there is so much love and hate for this anime..which is FUN
this anime has a great melodramatic situations and fandom.. PLUS
if u get too attached to most of the charas..
im sure u will be more enjoy in watching each episodes.. even if there is a bad writing and all..

for example because im too attached to mumei.. when i heard everyone is crying after the prescrening [1 week faster screening in japan theater]
i cant sleep yesterday until 4AM..
i know takumi is going to DIE... but my attachment to all of these chara make me blind.. and FEAR that ..everyone could die..
if i keep guessing in fear.. even if the plot is predictable.. everything will still be intense AF..

which is why im glad i can enjoy the 9 chara more than anyone...
i rarely can remember most anime names.. heck i dont even care...
but kabaneri.. im care so much.... and because of that.. i can enjjoy the drama.. just i enjoyed game of thrones, and AOT

sukarin-yukina-kajika-obito-mumei-ikoma-ayame-kurusu-takumi all of them are lovely, and fun to dig..
especially in fandoms..

if only this anime did not use the AOT overhype marketing, im sure many people would enjoy it more than now...
they dont have to worry about anything... all the chara are great! i love it! many to ship also!

Right, that was totally unexpected... I think Ikoma should be definitely dead, if they somehow decide that he survived in the two next episodes, I think it would be a bad choice

No not really. He was stabbed under the heart and the guy has recovered from having his stomach bitten open so surviving losing his arm is more than possible

Well that was a good episode, Whenever characters share nice bro moments in shows like this you know they're gonna die :(
And I absolutely knew it when Ikoma and Takumi got trapped in the room but still really sad that they had to kill Takumi ;.;
R.I.P Takumi

Don't really get how crossing a bridge is related to a revolt and if that line of reasoning lead to eventual switching of keys and is supposed to have made me think Biba was some genius then No, It did not XD
Really not liking Biba, Don't really see any depth to his character as an antagonist apart from the revenge motive.

I was really glad Mumei finally stood up against Biba but sadly Biba has brainwashing injections :|

Ikoma got thrown off :o, How is he ever gonna get back? :o
Though now I have no clue how they are gonna end this in 2 more episodes, I'm assuming it'll just end on a cliffhanger cause if they just found some way to kill Biba in 2 episodes that would be quite underwhelming.

The stone is just a stone. He held it on to it because it was precious to Ikoma. symbolism for the fact that he will be back so someone will give that stone back or it will snap Mumei out of the influence of the drug. So many people think that stone is gonna be a magical macguffin =_=

Some more elaboration on Biba's past from the Prequel Novel or The recent Newtype article

“12-year-old Biba was used in the standoff between those who advocated the suppression of Kabanes, and the moderates who wished to run away and hide from them. In order for the moderate side to get rid of the advocates, Shogun Amatori created an army of 400,000 and made his son, Biba, the supreme commander. However, the Shogun had planned to let them die anyway. He did not send the reinforcements he planned to send, and left the army out to be annihilated. Kurusu’s father was part of the 400,000 and was killed during this time.

This proved to be the opportunity the moderates needed, as society began to shift to created strong, sturdy stations to barricade themselves in. Biba somehow survives the catastrophe, but is forced to take all the blame of the loss. He was stripped of his status, disinherited by the family, and placed in the Karikatashu. From there, he spends the next 10 years finding out who framed him, which led to his actions last week.”

This show is one good soundtrack away from being a worthy successor to Guilty Crown.

Although I must admit, as crazy as that show was, they at least gave the antagonist enough redeeming features that I wasn't completely detached from the plot. At least I could keep watching that asking myself what ridiculous bullshit will they pull next.

Whereas this, I have no such questions, because I know that from here on out, every single twist and turn this show will throw at me will just be Biba killing a bunch of people for no reason. I mean really, did anybody expect their little uprising to actually work? The biggest twist this episode was that only one of them (plus that random dude at the beginning) was killed when I would have expected them to at least show a few more scenes of defenseless women and children being killed en masse for no reason. In retrospect they were remarkably restrained in that regard this week.

But like.... when that's all the show really has, death has no meaning or impact anymore. I really can't feel anything the plot does.

The earlier episodes not only had more interesting plotlines, but more action scenes and better animation as well. The show really regresses when it tries to move away from those points, which doesn't bode well for the ending that will shortly be upon us.

They either got their best animators working on the upcoming season of Attack on Titan, or they just didn't give a shit about this show. Too many static images that look ridiculous and are almost funny, the characters' designs seem very off in the last 5 or so episodes, especially Ikoma's, and the action scenes don't have the fluidity that the earlier episodes did.

And don't get me started on the story... something you'd expect from the creator of Code Geass.
Yeah, on top of significantly going down in quality since Biba's introduction, the show has been surprisingly unimpressive in terms of action thus far. For an anime that bears all the marks of your typical summer blockbuster, I expected a lot more, I have to admit.
Here's to hoping the studio haven't completely run out of their allocated budget and are just saving up for the last two episodes.

Honestly after seeing the translation for Biba's more in depth past I can see why he would hate the stations. They are the symbol of the things he and his men were sacrificed for. In his eyes those stations were built with the blood of his loyal men who rode out with him to defeat the Kabane and are used to reinforce a cowards's mentality of holing up inside the safety of the walls.

