her age??

According to the Rispara encyclopedia from Erotics F 39, character ages are as follows:

Gigi, Luciano (64 years old) > Claudio > Vito > Furio > Lorenzo (51 years old) > Gabriella (in her late forties) > Olga > Teo (early forties) > Nicoletta (21 years old)

As this was published before Gente commenced serialization (which began with the restaurant origin story), whether or not the sign retcons this chart is debatable. I doubt it changes anything because all implied and stated ages appear intact in both Gente and the anime series.

Officially dropping it, it's not bad, it's just... not my tastes at all and I can't empathize with the characters.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

I like the fact that they're making her mother seem like an actual person instead of some total douchebag of a parent.

Another nice episode. It came with a good relaxing mood. Highly entertaining, though I am wondering if I would like it to work in a restaurant for the sole purpose of being a sex object for the owner's woman. That's kind of discriminating.

Though the whole idea and setting is pretty funny. Especially that young cook in despair because of being too young.

I felt the same way too. In fact I wasn't even aware that it was a flashback until they showed Nicolette back in the kitchen.

Enjoyable episode.... it's good to see how the restaurant was created and to see Claudio without spectacles :-)

however, I fear that sometimes being too low-tempo causes boredom.

This episode just goes to show just how amazing of a guy Lorenzo is. It was also nice to get some back story to the restaurant.

I enjoyed that one scene where Lorenzzo was also captivated by the spectacles.

They tried but she's still a total douchebag parent to me.

"This restaurant has a rich history." Indeed it does. It was interesting to see how dell'orso came together. Vito is hilarious, decides to become a waiter during a jog. Lorenzo and Olga's relationship is very sweet and moving, it was heartwarming to see how much they do for each other. Yeah it's a bit strange that Lorenzo is providing eye candy for his wife, but at the end of the day her eyes are only on her husband as she mentions how his smile completes her.

Same ditto. Without Nicoletta, the ep becomes an idealistic, slow-paced, and *too* slice-of-life, with lack of character development. I wouldn't have watched it past ep 2 if I knew the series was going to be like this all the time. But I know it's not, and I know this ep isn't here as filler. Time to find out why Gigi keeps eating all the time!

Wow, Claudio looks a lot better without the reading glasses in the flashback.

Also, I knew Claudio was older than Nicoletta, but he's like 60 now? Okay then..

I think it's sweet that Olga's husband hired with such specifications for her was sweet, but I do think it's weird that he'd purposely choose guys that fit her fetishes. She didn't stray from him, but that was like asking her to have eyes for someone else. (Plus, she has a history of leaving people for someone else...)

I don't really think she's actually romantically attracted to any of the men, she just feels at ease and relaxed with them.

Was a slower than normal episode for me. I think if it were clearer what time period it was in at each point or at least at the start of its flipping back and forth I would have liked it more. I wasn't sure what was happening at first. The look in the past shows me even more about the mother and her relationship with the owner which is great!

The little trip to past was an interesting addition to learn more about the characters and the origin of the restaurant, enjoyable on top too :)

Owner is shown like such a good husband, doesn't quite fit the image of someone who wouldn't marry a woman with a child... I wonder how he'd react, after all Olga's decision was really shitty in this situation. In his place I would be disappointed.
