| Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing It looks like a regular 2d in some places, but others have a really smooth transition in colors. Is this some kind of 3d and 2d blend? |

| The worst thing in this show is coloring and shading of characters. Look at this, it looks awfully CGish and cheap (2 color gradient?). JC Staff had done similar thing in Prison School. This anime looks whole universe better than Prison School, but still... :/ OK, 3D vechicles are ...well... bareable, but something like this... And those beautiful (open air) backgrounds = Triple A (this is their usual work, Non Non Biyori and tons of other shows), not JC Staff. But still, one of the best start episode of the season :P |

If anything, animation keeps getting better as time passes. The advancement of 3D animation methods merely enables the animators to keep production costs down (in turn enabling us enjoy a whole lot more content than ever before). Overall, the drop of animation quality is clearly not evident. Heck, watch a few shows of the Gundam metaseries (which is an excellent showcase of the development of anime and animation in general). |