His methods are still fucked up and insane but again I can see why he would hate the stations and everything they stand for.

Ah... somehow this storyline is really meh. The first episodes were rather good. Destruction, zobmbies, tactical plays... but then ever since Biba appeared it's like... okay we have bad guy who does bad things because he was hurt/betrayed in the past. We have to defeat the bad guy YEEEE!

...

...

Hmm... Well I guess the anime still has it's crazy production value but well... that production value is wasted on this story.

Last time we had zombies firing mega BEAMs! Now we have pitiful cliffhanger with MC dying for shocking value... only one thing about death scenes in anime is that they don't mean anything if the character doesn't actually die. In this case we are about 100% sure that Ikoma won't die.

Well comparing this to SnK is old but I might as well do it. As I remember that when in 5th episode Eren "died", at the very least there it really felt like he won't appear again. Here however it seems like none of the main character ever dies.

It's possible that even Ikoma's fat friend, will live because the 'crystal'.

BTW, the fact that the bad guy had so very plot convenient "Mind control injection"... COMMMON!

Why all the hate on Mumei?!?! She actually had the strength to deny the older brother she had been brainwashed into idolising because she cared about the people on the Koutstsujou! She was forced to attack Ikoma! Also, she has never wanted anyone to die, she was mislead last episode.

Also RIP Takumi, just when I started to love you :( Hoping for a Kurusu and Ikoma team up now to go take down Biba!!!

based on how the next episodes will be, this will either end as a pretty good show or be disappointing as hell.

The story so far is interesting but imho too much for a 12 ep anime. But the art was amazing again.

Why did Takumi stood in front of Ikoma when he already saw him survive a bullet with no consequences?
This is just bad writing.
Bilba should have just shoot Takumi to make Ikoma mad, there was no point in having him protecting Ikoma.

What in god's name did they do to mumei
Worse is that she didn't even realize that that was going to happen to her even after seeing horobi(not sure if that's the spelling-probably not)
We all know Ikoma won't die but I'm still pissed off....
Then takumi HOPEFULLY won't die---I'll definitely cry if he does
Is Ayama okay....can't believe she made a deal with the devil(biba) I get she's doing it for her people and stuff but don't just trust him just because he comes off as a tragic hero
Kurusu should come quick... I know he's all right wherever he is
Who is biba trying to kid.. I don't sympathize with him m in any way.. He's not the first person who they left for dead out in the midst of kanabe... He should stop acting important
NOTE: no matter if I criticize this series a lot,I won't change a thing in this series ... And why all the hate for mumei, I loved her from the second time I saw her in this series- not the first time though, I thought she was just a spoilt princess

Except the guns that the hunters use CAN KILL KABANE. SO they could kill Ikoma too. They're not the peashooters that Kurusu had in episode two. Plus he had regret from not taking the bullet from Episode 2.

Don't even care. Just get off the show is fine with me. But I konw the moment he is off-screen is end of the show. I think they could've tried something about uping the anti with a "second-wave" of Kabaneri or some stuff. This Biba arc just spoiled the show for me. Also, I think Biba's men are actually understaffed that it's like they'll hire just about anybody.

Last time I said Biba was an Idiot because he's keeping a useless burdensome girl who seriously lacks training and discipline...........well I take that back, he knows she's useless but doesn't give a fuck since it doesn't spoil his plans much.

Do you really need to hate Biba? I mean his men are not all assholes you know.

I didn't like this episode at all. I think it would have been better to keep Mumei naive and stupid going along with her brother instead of just plot device drug brainwashing her to do things. That part was stupid, I mean I hate Mumei like most do, but now she is plot deviced again. I swear this character is a walking plot device.

I somehow feel like she didn't hit Ikoma's vitals when she stabbed him. Not sure if that was on purpose or what, who knows to what extent this "evuul brainswashing drugz" has on her. I highly doubt he is dead though.

@Darklight0303

I honestly think that the only purpose of the stone will be to snap Mumei out of her brainwashing. I don't know where all these other people are coming up with it being magical lol. Like you said it is just a river stone. If it did have magical powers then it would be comparable to the retarded zombie mega-beam.

Dude hie needs to level up. He can't just kill Biba's elite troops right at the start, that's just retarded. This is actually the part where the tutorial ends. Then he begins by killing slimes, then small animals, then some weak kabane to finding mini-boss kabanes. Then starts upgrading equipments in an abandoned warehouse then finally charges to evil base where final boss Biba awaits.

He meets Kurusu/Kurusu finds injured Ikoma, Kurusu will give him this "white blood" and Ikoma's wounds will heal/arm grows back/potential powerup. Uh no...you look at the genre. It says shounen. Is there really an MC that "permanently dies" and be removed from the plot in shounen? Correct me if i'm wrong cuz I haven't seen much anime but still that's my conclusion from experience.

Let's see, MC still suffers from random "power downs" solely for plot reasons. One moment he's beating people to pulp the next he's an easily overpowered weakling who can't do anything solely because it's needed to advance the plot. This is really bad story telling.

Mumei keeps being a humongous fuck up. After episode 9 she still went back to lick Biba's a**. She's standing by as the people are drained and abused, easily being reassured by an obvious lie. She only tries to run away when told to go kill some of them but fucks that up, as she does everything and is now brainwashed and hopefully soon dead.
